I like Daniel Tosh really. It's nice to see a white comedian have the balls to make race jokes ( something it seems only Black or Asian comics can get away with now days).
Generally speaking, race-based jokes are fine.

However, a rich white kid laughing at the expense of poor black kids does not equal comedy, to me.

Nothing is off limits when comedy is concerned IMO.

Rich white kids are the butt of many black comedian's jokes so I really don't see a difference.

I disagree. There is certainly a moratorium on tragedy while it's happening and shortly thereafter.

I can sympathise with your reasoning, but the difference is that people WANT to be rich, not poor.

Doesn't matter. Nobody escapes humor, rich black comedians do " ghetto jokes" all the time...should they stop too? Where does it end?

Maybe for some. While I may not find some of it funny i am all for comedians telling any jokes they please...I don't buy into the " too soon" shit. Shows like South Park would damn near cease to be if they did that.

Me neither.

I just don't find Tosh very funny. The fact that his comedy is aimed at Rich White kids, is something I dislike about him, but it's not the reason I don't find him funny - I just don't think he's very clever.

There IS a line, though - Parker and Stone know it, too.

...it's why you didn't see a 9/11 episode right after the attacks, or a tsunami episode after the seaquake, and so on.

Nah, no line... just sensitive people. I'm a big fan of turning the channel if something is on that I may find offensive. I wish others did the same.

That's a cultural trope.
There are many cultures around the world where people are overly sensitive about what is 'proper' and there are those who are not. (ultimately, it's all about different levels of repression) America is something of a mixed bag, but there are definitely a significant number of people who adhere to the idea of being 'proper'.

Just seems like common sense to me. If I don't enjoy something I turn the channel. I don't like Sarah Silverman or Bill Mahr myself so I simply grab the remote when I see em. :)
