Aside from the server issues it seems pretty sweet.

I thought about it. Then I realized I'd have to do things with other people and lost interest. I guess that's kind of sad, but I did enough raiding in WoW that the thought makes me want to projectile vomit.

Not even sure if it's the same set up, I'm just stuck on the "MMO" part.

so this confirms a complete lack of offline playability?

If you're asking me, I assumed it would be online only as an MMO. If it isn't then that increases my interest by a huge amount.

Yeah, i knew it was potentially online only, since it's MMO, but it's not a horrible idea to think that it could've had some AI in it.

While I don't mind the idea of MMOs, I do find them incredibly lazy in design and therefore unappealing to me. Complex AI is a wonderful thing, and giving that role to a human is .....meh.

I remember when that spy MMO was going to come out on PS3....Agent, I believe it was called. Terrible idea because games like that are fun because you can stealth around with the AI.

Replace the AI with a human, and you've got "guards" running amuck, looking for anything and everything. I used to say to people "how many of you are going to play the role of the pacing guard?"

Some games just need AI, and mission based shooters would qualify for that.

Finally, I don't like the idea of paying for a game, that is as playable as long as the devs allow it.

Which is why I am scared about next gen if the "always online" thing applies..

I nabbed it for PC. Might pick up a copy for PS3 if I can talk my dad, brother, or sister into playing it also. It's pretty decent - nothing life-changing or anything, but it's decent for people like me who want an MMO shooter that focuses primarily on PvE stuff and co-op. Heck, I started making a guide on Steam of all the different types of scopes you can throw on a gun, since I couldn't find anything like it online.

I bought it as a blind purchase. Never played an MMO before.

Didn't like it to begin with, but a few days in, we and a mate did an 'Arkfall' and it flashed me back to Download Festival 2007 running around starting fires (hold with me).

Basically, for the Arkfalls, there are about four or five big missions to do in a small area then the last one unlocks. The cool thing on this is that when one of the missions ends, you get this SWARM of people charging towards your location to help you fight the next one.

At Download, I stood and watched two guys lovingly spend about twenty minutes making a sustainable fire using pizza boxes, it was quite nice to see. Then there was enough of a roar to get me to look up the hill... What did I see? At least seventy people charging down towards my position shouting and chanting "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" and all of a sudden every member of said charging group came equipped! Everyone had something inflammable in their arms to throw into the fire! It went from about 20cm to 2m in less than a minute! Everyone running around it as it got bigger and bigger! Then, when the Marshals finally came over, the next fire was located and I was now running towards the next one joining in the chorus of "FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!"

Defiance brought that back for me, put me in touch with people thinking the same thing at the same time (and I'll ignore the fact that my first Arkfall made my console crash thirty seconds before the end. After about thirty to forty minutes of the fight with hundreds of other people, this was easily the most gutting and anti-climactic gaming experience this year...)

I'm enjoying it a lot. I'm pretty much just a loan renegade roaming the countryside. When I see that others are fighting a few mutants or doing a mission I just hop off the dune buggy....assist... Then ride of into the sunset to look for more adventures.

Much like my real life. All adventure and mystery....all the time.

I do. I have the same username on there that I do here - and same main character, to boot! I usually play when I get home from work - around maybe 6 PM EST or so until around 10 or 11 PM EST. If you have Steam, just add me through there or something and you can see when I'm playing, we can meet up or something in-game.

I'm working on the missions around Topnotch Toolworks story-wise. Haven't been much further south. I also have newer guys if you want me to use one of them and pal around some of the early story areas.

It has A.I in it. It isn't just PvP, the co op maps are all mission based.

Unless that's not what you meant in which case....pay me no mind. ;)
