Creation "science" has never been about learning how the universe, earth, life and evolution all came about. It is only concerned with proving Genesis correct; and not just correct, but the absolute correctness in every word of Genesis. This is why creation "science" is anything BUT science.

Most creationist organizations REQUIRE an affirmation of their statements of faith. This from the Creation Research Society:

Quote:

Membership requires agreement with the CRS Statement of Belief and includes subscriptions to both the Creation Research Society Quarterly (CRSQ; 4 issues: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring) and the Creation Matters popular publication (usually 6 issues). Institutions (such as schools, libraries, churches, etc.) or individuals who cannot in good conscience agree with the statement of belief can purchase a subscription to the CRS Quarterly without membership.

And their statement of belief:

Quote:

CRS Statement of Belief

All members must subscribe to the following statement of belief:

1. The Bible is the written Word of God, and because it is inspired throughout, all its assertions are historically and scientifically true in the original autographs. To the student of nature this means that the account of origins in Genesis is a factual presentation of simple historical truths.

2. All basic types of living things, including man, were made by direct creative acts of God during the Creation Week described in Genesis. Whatever biological changes have occurred since Creation Week have accomplished only changes within the original created kinds.

3. The great flood described in Genesis, commonly referred to as the Noachian Flood, was an historic event worldwide in its extent and effect.

4. We are an organization of Christian men and women of science who accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The account of the special creation of Adam and Eve as one man and one woman and their subsequent fall into sin is the basis for our belief in the necessity of a Savior for all mankind. Therefore, salvation can come only through accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Not sure what it is, but what it isn't is science.

Pre-conceptual scientist, lol. Fits Creationists, heck most religionists, and many opinionists.

I work with a guy--we develop databases, applications for desktop and Web--and everything he does he defends as "best practice". He'd build out an app with three layers: data layer, business layer, and presentation layer--basically get data, apply business rules, and display to user. I argued we didn't need a business layer as we had no rules to apply. But it's best practice! I made him remove it. Blind faith. BTW, he's also a Creationist, though we don;t discuss that unnecessary level!
