More details continue to emerge surrounding the sexual harassment allegations leveled at GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain. According to a report from The New York Times, one of Cain's accusers was paid a year's salary in severance following an alleged incident involving the former Godfather's Pizza CEO. From the Times: The National Restaurant Association gave $35,000 - a year's salary - in severance pay to a female staff member in the late 1990s after an encounter with Herman Cain, its chief executive at the time, made her uncomfortable working there, three people with direct knowledge of the payment said on Tuesday. The Times provides further details on the alleged encounter. "Four people with contemporaneous knowledge of the incident said the encounter had taken place in the context of a work outing during which there was heavy drinking, a hallmark, they said, of outings with an organization that represents the hospitality industry," reports the paper. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/01/herman-cain-accuser-severance_n_1070698.html ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ We lack morality and ethics in our government yet the Republicans have embraced and are defending a candidate with what appears to be a history of sexual harassment. The lady involved is seeking a release from a gag order so she can speak out and tell her story. Is this the type of person and level of sound judgment the Republicans want as their banner holder? Does Herman possess the morals and values that the right embrace and promote? A Republican version of Bill Clinton? |

Why do you from "allegations" jump to "Yet another republican with questionable morals"? |

Are we going to discuss why I alluded to past republican politicians involved in sexual controversy, or the fact that Herman is under attack for having sexually harassed some women? If the later, then it would not be hard to put names and faces to the statement I made. The list is not small. But I think this goes further than Herman's past but rather speaks to the level of morality and ethics that republicans will settle for in a candidate. After all, it was the religious right who dominate the party who were front and center in admonishing former President Bill Clinton. |

Everybody. But to call the Republicans on it while applauding the Democrats for it is hypocritical. |

Yep there is a lot of jumping to conclusion. Maybe what really need confronting is the hypocrisy of Christians in general for choosing which or should I say whom to admonish and whom to give a pass. Based on political aspirations or agendas. |
