I bought the new Metal Gear game from the Microsoft store because it came with a 1600 point card. When I read the fine print, it said code would be sent once the game was shipped. Of course, this did not happen, so when I got the game, I noticed my order status said "complete" and I still had no code. I went through the online chat customer support (which is actually quite good), and the rep told me that I should get the code for the points within 5-7 days are getting the game. It was not what the original find print said, but I thanked the rep and logged off. About a half hour later, I got an e-mail from the rep and he said he talked to someone else, and escalated the issue and he gave me the online coupon to redeem for 20 bucks on the story. I bought a card on the store, applied the coupon, and it rang up as 0 so all was good. They e-mailed my the number and I added the points and that was that. So, low and behold, yesterday I got the system generated e-mail from Microsft with the code, thanking me for my Metal Gear purchase. So I be honest and delete the message (please stop laughing!) So, looks like I got Metal Gear for 20 bucks. |

I'd tell 'em about it. They won't ask for it back or anything, but Microsoft has awarded me for honesty before. Well, kinda. I got a scammer who kept emailing me with really intricate "Offers for Windows computers from Microsoft." Like these emails looked super real, but I was smart enough to track down the source and it was this really sketchy site. So I called MS, told em about it, and they gave me a code for 400 MSPs. Not a huge bonus, but I helped stop some scumbag =p |

In the end, Microsoft was more clever than I thought. I look at the code, and was thinking to myself : that code looks familiar. It was the same one that the support rep sent me, and can only be used once. |

Ha! They probably just pulled your records and gave you the code they were going to give you instead of generating a new one. =p~ |

Yeah, in the end, I got Metal Gear for 40 bucks, and the code came at perfect time since this huge sale is going on. I bought Puzzle Quest 2, even though it was NOT on sale...I played the first one to death. I might get the Might and Magic Dark Messiah game |

Microsoft is actually quite generous with their stuff. Back during the original Xbox days I'd come home from law school and find boxes of games that I didn't even request waiting for me at my door. I miss those days. |
