Jim, would it be possible to type more nonsensical hatred in a single line?

Still not your business, Brew. A USA citizen wannabe who spends most of his time peeping in our windows still doesn't have anything meaningful to say.

What are you doing in a thread on Europe Jim? I hold EU citizenship, do you?

Contrary the brewster's class-warfare computations, according to Guess Who Really Pays the Taxes
Quote:

The latest data show that a big portion of the federal income tax burden is shouldered by a small group of the very richest Americans. The wealthiest 1 percent of the population earn 19 percent of the income but pay 37 percent of the income tax. The top 10 percent pay 68 percent of the tab. Meanwhile, the bottom 50 percent—those below the median income level—now earn 13 percent of the income but pay just 3 percent of the taxes. These are proportions of the income tax alone and don’t include payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.

Lies, darn lies and statistics. One uses taxes as a percentage of income, the other uses absolute dollar amounts. Everyone knows or should know that Warren Buffet pays a lot more income tax than his secretary, it's just that he pays a lower rate.

And so, tom? Warren Buffet also contributes more to the economy in terms of creating wealth.

Than his secretary? I should hope so. The question is, does that justify him paying a lower rate? If the answer is yes, that would be advocating a regressive tax system. The proposed flat tax was bad enough. That won't get the bills paid, no matter how small you make government.
