The most signals?

And to get it to work, I can voice my concerns about having already been sold a faulty, used product. (which is true), and that i'm concerned that it has happened again.

Worst case scenario, no exchange. Best case, new phone. Either way is fine, really.

And no, i haven't made a purchases topic. Though to be fair I don't think that was my idea. I'll make one now, though.

Okie, finally have a proper response on the phone after the clerk really, really pissed me off the other day.

Now I know i'm scum and it's my fault and i'm trying to get something for nothing, but the point was that he considered it "impact damage", which is correct, but he also said that had I bought my TV from them, I would've been Shit Outta Luck.

For your reference, when my TV was unboxed, sat on the TV unit and had the plastic peeled off, both sides were heavily damaged (obvious impact), and you could even see through a crack and touch the LCD panel. Something I most certainlly didn't do, and Bec can vouch for that.

Anywho, the resolve was:

$560 dollars to repair the phone (phone was 899).
They then talked Samsung down to 280 (the price of the front panel... i checked)
Then they offered to pay half the cost.

So my phone will be repaired for less than a quarter of the cost, and we're happy days.

I'm happy with that result.

Long Live the New Flesh!
How is the computer coming along?

<quote>Cap, that's some serious RAM you got going there.</quote>

Yeah it's a pretty nice setup. From 2010... but it's a 3.2ghz quad core, 16gb ram, 160Gb SSD boot drive, 4tb RAID0 array. That SSD back in 2010 was pretty pricey.

Got Ubuntu and Windows 7, dual booting nicely. Still can't get windows XP on there, which sucks, but i'll deal with it.

I was annoyed that I didn't get a chance to back up windows 7 (ie registry settings for all my games), but somehow, unlike the very first time I reinstalled windows 7......all the shit still works perfectly.

well i'm only focused on the DD games I bought and any with online activation: Sins of Solar Empire, Runaway trilogy, Space Shuttle Mission Simulator 2007, Maximus Arcade, My Steam games......things like that still load as they did before.

The real benefit is as it's a new install, all my codecs are working beautifully rather than being screwed by codec packs. My copy of Starship Troopers, had no FMV at all (part of the charm), because of a codec pack screw up. After many more were installed and removed to try and fix it, I finally got it back but all video was upside down. Better than nothing. Now it's all sweet and working like a charm.

Ubuntu is a fresh install rather than the upgrade that i was running, so again, that was a bonus and the only things I needed were located in my 'scotty' folder, so it was a simple drag and drop from the old drive and then this installation contains all my goodies (namely documents, pics, emails)

So all in all, everything is running really sweetly
