If you've ever played Fallout then you should be familiar with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. setup used in the game. While it won't affect the way you RP on the site, it does prove useful as a quick physical/mental summary for your character. This setup should also be useful in player vs player fights as a quick comparison between the two (or more) characters without having to root through the whole application for info.

For those unfamiliar with the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system, here's a quick run down. First off, there are 7 attributes which apply to your character. These attributes are Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. Out of these 7 attributes, you can divide 40 points among them. Each attribute must have a minimum of 1 point and the maximum for any attribute is 10 points. The more points an attribute has, the greater the effectiveness the character is with that attribute.

Here's how the system works.

Strength: This covers physical actions such as heavy lifting, fighting and overall good health.

Perception: This covers your character's ability to notice the small things that can prove to be important, like hearing a super mutant step on a twig or being able to see a lit cigarette almost a mile away.

Endurance: This covers not just physical endurance but mental too. This can be useful for resisting interrogations, shrugging off gunshot wounds and even being able to stay calm in high stress situations.

Charisma: This covers a character's effectiveness with talking. This can be used to persuade people into a con or even leading a small town through a crisis.

Intelligence: This covers a character's effectiveness with science, strategy and overall logic .

Agility: This covers physical traits such as running speed, hand-eye-coordination and flexibility.

Luck: This covers random events that can have a direct effect on the character such as finding large sums of money or safely walking through a minefield while blindfolded.
