~Shadow of the Past~
There was a earth-shattering howl from a monster as the heavy blade cut into its heavy hide. It tried to remain upright but collapsed to the floor and felt its own lifeforce leaving its body. Another, a smaller insect-like fiend rushed the human, its claws outstretched and ready to slash at the young man's torso. The claws scrapped the armor and the fiend bounced back and regained its balance on the ground. It snarled and flashed its fangs at the armored figure.

Noah sighed, this was about the fifth monster, or 'fiend' as these people called them, that he had came across in the past half hour. He rose the Nightmare again and swung it hard, the thick blade connecting the the fiend's neck. There was a distinctive and loud crack as the fiend's bones broke followed by a thud as its lifeless body hit the ground. Without resting or regaining himself fully, the Judge quickly scanned the area and concluded that there weren't any of these monsters left. He let out a sign of relief and holstered the Nightmare onto the holster on his back, finally glad to be getting a break.

He walked forward and looking at the ruins before him. The architecture reminded him a little of Pharos at Ridorana and he found that similar-looking structures to the Pharos would be the best place to start looking for a way back. He lifted his hand to his neck, undone the helmet couplings and lifted the thick armored helmet off his head and placed it onto a small flat rock surface just beside him. He looked at the ruins again, this time with his own eyes and noticed the similarities in the architecture. Knowing that he had all the time in the world, more or less, he decided to take have a rest. He undone the holster on his back and placed it against the rock surface where his helmet sat. He sat on the ground, one leg outstretched while the other remain folded. Both his arms stretched and connect the ground, proving him with some balance. He looked up into the sky and listened to the quiet sounds of nature. He smiled, "Maybe this world isn't so bad after all".

Tidus was wandering down the Mi'hen Highroad, having just finished off a game in Luca and decided hey, why not reward one's self with a walk up then back down the highroad where he encountered many a fiends in the past! Okay in truth he felt he could have done better in the Blitzball Game, so he was placiing it upon himself to physically train more.

"Man.. its like I lost some of my skill when I went to the farplane and all that." He grumbled, shaking his head and brushing a strand of blonde hair from his eyes as he was steadily approaching the ruins Noah was nearby. On Tidus's back was a shimmering blue blade of many colors.

It was the blade known as the Brotherhood (I think its what its called..), the blade Wakka gave his brother Chappu to use but never did.. instead having used a machina weapon back then. But Tidus cherishes the blade and doesn't go anywhere without it now..

Noah glanced at the ruins once more, his eyes staring at it as if they would reveal the complete answer to him all at once. He sighed and closed his eyes, returning to listening to the quiet sounds around. His relaxation was interrupted when his ears picked up a new sound. It wasn't natural. That could only mean one of two things. Either that was another traveler or a fiend.

Not wanting to risk it, the Judge stood up and grabbed the Nightmare from its holster, leaving his helmet where it was. He started walking towards where the noises were coming from. Footsteps was all he could think that noise could be. He took a deep breath and readied himself to jump round the corner.

In one quick movement, the Judge turned his body and turned the corner, raising the Nightmare at the same time. He came face-to-face with a young blonde haired boy. The boy carried a sword on his back but appeared to have no intention of using it. The Judge, not lowering his sound, said in a calm and cool voice, "Who are you?"

Tidus stumbled back as this heavily armored man or knight came appearing from the corner, shocked to see a huge, hulking broadsword being pointed at him. Swiftly he pulled his own blade from his back, getting in his usual fighting stance.

"I could ask you the same question!" He rebuked. Who was this guy, and what was with the armor..? It seemed very unlike any enemy he's ever faced. And that sword.. which he didn't know yet was named Nightmare.. it was huge!! And he was holding it with one hand!

All Tidus knew though was that if a fight ensued, it would be a brutal one.

Noah showed now weakness towards the enemy. Truth be told, the young man was tired. Although the Nethicite helped him to hold the Nightmare in one hand, it would still take him a while to swing it numerous times in a row. The Judge kept his stance then hesitatingly lowered his sword, but only by a little.

"I am Judge Magister Validus but in this world I'm known by my real name, Noah Weinberg", came his reply. He decided that to defuse the situation before it started a fight that one of them would have to give up some information first. He kept the Nightmare raised at the same point.

He didn't let his facial expression or body language change and remained in a defensive stance, "And you would be?"

Tidus felt a bit easier though a plentora of new questions opened up. A judge? What kind of judge wore armor and had huge-ass swords?! He would question this later, but only after he too showed no signs of being an enemy while placing his weapon back onto his back.

"Tidus.. was one of Yuna's guardians when she went on her quest to defeat Sin." He said. Would Noah even know what he was talking about? If so, then perhaps Tidus would be known not only as one of her past guardians, but also the one whose dating the High Summoner. Who the heck knows at this point, Tidus was still trying to contemplate whether this guy was really a "judge"...

Seeing the young man holstered his sword, Noah felt that he should do the same. He walked back to the rock and place the Nightmare into its holstered, leaving his helmet there once again. Putting it on would be pointless and counterproductive to his point of trying to stop a fight between the two of them. He then turned to look at Tidus, the boy hadn't taken his eyes off Noah since they both came face-to-face.

He found that strange. Back in Ivalice, no one would dare stare at a Judge Magister let alone raise arms towards one. He mused over this fact which considered to let out a small chuckle. He sighed, took a deep breath and got ready for another confusing conversation.

"My apologies...I'm still unfamiliar with alot of this world", he said nervously though he tried his best to hide that nervousness. He relaxed his body and smiled, "What exactly is a 'guardian'? and who is Yuna?", came the Judge's reply. He still had alot to learn about this world.

Tidus was surprised by all of Noah's words. And he hasn't come to understand all about this 'world' yet? What was he, a lifeform from another planet? Or maybe he was like Tidus, and was an unsent or dream from a long time ago.

"A guardian is a person who protects a summoner on her pilgrimage to Zanarkand. Before, pilgramages were made to that place to get what's called the Final Aeon.. but Yuna, the High Summoner right now, defied all of Spira's beliefs and defeated Sin without the use of the Final Aeon.. with me and everyone else's help of course."

He knew he might as well have only been giving partial information that Noah could use at this point, but eh.. he was saying what came to mind.

Noah nodded and mused on what Tidus had just told him. There was the mention of Sin again. Seemed whatever this 'Sin' was it had cause alot of damage and bother for many people. The Judge touched the side of his head slightly and winced. Damnit not another one. Another flash of his past.

This time, he was a young boy. He was running from something. He looked up and saw airships had finally stopped fighting. There one huge one...it was called the Bahamut if he reminded correctly. It had started falling onto the paling, a magical barrier. There was a loud crash and the flash stopped.

He opened his eyes again and looked at Tidus, "My apologies again...you must have questions for me, no?", the Judge smiled again, "Feel free to ask and I'll tell you as much as I can". That was the half truth. He wouldn't give out anything important about Ivalice or the Empire. He would answer to the best of his ability though.

Tidus looked at Noah for a bit, nodding his head while waving a hand in gesture. "Your turn, where did you come from? What's it like 'there'?" He asked curiously, walking over while sitting down nearby, deciding if this was story hour he would sit down darnit. (XDD)
