Maybe limit the number of posts an individual can make on a thread would limit some of the things Tim is complaining about. While the argumentive ways of some is mildly annoying, I think your being way to sensitive Tim.

Got to admit, this is a good place to learn everyday useful diddies like statist, libertarianism, ad hom, anarcho capitalism and class warfare. My barber is really impressed when I lay one of these puppies on him. My wife says get a like. Hummmm good recommendation.
Now if you just went beyond the mere words you've managed to memorize...oh, but that might lead to discussion.

Are you not perhaps overlysensitive about arguing...on a forum where conflicting views come together? Tim is not arguing against arguing but "WHERE NO ONE ARGUES LIKE THIS" and that is defined as "IT'S BEGINNING TO BECOME NOTHING BUT A FORUM OF FIGHTERS AND NAME CALLERS AND LIARS AND TINY S AND ALL THAT JAZZ. NOTHING GETS DISCUSSED OR LEARNED. I HAVEN'T LEARNED A SINGLE THING HERE EXCEPT HOW SMALL EVERYONE'S S ARE AND THAT THEY ARE ALL LIARS AND CHEATS AND CRAP."

I don't think so. I've seen the negative effects of overly contrary and aggressive tactics on this and other forums. Discussion isn't arguing. We need more of the former and less of the later.

I'm not saying no one should have a debate on something. It's that whenever it goes south for someone, they go to the name calling and insults. It's counter productive at least, and annoying at most.

You know, I don't have much time to learn things. I'd like to spend that time learning instead of watching people fist fight with their keyboards over which one uses too big a word or which one can insult the other the best, or even which one argues that it's no one's business. I learn nothing except contempt for people who aren't on your side of the fence or who want to just use the forum to show they have bigger balls.

That's what I thought you meant, Tim. Like I said, put together a discussion guide and I'll sign up.

Then go to ATC, Tim. They don't allow these kinds of things to go on. It's why most of us are here or on some other political forum. We don't want to be censored. If you do, ATC is your place.
I am, in fact, a member of 8 other forums, Facebook, and Twitter. I don't see anything like this anywhere else. People might discuss things, and it might become heated with counter points or links to show that the other is wrong, but no one there resorts to calling people, "Liars" or talks about "Ad Hom" or even fusses if a big word, or even Latin is used. No pissing contests. And, I learn some things there. But, I know many of you know a few things more than some, and i'd like to learn what you know without having to wade thru the BS like i'm in a Vietnam jungle waiting for some sniper to slam me or someone else.

No discussion guide is needed. Just use your judgement and stop calling names if you lose or win or think you have a larger meat pole that the rest.
