My atari wasn't in the case anymore, I just kept it pretty much sitting there as a circuit board with a place to plug carts into. My NES would take some work to get it to read games. I'd have to push it to the left a little for the game to get read. my SNES, Genesis, and N64 had similiar cart problems where I'd have to pop them in and out a couple times. But all still work.
