Hmmm... I was wondering if you know any upconverting players? I usually play AVI files at 480p since they are DVD rips. I wonder if you know of a player that upconverts the video while you play to 720p or even 1080p.

I don't know, but the old xbox works great as a media player when you put XBMC on it... Not sure if it upscales avi fiels, but DVDs are unscaled up to 1080i over component.

On my PC. Like playing on Windows Media Player or some other player. I watch videos in fulls screen but it's fuzzy. Upscaling won't make it true HD but it will atleast clean it up.

I like VLC, don't know about upscaling but it plays just about every video file type with no additional codex to download, and it runs great on Linux or Windows.

It starts up much faster than Media Player on my old PC.

Yea, I use VLC for odd file types. I use WMP player because of the Audio Plug-ins.
