Any retirees here have an HSA? I'm having a difficult time figuring out it we are eligible and if so hows it work? My wife's insurance policy has a $2500 deductible. I am on SS with no supplemental ins.

I used to have one when I was working. I put money in before taxes to pay my health care premiums and deductibles. I think any left in the account at the end of the year was lost to uncle Sam. Main advantage was using money you didn't have to pay taxes on to cover your medical expenses.

Can I put my wifes Med insurance costs and deductable in it and how about my Part B? Does the HSA get tax relief on these costs like 100% tax credit?
