The soldiers march to the edge of the countryside, breaking into a hostile formation. The run through the fields, until they reach a mountain path. They walk up, one by one. As the air envelops the mountain, the lower ranked enlisted begin to complain. They had never done mountain travels, mainly sea assaults. Several soldiers, and some NCOs slipped and fell, but Johnathan kept his footing, despite the heavy equipment he carried with him. A specialist speaks up. " Lieutenant Colonel. How much longer must we travel, our soldiers are getting weary. " Johnathan responds while walking. " Calm yourself, Specialist. We- Speak of the devil. " The come to a clearing, with a shack in the middle. " Set up a base camp! Specialist Husigaru! Set up a medical tent! Nor, , tul, your in charge of the perimeter defenses. " He grunts as he enters the tent. " The shack is my quarters, no one enter it without permission. " The soldiers begin to set up a makeshift garrison. |

Hours later, a reasonably sized garrison is built, with makeshift guard towers, and small trenches. Soldiers are casually walking around, a radioman speaks into the general radio. " Admiral. Can you spare two pieces of artillery? " Grumbles are heard. " Soldier, where is the lieutenant colonel!? " The soldier flinches over the admiral yelling. He leaps up from his position in the trenches and runs over to Johnathan's ''office''. " S-Sir? The admiral wishes to speak with you... " Johnathan stands up, gripping the radio phone. " Lieutenant Colonel Boyd, what is it, admiral? " He waits a minute, before the heavy japanese accent speaks again. " Lieutenant Colonel. This -Ignorant- Private radioed in for artillery. Is there a reason for this? " Johnathan sighs. He mumbles something under his breath. " My apologies. I believe he misheard me. I was asking if you had artillery available. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. " The admiral sighs heavily, the audible sigh going through to the other end as static. " We are still repairing them, We will radio in to this private once they are ready. " Johnathan sighs as the admiral cuts the connection. He thrusts the receiver to the private. " Report to me once the artillery is ready to go. " The private nods, saluting him. Johnathan sets his hand down, before turning back to the desk. The private runs out. The clearing is quiet, except for the minute chatters and moving of heavy ammo. The same shadowish figures appear, charging to the base. The soldiers on the guard towers begin to open fire. " Those fiendish things again! " Johnathan grunts, heaving up his TAVOR-32. He runs outside, getting in position. He lies his gun on a sandbag wall, firing in quick, 5 shot bursts at the shadows. The specialized weapon rips through the shadows, killing them in five bullets. The shadows continue to burst forward. The first guard tower is demolished, and the soldiers retreating. The sandbag walls and the forward trenches hold with the HMG fire. Johnathan grunts as he sets up on the sandbag. He slides a fresh magazine in the back, continuing to fire. Why is Alexio attacking me? Does he have nothing better to d- Wait... He could be training my troops to combat the forces we will face... Of course, that yakuza story is just a coverup... The shadows stop coming, three soldiers are nowhere to be found, two bled out. Johnathan sighs as captain yaguchi shouts orders to them. Edited by ZERG MASTER, 02/10/2010 - 07:52 pm.
