Voting on the federal level would be proportional to the amount of taxes paid (not necessarily the rate). I think it only fair to be able to vote proportional to one's contribution to the government.

I might generalize that along the lines of the value of your votes depends on the value of your contribution to society, rather than contribution to government.

Why not dispense with all the formalities and just tell David Koch he's President for Life?

King Obama might object to that.

Not your concern, Brew. Keep out of our affairs.

I certainly agree that not everyone of our citizens (and Canadians) do not deserve the privilege and responsibility to vote here. It seems to be a good idea but would never pass. Too many people are sucking on the government teats and would not vote for that amendment.

It really is a privilege and responsibility, not a right.

The problem is how to define it.

But you can't stop the snowball of democracy once it starts downhill.

Prior to the American Revolution, voting in Colonial America was a privilege restricted to white males who owned property. These restrictions continued after the founding of the United States , although specific restrictions relating to property ownership varied from state to state.
