Oh my, you have found an interesting article Thumper that speaks directly to what we are seeing erupt all around us. A generation of Ameircans who have woken up to the realization that they live in a rigged society where the corporations hold all the winning hands in the game before the cards are even shuffled and dealt.

Student loans impossible to pay back, jobs relocated to foreign lands, a wage system wherein the worker shares very little of the pie, where decent healthcare is reserved for the wealthy. Where corporations can be bailed out of bankruptcy by the government and the leaders richly rewarded with bonuses for failure...that even the stockholders have no say over. Yet the college graduate can neither go bankrupt on the student loan or the credit car dept that piled up as they sought employment.

Will there be a populist uprising?

There is: Democrats Bet on Populism
Quote:

Democrats have been rediscovering their inner populist lately. President Obama is calling on the wealthiest Americans to pay their “fair share” in taxes. Elizabeth Warren, campaigning for the Senate in Massachusetts, has become a rising star by bluntly criticizing the business class. And the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent out a petition last month aimed at leveraging the Occupy Wall Street movement against the Republican Party.

This populism isn't entirely misplaced, corporations are too powerful. Eventually the uprising will realize who gave corporations their power.

I know the OWS protesters and those of other like thinking protests were to be movements lacking cohesive leadership or organized continuity. Yet we now see labor unions and old school democrat special interests trying to gain a voice and control over the movement. What a shame indeed.

I find it appalling that either major party would stoop so low as to attempt any type of association and camaraderie with the very folks they oppressed and were the first cause of grievance and the anguish felt by the protesters.

Maybe we will witness a backlash against the democrats for having such nerve.

Colbert did a funny satire of big money trying to buy into OWS.

I can see it now, a fella holding up a protest sign against corporate abuse, with the corporate trademark of a sponsor on his t-shirt.

Today's rally sponsored by Bank of America.

More like a protester buying lunch with a BoA debit card while he calls hope on his iPhone from AT&T to see if his Chevy has the new Michelins on it.
