"I'm for non-intervention. I feel threatened by Keystone."

OK. I understand clearly now.

This is getting off topic, and we don't need to pursue it, but are you non-interventionist only in foreign policy or domestic as well?

Well if Iran gets the bomb, then Saudi Arabia will be next. Now, if they get a three way going between them and Isreal, the middle east "problem" would disappear. Albiet it wouldn't be inhabitable for a while.
I've seen several righties on this board and others suggest that "we" should make a glass parking lot out of Iran. Ignorance abounds among some.
Well that's rather senseless. I mean if you're going to conquer someone, for taking their land or resources or people as slaves, or for spreading democracy, or the latest humanitarian reasons, you can't do that annihilating them.
Except for the democracy and humanitarian parts, that would be the ultimate conquering, wouldn't it?

Only on foreign policy. I think we need government. Not much use in arguing that old saw.

I love these hand wringing threads. The big bad wolf might get some claws and hurt me. Boo Hoo. Oh crap, this might result in the rag heads cutting off my supply of gas. Boo Hoo. Somebody might get hurt. Boo Hoo. I wonder what will become of me if I can't fit under my old school desk. Boo Hoo. Screw the middle east and the sand diggers. Saudia Arabia has $billions of my dollars, let them deal with it. Better yet, I don't give a crap who over there deals with it, it's none of my business or concern.

Ron Paul received right at $5,000,000 in donations from guys like me last month. The only guy running who has not sold out and who has common sense. If more would support him, we wouldn't be having conversations like this in the future.

Question, how many people in the Congo worry about Iran? Do they have any leaders or news agencies screaming in terror about mushroom clouds floating overhead if they don't do something about this?

My guess is that it's because the Congo doesn't threaten Iran. Ron Paul is a maniac.

The nuke genie was out of the bottle decades ago. looking at form Iran's viewpoint, why should they not have the bomb when Pakistan, Israel, the USA & Russia all have it? The only answer is to ban nuclear weapons worldwide. Mind you that is a pipe dream.

No gain. It makes no sense to destroy what you conquer. I'm trying to think of a time in history prior to the mass destructive WWs that man destroyed what he conquered.

I agree with that. But, I think the thread is not about conquering Iran, but deterring it from producing nuclear weapons.

Well, I'm a noninterventionist like Paul but even he would defend the US if he saw Iran as a threat to us or our interests.
