Do you use the hot mustard? I didn't for a long time, just didn't like that taste. But now I love it. |

Ooohhh YES!!! One of my favorite things! I about drown the rice in it, especially. My mom got us some of the powder to mix it here ourselves from some place down where she is; trick is getting the mix of powder and water right, to have the right consistency. Dan invaribly uses too much and ends up doing the "hot mustard dance" as we call it, after getting a mouthful. |

When it comes to packets, everything is secondary next to hot mustard. Unless I'm at some nice place and they have wasabi |

Maga uses this stuff called Rocoto pepper any time I eat at her place. It's a paste, it's pretty hot. Nice to mix in with stuff like rice and chicken though. Sometimes she stuffs the actual Rocoto pepper. It's hot. |

Haha, part of the reason my mom sends up the powder mix is because the places here are so stingy with the packets. One lady nearly yelled at me once when I asked for a bunch more than the two they gave. Felt like Oliver Twist asking for more gruel.

The other thing I OD on-- the orange creamy sauce at Japanese restaurants. Don't even know what it is really called as they always know what I'm referring to when I ask for it by describing it. |

I was just getting ready to write on my last post, they never give you enough. "What kind of sauce you want?" Hot mustard please!!! "Throws one packed in the bag* "Any duck, soy sauce?" Hey load me up on the hot mustard! "Oh ok! You like hot mustard!" *throws 1 more packet into the bag* *staredown* |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duck_sauce Love that stuff too, but I usually drown my stuff in red sweet and sour sauce. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_and_sour_sauce Cap: Haven't tried hot mustard yet, but I know someone who mixes hot mustard with sweet and sour sauce and uses it for a dip. |

Another that makes my mouth water thinking about it: hot and sour soup. If you like spicy stuff, try it if you haven't. Places can make it quite differently though. |

Ya very true. Some places just can't do some dishes right. Other take-out places act like they are some gourmet restaurant that can justify charging double for the same shit or worse. |

I cannot stand that when they get all crazy about the packets. If the food is so-so in the first place then I'll not go back. And yeah, hot sour soup is great. I've only had it at one place and I love it. |

This one awesome guy I used to work with, he was maybe in his 50's and he looked like Keith Richards. We worked together a lot on some pretty rough jobs, he was really funny and I miss working with him. Anyway, this one place we'd order Chinese from, had this lady who was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally pissed off, all the time, when you called on the phone. All it really took was you slowing her down, by asking her a question or something for her to start getting pissed off at you. So it would always be a thing trying to get the other one to actually call it in, because we knew it would be a battle. The next huge decision was who was going to pick it up. Sometimes when he'd call, I'd keep changing my order to him as he was on the phone with her, so she would get pissed at him because I knew how she was. It was really funny watching his reaction. So the one day he gets back at me, when I was calling in the order. He was really loud to begin with, and he just starts screaming out the names of these dishes and laughing, as I'm trying to tell the lady what I want in my best behavior, and of course she got progressively angrier with me. He was really funny and I miss him. |
