The Faraway Rulebook Plagiarism is not permitted on this forum. If any posts are discovered as plagiarism, those posts will be removed and the member who posted them will receive a temporary ban. If they are caught plagiarizing a second time, they will receive a permanent ban. This site is a site for text-based roleplaying. Writing and intellectual property are important here. Do not plagiarize. Credit is an easy way to avoid plagiarizing. If a member wishes to use the work of another writer in their own, credit the writer with their name and with a source. This should be added as a footnote within the post that used the work. Images must be credited whenever they are used. Credit may be excluded only if the author and source are unknown, in which case it should be noted that this is the reason credit has been excluded. Staff have limitations on this site. All warnings must be because of a broken rule, and the rule must be cited directly to the member warned. All bans must be because of three unheeded warnings, and the warnings must be properly documented to be used as part of a ban. The staff who warns or bans a member must submit a public statement of why they took action. There are certain rules to which the only response is a permanent ban, and they will be labeled clearly as such. Courtesy is expected from all members and staff. Do not insult, degrade, or antagonize members of this site. If a statement directed towards a member is determined by that member to be an insult, a degradation, or antagonistic the member who made that statement may only avoid a warning by apologizing and having that apology accepted. Please note that the staff will not take action against a member if their intentions were clearly not discourteous, but an apology will still be required. To power-play is to use or abuse a character not belonging to oneself without permission from the owner of the character. It is not permitted. To meta-game is to use or abuse information known outside the game as a driving force for a character inside the game. It is not permitted. To god-mod is to portray a character as having limitless or unstoppable power. It is not permitted. Characters must be approved by the staff before being used in the roleplay. Once approved by the staff, a character may only be used by the member who wrote and submitted the character. Changes to the character after approval must be clearly noted. Characters from the television shows and movies may not be used by members. Possessions must be approved by the staff before being used in the roleplay. Possessions may be stolen, broken, or destroyed by other members if it is done fairly and realistically. Ships may not be owned by humans or Jaffa without extraneous in-game circumstances. Stargates may only be used in ways that have been portrayed as possible in StarGate SG1, StarGate Atlantis, or any of the StarGate movies. Destruction of a stargate must be approved by at least two members of the staff. Use of the stargate as an explosive device must be approved by the entire staff.
