In my opinion Brew, the scientists do not give enough leeway to natural fluctuations in nature when they come forth with their theories. And I can care less if you want to denigrate me and my opinions or compare me to Koch or leaning towards some conclusions by people who you claim are mouthpieces for Koch and big energy. I will never support hair brained opinions of scientists nor well intentioned theories, when they have chosen to use their titles to disrupt the world. Especially my country.

Have you ever bumped into a academic expert in your former career, and listen to their theories? lol. I have, Krugman is one of them. They are full of theorems and big headed opinions, but have no practical experience in the field they claim expertise in. Scientists in climate research expect us to accept tree rings and ice cores as evidence of doom and gloom, yet have only lab models to hitch their opinions to. The scientific community is always in a tizzy because other ideas and theories abound. And many except the concept that they don't know everything there is to know about the workings of the universe or planet.

You go right ahead Brew and Neal and mock me and others. I'm not surrendering my world over the anti capsop crowd.
I don't think my response to you was mocking. You're entitled to your wrong ideas, though. So, you think we should just toss all of the scientific methods out the window because your political leanings don't allow for such things as climate models. I haven't noticed anyone on this forum advocating for destroying the economy of the world or forcing people into starvation. What I have seen is people advocating for common sense, an attribute you claim for yourself, in attempting to understand the data and making changes as best we can to offset the possibility of dramatic climate change. Why is that such a bad thing to you?

Neither will I, Pat.

But these are not opinions, they are scientific certainties we're talking about.

You really think Catsup has been scientifically studied to the degree Climate has?

And yes, your political biases have led to to accept rank nonsense as fact without a single legitimate source to back up your opinions.

Exacly what the Koch brothers were hoping would happen. And exactly what the article was claiming.

Why Neal, do you think my take on all of this is politically motivated?

Scientific certainties Brew? I was wondering if you would engage me in a back and forth question and answer session as we explore this a bit. Scientific certainty that is? No trick or gimmicks, just man to man.

Sounds good, Pat.

You'll look for science to back up your position? Or what other basis will you be using?

Go for it.

I promise to do the same.

I'm not a scientist Brew, so my line of questioning will be based on stuff I think is true and on my personal beliefs. I hope you too post what you believe to be true. This might be interesting. I'm also going to ignore any questions from those outside of you. This would be a one on one between you and me. Just two old farts talking. I think I'll start a separate thread so this one remains intact with your original intent.
