"Rick Santorum is well known for his deeply conservative views on marriage, gay rights and what kind of sex is acceptable to be having, in general."

That should read social conservative, someone who wants government to enforce his personal religious or ethical views against individual liberty. But how is this any different from the liberal whose personal beliefs about the common good leads him to the same thing, looking to government to enforce that against individual liberty?

I just don't see where government in empowered in the Constitution to regulate anyone's sense of morality.

Rick Santorum shouldn't scare anyone. He probably doesn't stand a snowball's chance of becoming the GOP nominee. I don't know why he is still trying, he just muddies the waters.

I think it will come down to Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. I'd be happy with either, cultism and morality aside of course, as it's better than "not-a-clue."

I worry more about liberal morality. But to get the Republican nod a candidate needs to buy into religious morality like Santorum, Bachmann, Perry and Cain say God told them to run.

I'm not against their personal beliefs, for them.
