Not you, just commenting on Brews history to place his comments more in perspective.
No, an observation. Obviously many others here get it. Latin impresses doctors & priests, not me. A virtually dead language has little relevance in a modern world. |

I don't know why everyone is saying they will be moving to cut salary costs. I have friends who live there, and from what they've been told, Cat is going to pay a salary that is quite possibly the highest any of them have ever made. So, from the standpoint of what you may think is low pay, to many of them, is comparable to working at an auto plant compared to McDs in many cases. You have to realize that Athens isn't a huge city, but rather a smaller town such as the one I live in. Jobs there aren't of the type that pay as much as many people think. So, this would be a move that those there will find a plus compared to other jobs available within their area, even if it wasn't as much as the original plant they moved from. What those of you who are mocking or downing Cat, you need to research Athens, GA, and see just what job sources are available, even within a 50 mile area. You won't find jobs making as much as they are being told Cat will provide. So, whether they don't pay as much as they did before they move, to these people, it's a gold mine to people who only have had fairly dry rocky holes. Now, take in account, I don't live there, have never lived there, nor have I ever been to this town. But, I do know about 10 people who have done all of the above, and this is the stories they tell. So, a downfall to those who will lose their jobs when they move will still mean a windfall to these people. And, when many of them haven't made as much money, nor have had as many opportunities as they will be able to get, arguing that Cat made a bad decision would, possibly, mean your speaking such things to them while visiting giving you a real knock down, drag out....on you. Just remember....when a tree falls, another will rise from it. So, Cat might leave many out of jobs where they leave, but they'll bring prosperity to many who didn't have those chances before. It might be bad for some, but for others, many more than they will leave behind, it will be a Godsend. And, maybe, just maybe, 500 loses to nearly 1500 gains will offset the bad with at least a lot more good in the long run. |

I was wondering when socialist class warfare would enter this discussion. |

Its all relative Al, cost of living is probably lower there as well, but deflation is the overall trend. That is far worse than inflation in our current economic system. |

Why, another example of common sense you have problems with? Only you would connect the term middle class with socialist class warfare. LOL. |

"Not you, just commenting on Brews history to place his comments more in perspective." So you were saying Brewster was jumping on Brewster? "No, an observation. Obviously many others here get it." No, ad hom, a logical fallacy, and now appeal to popular opinion. Is it just about winning to you? |

Oh, brother. Another discussion thread...ruined by the children fighting over their ball and wagon. You just cannot have a discussion anymore here. I have a dentist who pulls teeth easier, even without anesthesia, and it goes better than this. |
