So, yeah, thought this was kind of cute. I came home from work on Tuesday to find out that my son was busy all afternoon making me some custom magic cards for my deck. Sorry - still cannot figure out how to just insert an image from flicker directly into this post. Front http://www.flickr.com/photos/28411423@N08/8410635681/ Back http://www.flickr.com/photos/28411423@N08/8411732492/ If you can make it out, you can see that the card on the left is a 5/5 black creature and a legend : If I recall correctly, when it attacks, all other attacking creatures get a +5/+5. My son is a BIG fan of legendary creatures. The middle card is a 2/2, and I forget what it does. The card on the right was a spell that did some kind of direct damage. I thought they were pretty clever, and I really like how he actually drew the back of the cards. Kids are so much more creative than us adults Edited by MrMikeNC, Jan 24 2013, 10:52 AM.

Haha...thanks. Our kids are great, and also very weird, but that's fine. My son now anxiously awaits a copy of the "Guide to Snakes of North America and Canda" to come in the mail. He is obsessed with reptiles. He gets his brains from his mother, and all his games/magic/play time creativity from me. My daughter imitates what my sone does, so she is really funny too. Good thing mom makes sure she does girly stuff too. They were playing "zombie tag" at the enery center (a large kids playroom at the gym we go to) on Tuesday. I have no idea how they works, but we asked them to not play it with 3 and 5 year olds again. Not sure what the parents will think of us....haha. |

Your son is badass. I know this for a fact, because I drew Magic cards and was way into reptiles as a kid and I'm badass

I've always wanted to get into Magic but never had cards nor friends to play with. I had Yugioh cards but same problem with no friends. Plus the game isn't nearly as balanced as in the show, at least not unless you're a professional player who really knows how to build a deck. |

Yeah, that would be too powerful. It was probably based on the enchantment card I used the other night "Bad Moon", which gives all black creates a +1/+1, and at the time a had a 5/5 legend on the board called "Sol'kanar the Swamp King" who has swampwalk and gains me 1 life point whenever I cast a black spell. I will say, some of these new Magic card sets have some way too powerful cards, and with cheap casting costs, too! It makes my Shivan Dragon no longer a menace on the board. I also have a ridiculous legend who is a 1/1 red creature, but when he attacks (or blocks), all other creatures that attack (or block) get +*/+* where * is the number of attacking/blocking creature |

Check out the XBLA games. They're fairly limited with the decks, sure... but it's worth that just to chop the other bullshit out. Everything is (mostly) fair and you don't have to continuously buy more cards. |

That's what makes this game so great. I mean not the overpowering thing, but the combos like that. And yes, they keep getting better and they don't get all that much more complex. That's what I like about this game, everything is very straight forward and the wording is very literal. For example, "creature takes no damage" So there's no question about something that was attacking that had lifelink, where damage inflicted is given to the owner as health. There was no damage, which is different than if it was something that regenerates or something. |

Might I suggest looking into a game called "Dominion"? |

Okay I just played a quickie match of Dominion with a computer. I couldn't figure out what the curse cards did (probably missed it in the rules somewhere) but it's pretty fun once you figure out what you're doing. lol |

Wait I see. Curse cards count as minus one victory. But what's the point in buying a curse card? |

You never buy a curse card. Sometimes a card is played (The Witch) which forces all other players to draw one curse card. That's the beauty of Dominion - each game can be randomized as to what sets of cards are in play. :-) |

What's the point of having a "buy curse card" functionality if you don't wanna do it? It's cost is even 0 suggesting it's something you want early on or something. |

So I'm gonna say this in a place Winternova can see: I absolutely hate Witch and Militia when I'm not the one using it. Especially when Witch is used after Throne Room. Fuck that. |
