Leaks to the press have foiled a surprise attack on Iran by Israel; Think of the uproar if the reverse were true.

Since we have a security arrangement with Israel, I find this shocking and ill advised. The Israeli leader could have drawn us into another bloody middle east war at a time where we are still reeling from the affects of the two still going on.

I haven't seen much publicity or outrage displayed by American media or government officials. I can just imagine the uproar were it Iran caught in the final stages of planning an attack against Israel.

It might be wise for us to officially end any defense related treaties or obligations with Israel.

Iran's leader has openly expressed wishes to "drive Israel into the sea." They are developing all the means necessary to have nuclear weapons to blow Israel into the sea. All the nations surrounding Israel would probably have no objection to that. Would you want to trade places with someone living in Israel? We sure seemed edgy when the USSR was planning (and actually shipping) nukes to Cuba. Israel has tested a missile that would have no difficulty in reaching Tehran. Not a bad message. We sent the same message to Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev.

The problem for Israel, one or two nukes would pretty much wipe them out. Probably no a bad idea to plan ahead...... and we think that they shouldn't take "preemptive" measures knowing that one or two nukes really would wipe Israel off the map??? There are too many antisemetics in the world.

As Obama knows that God wants Congress to pass the jobs bill, he probably is also aware that God wants the US to support Israel; but then, Congress knew that before he did and did show overwhelming support to Netanyahu when he addressed them this past year.

Speaking from years of experience dealing with high level Israeli officials and living in country, I can attest to the fact that they are(for the most part) arrogant, US hating, untrustworthy and disgusting people. I have absolutely no use for them individually or as a nation. We should terminate all support immediately. Let them sink or swim on their own merit.

Ban,

If you are in support of Israel, just maybe you can also accept the fact that Iran has a reason to fear the west and in particular Israel... a country that has already attacked them once.

Since it appears to be acceptable that our country, Britain, France, India, China, Russia, former Soviet states, and Israel possess nuclear weapons then let's consider which of the nations listed has posed the most threat to other nations? Which has been the more aggressive. And which has been willing to resort to nuclear weapons in a conflict? The answer is the United States.

Israel wants to destroy Iran's capability to develop nuclear weapons. In reality, the country they should fear the most on the world stage is us. We have abandoned past friendship in the middle east and then turned right around and invaded their country. I'm surprised the those who fear war and possible nuclear escalation have not demanded we rid ourselves of nuclear weapons. Would you go along with such a request?

I somehow don't think Israel fears the US over it's local enemies. I wonder if Mrs S had a choice now, would she rather have the Jews as a minority population in her land or would she rather have their present growing Muslim population. Who would Germany consider more of a threat to their way of life now, and which would be more of an economic contributer, the Muslims or the Jews they sent packing?

The Israeli Jews have returned to the land of their ancestors. They are going to defend themselves, this time to the very end. Maybe they do demonstrate arrogance now. For too many years (centuries) they have been too submissive and it's never gained them any security. You could say the US has shown arrogance. Also Europe for sure. Even Canadians are not without their arrogance. There is not much meekness in the modern world anymore.

Ban, I don`t know what your question intends.... neener ....but here`s an answer:

Actually I don`t care about someone`s religion...

What I care about, is the respect one shows toward the laws and the ( Christian ) traditions of my country.

Well, if ancestors are an entitlement for occupying land, I sure hope the Huns from the Volga River don`t get the same idea and stay were they are!

From a link in the initial link:

The newly retired head of Israel's fabled Mossad spy agency ( Dogan, one of the suspected leaks ) has turned his sights toward Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, repeatedly criticizing the Israeli leader's approach to Iran and the Palestinians.

Even an Israeli hardliner criticizes Netanyahu`s politics......

PS: Did the US - Israel`s biggest ally - know of the plans?
