Hey Cap, I just got back to my apartment after being at home for a few days. I load up my laptop and I get a DNS error on pretty much any website that I try to load.... Any ideas as to how I can fix it? |

I love this Opendns.com thing. You can set it up either in your PC or if you're using a router, then set it up in your router. It's really easy to do. |

really? ok, it's really easy. If your'e using a router, then go into your router's settings and find the place where it lets you specify the DNS.. In my router it's in the Basic setup area. Put in these: Primary 208.67.222.222 Secondary 208.67.220.220 If you're ok after that, you can then go to opendns.com and make an account, and it lets you change settings. |

Rebooting your entire network should help too, or you could try simply clearing your computer's DNS cache. You may want to do that anyways. Start>>Run>>cmd in the MSDOS screen, type ipconfig/flushdns and hit enter. |

you tried the ipconfig/flushdns? actually you don't even neeed to make an account at Opendns. You just put those numbers in your primary and secondary DNS. |

I dunno. Different IP address, the DNS trying to resolve what's in your computer's cache from when you were on a different IP address with a Different DNS may have been screwing it up. What fixed it? Did it fix itself or was it something you did? |

sweet. Well you may want to check out opendns.com and make an account there anyways. that way you can do some other neat things, like block sites and stuff like that. |
