Storage Room

The wooden board floors creaked harshly as Ken Goddard ran half panicked into the storage room. He had spotted this place some time ago, and knew it was vacant, though the smell of rotten fish remained in the area despite not being used in so long.
He collapsed to the floor after putting Ibara down, panting heavily. He had ran quite a distance to escape the corruption, though, normally he would have been able to run such a distance without much trouble.

It was the result of coming into close contact with the corruption. It had only went up to his feet earlier, but even that was enough to weaken him.
Looking at his right wrist, the command seal was clearly faded by now. Caster had died quickly, and Ken realized he was lucky to have gotten away. Or, more likely, Alina knew he could not do anything without a servant.

"Hah, dammnit." He cursed under his breath as he slumped. He disliked being outsmarted or beaten. The Vessel knew Ken's goal would have been to destroy the Grail, and without a servant it would be next to impossible.
So what were his other options? To kill Alina, or to allow the existence of whatever entity the Grail is summoning. He had never intended to allow its existence. It was evil. But he never intended to kill Alina, either.

Cunning bastard
. The corruption that had taken over Alina's mind already knew Ken would help it in a situation like this. Even if there was only a small chance Alina would make it out alive, he would take those chances. Even if it meant allowing the birth of the entity inside the Grail.
He still had one small trump card. The homunculus that remained behind could use the transmutation that Caster was capable of, and the reinforcement was especially useful to him. Still, even with that, he could only beat a servant if they underestimated him and did not use a noble phantasm... Destroying the grail was still completely out of the question.

The best case scenario now was to make a pact with another servant, or to side with another Master who did not care about the Vessel's rampage. Both unlikely. If neither were possible, he would simply have to help the corruption. The thought of allowing the birth of that creature sickened him, but if it were necessary, he would not hesitate.

As the morning sun rose, Rider finally made a move, after waiting silently all night. The king had followed Ken Goddard's retreat, having a muse that Alina Goddard's corrupted would attempt to kill any servant in her sight, even her own. He had no real evidence to support that theory, but having witnessed what the Vessel was capable of, he did not wish to test it.

Walking up to the storage room door, he stopped for a moment as he heard shuffling inside. It was most likely Ken thinking the king was here on an assassination mission for Alina; however, he had no such orders. He opened the door, letting the morning sunlight fill the room, and he was surprised to see Ken not as he had imagined. He stood in the middle of the room, as normal, with no trace of fear.

"I assume you're here by your own accord, Rider." Ken said first, making it sound more like a fact than a question.

Rider despised the man's arrogance as usual, but he was correct.
"True, but you are very replaceable. I came to you out of convenience, not of necessity."

Ken smirked. He had intended to summon this servant before Alina took the catalyst, and he had accurately predicted Rider's personality. He was both as ruthless and as merciful as he had thought.
"Understood, Rider. But to the point, I assume you're interested in what I am, which is why you are here. Tell me what you have in mind."

"I do not have a plan as of yet, but the only way I will be able to free Alina without being killed is by having my contract with her broken. You would be my Master of choice, since neither of us wish to kill her." Rider was good at separating truth from fiction; and it was clear to him that as despicable as Ken was, he was not a man to kill his sister.

Ken nodded, pleased at the current opportunity. Sure, he would have to stay alive throughout the rest of the war, but with this he was ensured he could save Alina so long as he could make it to the end.
"Making her use her command spells will be simple..." Ken began with a sly smile, "Endanger the lives of innocent people while she is sane. She will certainly force you to stop with a command spell. The only problem you should have is not breaking your contract too soon, and avoiding the Vessel when she is out hunting servants."
