Pres Obama just announced an order for 230 Boeing planes while in Indonesia. Add this to last weeks annoncement of Dubai's order for 230 planes. About $50 bil total. Our own carriers aqnd armed services too often opt for foreign airplanes. Thanks Muslims for the business. And thanks to Obama for capturing the Air Fisk order. cool2 http://money.msn.com/business-news/article.aspx?feed=AP&date=20111117&id=14539448

Sounds good. Do they do all their manufacturing in the US? Do they source most of their components here as well?

The assemble major sections and components produced offshore in America. At one time, Boeing made everything here in the states, but like other big corporations, they now outsource overseas much of the stuff that goes in the planes.

What we gain is a few thousand more jobs and job security for those already working.

Are you claiming that nearly $50 Billion in sales will only result in 2000 new jobs?

I didn't say 2000 Thumper but it certainly won't be any more than it will take to assemble any increased production rates.

Depends on contractural delivery dates and configurations of the newly sold planes.
