I read about it in the newspaper during my break.... seems AWESOME! Got a 4.5/5 in a review. I wanted to see G.I. Joe next week, but now I might either choose that, or The Goods. |

Saw it today. It was awesome Alot of action and great story. The CGI was also really good. I recommend it to anyone who likes the scifi genre 9/10 Edit: Forgot to add. Theres a lot of FACE! Edited by Badour, Aug 14 2009, 08:01 PM.

i was really skeptical too. I expected a summer blockbuster action packed with a shit story line. But as it turns out there isn't a ton of action (so don't go in expecting it) but there is a great story line with parallels to real world reactions to illegal immigrants or illegal "aliens" set in South Africa...an area with apartheid issues as well as issues with illegal immigrants taking up a lot of local resources. Although there are some really cool action sequences do not mistake this movie for an action packed blockbuster. It's more of a social commentary on how people tend to view outsiders while not understanding their plight...at least not until they themselves truly understand how it feels to be "on the other side". I thought it was great...and even my wife enjoyed it and she HATES sci-fi. But Badour is right...there are many moments when the term "FACE!!!!" is applicable. lol Edited by xGuN SliNger 77, Aug 17 2009, 10:15 AM.

Never mind... I saw it and I liked it. I thought the story was pretty good and it felt like a real documentary. My only complaint was I hated the main character.... How many times did he say "fuck" or any variation of it? I lol'd a few times because it was so repetitive.... Spoiler: click to toggle

that was a dutch/south african accent. the dutch colonized parts of south africa a while back. They have a pretty distinct accent. |

i saw it at the drive - in at the Wisconsin Dells, it was pretty good. Good story, some good action too. 9/10 I saw G.I. Joe too (not there, but with cap). My dad said it didnt follow storyline, and I rememberd some stuff and thought that it didnt match up well with the actuall story. it was kinda cheezy and the action wasnt all that great 6/10 |
