This isn't our father's country anymore. Our measure is yet to be tested. But as with the son, who took the business his father built and ran it into the ground, we may be about to find out.
Old doom and gloom Ban erupts again.
Why don't you argue the point. Your comment doesn't bring anything. You act like it's not a possibility. Shouldn't Europe give you a clue?
I don't really understand what your point is. It sounds like you are just parroting Fox sound bites. State your case and we can talk about it.
Lord! How did FOX get into this conversation?

State my case?? My question was, "what's your pain tolerance?"

Just gonna continue with the crap instead of actually discussing whatever it is you are posting about? Fox got into it because it's the kind of thing I hear on Fox nearly every time I turn it on. Who knows what his pain tolerance is until it's tested. Your question implies we are about to test it. Expound on that please.

It seems that's what the righties do when challenged. They complain that no one will discuss with them and when someone agrees to discuss it, they become mute.

My point is in the title of the thread. We see the apparent pain in Greece from financial mismangement. What will your pain tolerance be?

Maybe the problem with your not understanding my point is that you see no parallel at all with Greece's financial mismangement, Greec's entitlement growth, Greece's rich finding ways from paying taxes and hoarding money.... and what we are doing here.

You are correct, I see no resemblance to Greece in our current situation. Greece is, and has always been, a poor country, at least in modern times. The Greeks got into their current situation by borrowing money that their economy wasn't capable of repaying even in good times. I also put a lot of the blame on other countries, including the US, for lending them more than they could repay. It was all about greed among the lenders who were getting a large return on their investments until the bottom dropped out. Then, to save themselves, they threw Greece under the bus.

Well then, that prety much explains everything and no need for you and I to discuss it further.

As you wish. But, you could make an attempt to show me the error of my thinking. If you choose not to, I can only assume that you are incapable of doing that.

There is no error of ways. You see no parallel, I do. If you see no parallel and I believe that you don't, you should see no reason to attempt an answer to the question I posted in the title, "What is your pain tolerance?" Apparently you don't feel we will approach a situation similar to that of Greece, that we here in the US will not have to experience austere measures that will cause pain, that may come after we're gone. What can I say in addition. I'm not trying to convince you that you are wrong in your assumption that there is no parallel between the past financial policies of Greece (Europe) and ours today. I just posed a hypothetical question.
