The economic principle of logic. Any company has to have customers to purchase its products. Those customers have to have enough disposal income to purchase those products and the company still make a profit off them. It's basic capitalism. We have already seen the results of breaking the circle when companies move overseas (read China) for cheaper labor, killing jobs in the country where most of their consumers reside and earn disposable income to purchase their products.

If you can't see the logic in that argument, then I am wasting my time.

I don't have a fancy name or principle for it, but sometimes the fancy economic theories are simply that, fancy talk.

I don't know what the percent cut was in the aircraft industry, but Cat was insisting on 50% in Ontario.
Why did it say it did that--no not your projecting evil motivations on them, what did they say about why they did it?

Oh, yeah, you have me on ignore too.

Logic is not an economic principle, economic principles are logical. And then you declare economics nonsense ("fancy talk").

Yes, basic capitalism. Then you get illogical in assuming economics has borders. Cat's consumers are not its plant workers.

Mike, I just looked up Boeing's wages in SC versus Seattle:

He noted that the average Boeing worker in Washington earned $26 an hour and in South Carolina $18 an hour

That's Huff Post, which I try to avoid as some don't trust it, but until someone gets something better, I'll stick with that.

The drop reported is not 50% of course, only 31%.

I don't know about you, but I'd find a 31% cut a major blow to my standard of living.

On Edit: It's certainly easy to see why many call them the "Right to Starve" states.

Logic trumps economics every time as it does in most fields. Economics is not immune from logic. However, it is useless arguing with someone who prefers to wrap themselves up in Latin Gobbeldey Gook, over common sense.

B4 you start jumping on Brew, I should point out he was management in Telus, so he is not a union hack.

Thanks for the insult. If you had no more to add why post a reply?

Are you talking to me? I didn't jump on brewster, I asked a question. Why misrepresent that?

Paul, while I'm aware that unions can go overboard, as they did occasionally at TELUS, I am also very aware of their benefits, and would never advocate an anti-union policy, which would be one more weapon in the war on the middle class.
