Yeah, so as I am cleaning up the dinner dishes, the son decides he wants to show off his whistling technique.

Of course mom tries to whistle and she sucks at it, so daddy is put on the spot to whistle.

There is only one thing that entered my brain..

whistle

I did a pretty good job

This was one of my favorites

The reason is, at first I just thought it was a little out of place. As I played through the game, and heard the song before I played each chapter, it started fitting better and better and better. It's just right, I love that song and now I want to play that game again.

Yeah, Gorilla - did you hear about the HD remaster with extra content coming out next year? I will definitely get.

Ok, off to the gym now...gotta keep this old body in some semblance of decent shapre.

Wow didn't even know about it... that's awesome. Just googled it:

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/08/deadly-premonition-being-remastered-for-ps3-with-move-support/

Man I really need to get a PS3 soon. Way of the Samurai 4 being released on it was a biggie for me, I'd like to play Yakuza too, now this, and probably a shitload of downloadable games that I would love. There's probably a bunch more, I just don't follow the games on PS3 because I don't have one.

^Definitely give Journey a try whenever you do get a PS3, it's probably one of the most atmospheric games i've ever played.

I keep forgetting about Journey. Gotta play that one of these days.

Dyad is pretty interesting too, but I think it's a bit overpriced. $15 is too much unless you really fall in love with it. Should be about $5.

I've avoided buying Deadly Preminition all this time now, I'm not going to fall for it now.

Yeah, I am most likely going to buy the new Deadly Premonition.

And if my Gamefly queue works correctly, I should be getting the PS3 collection that has Journey, Flower and 1 other game in it. I hate the PSN and it deserves the knocks it gets, and the GUI is not as good as what Xbox offers, but no reason to avoid getting a PS3 if you can find the cash. Tons of great games, like the Yakuza series. Some overrated exclusives, like Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid, Heavenly Sword, but still tons of great games.

I want to try Heavy Rain. Heavenly Sword and Metal Gear looks awesome too. I remember the first Metal Gear, that was the last one I played.

Any cool beat-em-ups? Or the same ones as 360

Arucard went decades without knowing how to whistle. Then, one day, he attempted to whistle along with a song in his favorite game, Deadly Premonition. Naught but spit did come out at first, as was usual for such attempts. But try and try he did until, rather unexpectedly, a tune emerged. The heights of his joy then forever remained unsurmounted.

Gorilla -

Yakuza is basiically the one beat em up that the PS3 has over the Xbox.

I don't say this lightly, but Yakuza is better than the GTA series, in my humble opinion. The games may not be as open and free roamish as GTA, but the content overall by far puts the GTA series to shame, and the stories are right up there with what Dan Houser of Rockstar puts out. I might even call it better.

You cannot look at Rockstar's side activities with a straight face after you have played pool, darts, ping pong, bowling, massage parlor, karaoke, golf, fishin, sega arcade games or the batting cages in Yakuza. And then, of course, you just go up to the bar, order a drink, and get to read REAL information about the alcohol. And then of course, you have the clubs to pick up girls. And once you max out their friendship you get thier card, and then you can call them up for a date and play the games against them.

And I always prefer settling thing with my fists over guns.

And as far as those other games - I hated Metal Gear because the load times are ridiculous, and the gameplay is still the same stubborn gameplay of the past. It kills it for me, and I think I am just burnt out on the series and the convoluted story.

Heavy Rain was a decent rental. I hate QTE games, but I knew what I was getting into with this. The problem was, in my opinion, I hated the story it told. It had too many plot holes and red herrings, and a lot of it was just poorly implement across a video game format. Being a parent, I hated the cringy worthy way they set up the family tragedy - it was terrible and very unrealistic. This is why I have said in the past that the opening scene of Nier did more to set up tragegy than Heavy Rain did in it's entirety.

Heavenly Sword is another overrated exclusive. Ninja Theory just flat out sucks at making gameplay, and this is why I worry about DMC. The character models are great, but like Enslaved, the story is just stupid and full of holes. And for a game that gets a lot of praise, it is glitchy as hell, and there is a lot of sloppy editing.

Heavenly Sword and especially Enslaved are amazing and I'll fight you until you agree Mike.

Haha. Well, they were both weekend rentals for me and I beat them both, so they at least compelled me enough to see them through.

Heavenly Sword was just a tad bit too boring in the gameplay department, and with Enslaved I couldn't stand the automatic pilot Monkey would go on when it came to platforming. It was just useless filler to bridge the gap between the poor combat. I also hated that Monkey would throw Trip up a 10 foot high ledge, yet he could not just run up the wall right after her. Nope. He had to scale around a quarter of a mile of building, ledges and whatnot, just so the enemies could go after her and you would need to rescue her. Blah. Since you like them so much, I wont go into what I hated about the story...haha.

Both games did look gorgeous, no doubting that.

Sadly, no.

I really just didn't like GTA IV at all. It looks gorgeous, but I hated the game. I hated Niko, I didn't like how he gets off the boat and 2 minutes later whining about how "hard" it is to get by in America and goes into crime. Typical anti-government Houser stuff, and like the Metal Series, I think I am burnt out on the series. I also didn't care for Roman, Little Jacob, and coudn't stand Brucie. So yeah. And after playing Yakuza, like I said I just cannot take the side activities in GTA seriiously.

I have sort of turned into a Saints Row kinda guy when it comes to this formula, but I will say I love Red Dead Redemption. I got a bit bored in Mexico, but the game ended nicely, and I loved the zombie DLC. After putting 40+ quality hours into Saints Row 3, I decided to give GTA IV another shot. Dammit, the graphics look even BETTER after playing Saints Row 3. I just cannot get into the game and story. I do feel guilty about it, after being a GTA fan for so long, and really think at some point I need to put some into the GTA IV complete edition.

I'm playing Journey now, pretty good.

I had a guide join in for awhile, that was great. I should have finished the game while he/she was in but I had to leave. Now I miss him/her!

I've started Journey too; it is really neat, though also sort of wondering what exactly the devs were smoking. :D It is a little frustrating that they make communication so difficult though I know that is part of the appeal. I was wandering around the bridge stage last time I played trying to take things in and figure it all out myself, and some person is running circles around me and chirping like a loon... ^o)
