Maimonides, and other Jewish scholars, I heard today, from a Jewish person, ethnically at least, believed that the first few commandments should be left out as not related to moral interaction with others, that religion is not defined by belief, since all beliefs vary, relativistically, but on practice alone, ethical practice.
