I'm 34, and sure it's late in the game, but I got em first shot with a score of 98/103 (i think it's my best test result out of anything in my life, and one of the most important) Being epileptic, I chose not to drive for the majority of my years, but with my nursing job and hoping to get into home care, i need to be able to get around. When Bec's mum said "you can have this care if you want to get your license"... well, I didn't want to pass up a free car, so I committed. Best thing, I only got one professional lesson, and he spent more time trying to get me to steer a different way and crawling at 20km/h which fucking pissed me off and ruined my confidence. he said I wasn't ready and prepared 5 lessons for me. i should call him. But yay, P's and I can drive on my own and it's less hassle for Bec with picking me up when i do the night shift. yay yay yay yay yay yay I just needed to share because I don't have anyone nearby apart from Bec and my brother so I wanted to tell someone. |

A heartfelt congrats to my Aussie friend! Just... don't get your pilots license, ok? Don't need you handling any TIE fighters. ![]() My aunt is epileptic. It's so bad for her that she's unable to drive at all. It seems to be especially bad when she gets anxiety, and every time she's tried to get behind the wheel, she suffered a fit. Also, my cousins cat is epileptic... Didn't know cats could get that. |

Thanks mate, and i'm lucky enough that my epilepsy is very well controlled via medication with the biggest triggers being lack of sleep (which i seem to do alot of), but i've had no issues with anxiety, particularly behind the wheel. And dang, i was really angling for a TIE fighter license. As to the cat, yeah they can get it too. An old mate of mine had small dog that was epileptic. Thing used to sprint across the backyard, slam into the fence and have seizure as a result. Poor thing. |

Nah, even while I was on my learner license (requiring Bec to be with me), i never came close to an accident and I do drive aggressively, but safely. I think the most important step in my learning, was developing an almost organic connection with the car in that I know it's limits, I know when it will spin and I know when i've got enough room to suddenly break. Gotta say though, damn I love putting my foot down to quickly reach the road speed limit then easing off. |

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! That's awesome dude! I gotta say though... Pilot's Licence, it sounds like a good idea, jus' sayin'! I really should learn to drive a car at some point in my life, but for now, my Motorbike (Bandit 600cc) pretty much sits in the garage barely used while I walk everywhere. Kinda good for health and stuff, but damn do I miss twisting that throttle and feeling all the force on my neck. Hmm, mayhap I should bring it out and go for a little ride at some point. Sorry, sidetracked. Awesome to hear, bud. Hope you have a good few years of fun on the road ahead of you! |

Well i just love driving. Even though it might make me sound strange, it truly is like the best looking driving game ever, with incredible physics. Basically, my love for driving is just the drive itself, and it's helped by the fact that I adore car games (to overly simply them) Also, to celebrate, i'm whacking these boys on my car on Wednesday even better, I found an image of them on a car that is the same model as mine ![]() my car, for comparison ![]() Real excited for my new rims and tyres. Rims are EVERYTHING!!!! Oh, the ones i'm getting are gun metal grey......*faints* |

Given the only driving games I can enjoy are the likes of Burnout, Blur and Mario Kart, it's probably best I do not superimpose my game preferences onto real life... And let's not even bring Road Rash into this... XD |

Fantastic news. Now that I've gotten a job I should be able to get a permit and practice driving again so I can get a license and (probably) a piece of crap car. Only thing is, I have terrible night vision. I can hardly see in the night, even with street lights. I gotta be careful not to drive on busy roads or freeways if I can help it. |

Congrats! I got my license a bit later than most here, and thing is, I'm still not completely comfy driving. My night and peripherial vision are good, but my depth perception sucks and distance vision is quickly going. I am definitely uncomfortable in heavy traffic, and during my trips to another state some weekends, I always drive very late at night to avoid Atlanta traffic (no way to avoid that city without going WAY out of the way). For work, I just take the transit buses. Saves someone else a parking spot, I figure. |

You got a job, man? Spill the details, and conglaturations to you.
Oh hugely. Driving was fine before, but driving to work meant Bec had to get up at 0530 with me, come to work, drive the car home, then drive it back in the afternoon so I can drive it again. Now when she's not working, I drive myself and everybody's happy. Even little things like getting a quick service on my car, won't end up with me illegally driving it home on my own (for convenience) even though it was only less than 5 minutes away.
I'll be careful. As I said I drive aggressively, but safely at all times.
How old were you? I mean, I got my L's (aussie learner license) when I was 16, but had no money and noone to teach me so they were pretty much wasted. 1 year later they expired, and I didn't have them (or drive a single bit) until August of last year, at a ripe age of 33. Sometimes I feel that it sucks that I never drove young, but I attribute my success to my age, because I don't have friends that i'm trying to impress and solely drive for me. |

I got a job, just yesterday in fact, as an intern learning more about programming. I'll be doing menial work for a company called Loopfuse for 3 months and afterward they will probably help me get placement elsewhere if I don't stay there depending on what is needed after the 3 months is over. I got it through a friend in my mom's church who wanted to help me out, he's gotten quite a few people into the programming field in the church apparently and I'm just one more. One of the other people he's helped get into it makes a lot of money. |

Whomever was given the design contracts to Atlanta's road system should be beaten daily. They must have given their kids come LSD, the map and pen. One-ways running into one-one ways. Roads ending for no apparent reason. I refuse to ever go back to the ATL...and for the sole reason being their road/highway design. Grrrrrr... |

That's awesome, man. Really happy for you. Soon you'll be raking it in, and have some gold digger hot thing hanging off you because you earn lots of money and you'll say to astute "what's that about women only wanting triangle shaped men" It'll be worth it just for that moment. Trust me. |

I remember when my ex cheated on me, then again, then I met Bec online.......then I broke it off with the ex because it was too much of a soul drain, got with Bec the next day and the ex visits me to brag that she found a new guy. Earned more than me, was thinner than me and had an awesome car. i didn't care. 3 days later she emails me to tell me that she and the new beau, got arrested for driving in a stolen car, and I quickly replied with a giant smiley face. Good day that was. |

20 I think, but even then I didn't really drive hardly at all for a long time. I saw an article not too long back that cheered me up a bit-- said that the 18-34 generation was far less enthusiastic about driving, and many avoided it when they could. That is me! It is good to have your freedom, but I always think of all the things that can go wrong. Every year here it seems we lose a few students to car crashes. ![]() And AMEN on Atlanta!! I mean, WTF is up with that city? My mom went to college up in Macon and she said even back then, Atlanta was a mess and always under construction somewhere. |

That was me, too. Got my L's at 16, but they expired and I didn't do any driving. When i'm almost 34, Bec gets word that her mum is willing to give me her "other" car, and asks if i think I could get my license.......I mill it over and think "this could do so much for me" After much procrastination, i go for L's again, fearing failure in the test.....I get them first shot. We then pickup my new car, and I take my first baby steps, but suddenly after 3 or 4 days of just going up and down my street, I drive Bec and I to the gym, and back, and every trip after that.... it just feels like my time is now. That day, you will most definitely relish. And deservedly so when I think of some of the stuff he's said to you, hell even the shit he started about you when you weren't even posting there. and yep. I love that story, too. Speaking of good stories, my bro and his lady had their kid 2 days ago, it's born just over 8 weeks premature, because the mum has a negative blood type that builds up antibodies and attacks the foetus. It wasn't quite so much an issue with her first 2. He's doing well now, though, after a full blood transfusion, and currently living in a humidity crib |

I visited their site ages ago, and saw the same attitudes all over again. I was really shocked when Astute asked me to sign up, stating that Hollywood requested it.......since he ya know......banned me. |

He even asked me to sign up..."it's just I wouldn't be able to mention bronies, MLP, etc. Same as he can't mention aesthetics and bb.com." His words almost exactly. Trade for trade but I don't believe anyone should have to stop talking about what they like. I don't believe he should have to stop talking about aesthetics either. It's the attitude towards what one likes or doesn't like that is the issue on the site, not the content. I have FGM so I have no need of it. I like the people here more.

He still mentions 'mirin' 'bb.com' and 'aesthetics' on that site, so I don't see how it's fair to make that claim of not saying it. I mean, who doesn't love hearing "Res, mate, we want you to come back..........as someone else. someone not you. Can you do that for us, Res?" Anyways, bed time. Night all |
