Hummmmmmm. Things are not good in Happy Valley. I guess child abuse is generally acceptable. "We want Joe, We want Joe".http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/Penn-State-Joe-Paterno-riot-police-deployed-110911 |

Has Joe Paterno been accused by anyone of abusing children? If not, how does "we want Joe" indicate that " child abuse is generally acceptable?" |

Yep riots rather than disgust over the atrocities committed. You see the same reaction when other dictators are toppled. |

It seems to me that there have been at least two atrocities committed on the Penn State campus. One by an ex assistant coach who has been arrested and the other by the Board of Trustees in their treatment of Joe Paterno. |

Colo, If I saw a stranger raping your wife there is no legal requirement for me to aid her or even call the police. After she was released from the hospital would you defend my reputation since, like Joe, I followed the letter of the law? |

I assume that would place me in the position of the grad student, not Joe Paterno. Did that Grad student attempt to stop the rape, if that is what he say? |

A grad assistant. A GRAD ASSISTANT! A kid who just graduated and began a little job in huge institution. He was at the very bottom of the authority pool. He came upon a "mentor" having sex with a 10 year old. Can you imagine the shock! We said we would have done something at the time. In our youth and lowliness, we would have taken the bull by the horns. Bull! He did what he should have done as a little fish in a big pond. He didn't take it to his immediate supervisor..... he took it to what was to him the very top of the employ he worked for. He took it to Joe Paterno. If anyone is not to be blamed here it is the lowly (at the time) graduate assistant who happen to happen on a sick individual that some far above him already knew about, including the district attorney of center county and state officials who allowed the Second Mile to be continued under the real culprit, Jerry Sandusky. And anyone in that position at that age, at that time in his life, in that setting that says he would have been a hero is BS. Mike McQueary is not the one to be punished for this act of omission. It's beginning to look more and more like there was a cover up in exhange for Sandusky's resignation. A coach with his credentials I would think would be recruited by other schools. Perhaps staying out of school athletic programs was part of the deal. I commentator today said some Penn State students were joking about "getting Sandusky'd). |
