With China's build up of offensive weapon sysyems, are we going to enter a new cold war? If so, is it sustainable for us. How about we cut off Chinese imports and bring all the industry back here and put folks to work?

First of the resources wars, not for hearts and minds, just oil, food and materials!

We'll end up helping Russia contain Chinese incursions in to Siberia, about five years is my guess.

Then we are aiding and abetting the enemy with every made in China purchase. What does China have that we absolutely have to have? What is the value of our exports to China?

What incentives would you offer to bring back industry? Remember, the US GDP is still 25% of the world's total GDP, but it's shrinking. The EU has passed us and China and Japan make up another 17% or so. The industry that has moved overseas is not just sending products to back to the mother country, but making a fortune selling to those international markets. If they are happy with the profits made in those markets and the conditions under which they work where presently located, what will you offer to make them come back to the United States?

Well, one way we might have provided some additional work (estimated 20,000) that doesn't come out of the tax payer's pocket was to continue the pipeline from Canada south and although we don't seem to be allowed to advance our own oil production in the US or keep up with the offshore drilling of other nations we could at least keep much of our continent's oil here. Canada is going to sell it anyway.... to China.

The emotionalism of global warming, oops, climate change alarmists cheer that as a victory.
