http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/05/rush-limbaugh-republicans-herman-cain_n_1077163.html Maybe Rush should turn his attention to Herman and ask him bluntly why he doesn't lift the gag order and let us all hear and see what really happened. I find Herman's denials to be suspicious since he refuses to allow his accusers to speak in public. |

Rush, according to your link, is criticizing Republicans for engaging in dirty politics. The lawsuits weren't against Cain so he has no say in allowing the women to speak. Edited by Chris, Nov 6 2011, 12:36 AM.

He could ask the restaurant organization to lift the gag, or he could file suit for defamation of character and force the issue into the public domain. he has choices. One woman spoke through her attorney and verbalized the allegations. I guess Cain is relying on the republican faithful to turn it's back on any alleged sexual misbehavior. I wonder if that is a wise decision, or does he believe the far right evangelical community will turn their back on the allegations as well and nominate him. |

No, he can't ask National Restaurant Association to lift it. What I read is the women don't want to come forward either. His campaign is considering a lawsuit. Yes, one of the woman verbalized allegations, an assertion with no facts (like a lot of posts). |

The field narrows. |

I doubt the restaurant association would be willing to part with tens of thousands of dollars on three separate occasions were there not some basis to the allegations. I'm not sure if any of this will result in a narrowing of the field as Herman doesn't seem to have suffered in levels of support. I think his brand of neo conservatism is widely accepted by the republicans. |

Assumptions are good to base conclusions on. I develop software and no matter how perfect your code if you base your design on assumptions about what users want or will do your application will fail. Who knows why the association decided to settle. Yes, Cain is something of a neocon. I don't see the Republican establishment as liking him much because he's somewhat ambiguous on social issues, but primaries are popularity contests and they may have to accept him. |

I think we could go further and say that all political discussions hinge mostly on assumptions. for instance, many assume Herman Cain could beat President Obama. Or assume that Mitt Romney will win the primary and go on to beat President Obama. Or assume President Obama could beat Ron Paul. |

Right, the rhetoric. But we also have their actions, as businessmen or as politicians. Without actions the rhetoric is a crapshoot. |

Americans for prosperity loved him recently, and he declared he was Koch's brother by a different mother. The sexual harrassment allegations are a lot less troubling than the aforementioned.
