A bloody flower festival. It wasn't as though Leonidas wasn't aware that spring was on the horizon, but why would one want to hold a celebration in Acacia of all places: one of the northernmost cities in the country, close to the Boscan border where there was a war of all things going on, and under the influence of a dark guild? Granted, the last one might not have been completely public knowledge, but still the princess that had organized the entire ordeal, or at least as a front face to it, certainly did. Hell, it probably wouldn't have surprised him if Grimoire Heart had supported the movement. He supposed it was a way to improve their image, but it wasn't like members simply went around killing others for little reason. Alright, that wasn't true, but in the end it all boiled down to where the power lay.

Petals were scattered across the double-tiered walkways, blown off the stems that carried them by a gentle wind. In front of nearly every one of Acacia's jewelry stores was a vendor, packed to the brim with selectively bred varieties of flowers, from the namesake of the city to daffodils to roses. Of course he knew their names, how couldn't he have? Eris loved the things; that was probably why he was so bitter about the entire situation. It would probably be best of him to check in with the guild as quickly as possible and then just get away from the area, but then again Leonidas knew the festival was also occuring in other parts of Fiore. At least Acacia's semi-militarization made it feel more grounded in reality, although had he not known who employed a large portion of the guards he would have been more on edge.

He wore a dark green dress shirt paired with a black tie, uncharacteristically caring about his appearance, to a degree, for once. It had nothing to do with breaking tradition or some sort of fashion, simply a way of looking presentable for one of the times Leonidas did visit Grimoire Heart's halls. He held little to no attachments to the organization aside from using its large reach to his own advantage, and they certainly did not care about him, but the blonde at least feigned loyalty. It only made his anonymity more present. So, he walked down the street strewn in bright colors, hands in his pockets and yet sword at his side, knowing all too well the weight that was carried with it.

Wave knew that the spring season was closing in, not just because of the blooming flowers or the budding trees. It was the blasted flower festival that was being celebrated all through out the kingdom of Fiore. Wave didn't mind the festival or the season itself, but it was those damn lily's that annoyed him. The harmless flowers only served as a reminder of his sister who had with in a blink of an eye turned her back on him during a crucial time. He had wondered around Fiore for years and every spring when the festival started, He would be reminded of that dreadful night. These flowers, these damn lily's always haunted him.

As he strolled through the floral scented town, he shot piercing glares at all the floral decorations that littered the streets. The street lights having strands of multiple flowers from all over Fiore spiral upward around them. I feel bad for the people who have to clean up this mess. Must suck pushing daisies for a living. Wave thought to himself as he continued to stroll through the streets. He continued to stay aware of his surroundings, through out all his travels he had never once made a visit to Acacia. Taking notes of all the flower stands full of various flowers, townsfolk still decorating for the nation wide event. He noted that most of the people buying flowers happened to be men, buying bouquets of roses and carnations. Children played through out the streets, scooping up some scattered petals and throwing the heap at their friends.

Wave stood still as the kids ran around him, a little girl with hands filled with multiple colored petals heaved them toward her friend. Her friend a blonde haired little boy quickly spun around Wave, causing the girls aim to go askew. The pile of different scented petals blasted right into Wave's face. Standing there with an ice cold look on his face. He swatted the remains out of his spiky white hair. Now standing still with bits of pinks, yellows and blues stuck in the creases of his jet black armor. "I..I'm sorry mister, I didn't mean to."The little girl whimpered. He looked at her and quickly he formed a smile across his face.

"It's ok kid, It's a great time for fun like this." he said in a kind hearten tone of voice while flashing his friendly smile. He reached down and patted the young brunette on the head. She smiled and moved her hand to her left ear where she had a lily holding her hair back. She smiled back and handed Wave the flower before running off. "Have a good day mister." she shouted as she ran away yelling at her friend. Wave looked down at the lily the little girl had given him. The more he stared at it the more his anger began to build back up. While twirling the flower between his fingers, he froze it and threw it to the ground shattering it to pieces.

I still hate those damn flowers. he thought to himself as he continued down the street.

"Hey, why aren't you off playing with the little kids?"

Leonidas ignored the teenagers that had called him out and continuing walking. Maybe they would get the picture that he wasn't interested in playing some sort of game or entertaining them by lashing out. Most likely not, though, as they were probably just trying to fill their time on a break of some sort harassing others. On second thought, perhaps it would be a better idea just to get in and out of Acacia, if this was what all the citizens were like. People could jest be so aggravating, especially when they stepped into others' boundaries without reason.

"Hey, kid! Answer us!" the taller of the two boys yelled. Great, they were following him. Didn't they have anything else to do?

"No," he answered flatly, again pressing onward. Looking ahead, it seemed as though the festival merged in a central area just up ahead, and it was on the way to his destination. Just lovely. The blonde supposed he could take the long away around and avoid the cheerful gathering in its entirety, but what was the point in putting in all the more work? None, Leonidas concluded. A few flowers wouldn't kill him, after all. As a matter of fact, a cherry blossom located in near the center of the various activities spread throughout was rather elegant, in his opinion. A sakura tree, out of all things. Oh well, in the end he couldn't deny... that.

No, no, that subject wasn't something he wanted to ruminate upon at the moment. Alas, the schoolboys distracted his train of thought. "You got a problem?" the other asked with a pitiful attempt at menace. At least they were useful for something, but Leonidas couldn't have them tailing him all day.

"Yes, and it may or may not involve you two blithering idiots. Go pick a fight with someone else, please and thank you," he responded, well aware that his words would have just the opposite effect. That was fine with him, so long as the security guard nearby realized who had initiated the disturbance. The troublemakers didn't even retort, lashing out at him in a sloppy kick and punch combo. For the former he simply dodged, but the latter he caught the momentum of the boy's downward aimed arm, using it tug him further along his predicted path, promptly tripping him with his foot as the boy stumbled. Before he fell, however, Leonidas swung his fist at his face, if not knocking him out at least leaving him disoriented. The other charged, not even thinking about the fate of his companion, with another untactical attempt at the blonde's shoulder. It glanced him, but at the same time he uppercutted the boy in the jaw before delivering a roundhouse kick to his back. Stepping backward, the troublemaker also fell to the ground. Clearly, neither of them picked fights often. "Apologies for the commotion," Leonidas called out to the guard nearby.

"No worries. They've been harassing people all day," the woman answered, unphased as if this was an everyday occurrence. For her, it probably was. "I was worried that they were involved in a local gang centered just outside the city, but it doesn't seem like it." He nodded before walking away, leaving the law enforcement to deal with the disruption. Surprise, surprise, for once they were on his side.

Continuing his stroll through the streets of Acacia. Wave tried to shake the betrayal of his sister out of his mind, but to no avail. Looking onward further up the street, he noticed two teenage boys as they were picking on a short blonde boy in a dark green dress shirt. He watched as the shorter one just ignored them and walked away. He took a step toward them thinking of intervening, when his stomach began to rumble and growl. He looked down holding his stomach. I hear you buddy he thought to himself as he rubbed his stomach.

He looked up and across the way was a produce stand filled with a various assortment of fruits and vegetables. The stand had some people who were shopping. He casually walked over and eyed the fruit. Wave noticed that the basket labeled apples was dangerously low, one apple remained after an elderly woman damn near emptied the whole basket. He could feel as if he was being watched, looking over to his right was an older man who was missing most of his what could be described as an ashy grey color hair. The two locked eyes in an intense stare down.

While looking out of his peripherals he quickly reached out and grabbed the apple, without making a sound. Wave pulled the apple to his mouth only to have the man snatch it out mid-way out of Waves hands. He quickly slammed down the jewels he owed and ran away shouting "Ha-Ha F**K you" Wave began to grow frustrated at the turn of events and began cussing under his breath. "Son of a..." He was interrupted by the stand vendor as they began to laugh at the whole situation. "What's so funny?"Wave asked in with a serious tone and a glare that could kill."He still has it. Old man Tsukasa. No one's been able to take the last of anything away from him. The Vendor stated as they reached under the table and pulled up a brown sack full of fresh apples, pouring them into the rightly labeled basket. "No one said that was the last apple either, which made it even better to watch." Chuckling a loud while throwing the brown sack into an empty wooden crate.

Waves face began to change from his pissed off look to a more cheerful one as he smiled and shook his head. He grabbed an apple from the bin and placed the jewels on the table. "Thank you for the food,
and sorry about the ruckus."
He apologized as he took a bite out of the delicious green apple. "Haha It's perfectly fine, no need to stress over it. But hold on one moment." The vendor said as he turned around and started rummaging through another crate. Pulling out an acacia flower and handing it to him. "As a special celebration, I'd like you to have one of Acacia's famous flower. It's a symbol of renewal, fortitude and pureness. Every year when the sunsets people travel out to the graveyard and place these flowers on their loved ones headstone." He said in a most sincere tone.

Wave took the flower and placed it inside a small pouch on the outside of his hip. "Sure I guess I can visit out there and pay my respects to those who have fallen." He stated as he flashed a half-assed smile and walked off. "Have a good day sir!" he shouted as he waved at the white haired mage. Wave acknowledging the man threw his hand up in the air and waved it slightly.

How much time had that wasted, a few minutes? He rubbed his eyes, aware of their drooping status. There was little he could do about his lack of sleep, however, beyond attempting to counter it with caffeine. He laughed to himself at the notion for a moment, not like that would really help, after all. Another day, that was all. Not like anything would change, but he had no choice but to believe the lies he fed himself.

It seemed like he wasn't the only one causing a disturbance of the peace, as across the street an old man had seemingly stolen some food from a vendor, although he dropped jewels off after, quite odd. The security officer was off handcuffing the teenagers Leonidas had previously neutralized, and as they came about he offered a smile that feigned innocence and a wave. Not that it mattered that they were being taken away, they'd likely get a slap on the wrist, maybe a small fine or some other minor infraction, and be on their way. A slap on the wrist, he hadn't gotten that for doing literally nothing. Existing was a crime, he guessed. The thought left a terrible taste in his mouth, even as the two boys faintly echoed the insults he had heard his entire life. Time to move on, then, past this small square and out of Acacia, once he did what he had came to the city for.

Another pause, ensued by the nearby vendor's words, not spoken toward Leonidas but still he heard them. It was not the integrity of the sentence itself but the content held within that reminded him of something, in all the chaos of the recent year or so. He cursed in an almost growling tone, stopping for a moment to scrawl the word kakumahemir on his hand in pen before turning to the man's stand just as his most recent customer was leaving. "Do you have any more acacias?" Leonidas asked in a genuine tone.

The vendor nodded. "Certainly, but why ask me instead of all the people only selling them?" he asked.

"You live here, don't you?" the blonde asked, waiting for him to nod in response before continuing. "I'm curious about why the acacia is revered here."

The man paused in his sorting of various produce, thinking about the question. "I suppose it's in part to honor the High King Arlan Fiore. Other than that, I'd put most of it on simple tradition, and of course it is the namesake of our city. Would you like one?" he asked. Leonidas nodded, putting down a single coin even as the vendor protested, a smile on his face. He picked up the yellow flowers from the counter, twirling it between his fingers a few times before putting it to his nose for a moment. It smelled pretty good, actually, but the plant was more of a reminder than anything, just like the letters now written on his palm.

While the blonde was twirling the flower between his finger. A shady looking character had been lingering around the nearest ally to the produce cart. He was shorter than Wave was he was around 5'5" with medium length brown hair falling just short of touching his shoulder blades. He had dirt crusted on his face and stains on his torn brown colored poncho, though at first glance one would think it was simply dyed brown however that was not the case for this man. His stench could be smelled a few feet away from him.

He eyed Leonidas watching carefully as to where he pulled his coin from. He moved a small knife between his finger tips as if he had done this numerous times before. The man staid calm as he began to form a plan of action out in his head. He leaned up against the wall obscuring Leo or the vendor to see him. He focused his attention to the guards who were finishing up handcuffing the teenagers who just tried to fight someone but failed. The man just shook his head as these were teens that always knew where to find this dirt covered peasant, who was known for selling Boscan cigars "dirt" cheap just so he had money to get his next drink. Damn kids, whatever they're not mine. But at least they made me a good distraction. he thought to himself while scooting closer to the exit of the alley way.

He quickly ran out and toward Leo with his short handled shank in between his fingers of his right hand. His eyes were focused on Leo's black wallet, that was located in his front pocket. While he ran up on Leo, the man's stench could be smelled as he was right up on Leo at this point. He tried to make it look as inconspicuous as he would try and bump into Leo and quickly cut his pocket to slide the wallet out.

Meanwhile....

Wave who was not to far from the produce stand was now standing at the railing of a bridge looking down into the square below, Watching as people were still decorating and kids ran around playing, and some of the younger kids were at paint stations set up on tables coloring eggs. Wave's anger seemed to almost disappear as he continued to watch on.

For all of Acacia's guards, they were really bad at preventing crime. Seriously, two teenagers picking on random civilians and now a pickpocket? Perhaps they simply didn't care about small, insignificant incidents. A shame, really, for no doubt their reaction to murder would be far different. Or maybe not, if the security officers were employed solely to protect the various jewelry and other expensive storefronts. He wasn't in the mood to try anything risky, though. There was absolutely no point beyond his annoyance.

That was quickly becoming a valid option, however. The man who stank, his clothes clearly coated in mud, had caught him off guard. No, it was more like Leonidas was already so sick of the city and all the trouble it was causing that he didn't bother stopping the man, after all it was just money, until he recalled that there was something important, his identification. The blonde caught a fistful of the man's shirt just as he darted away, darkness spreading to it even as he yanked away, straight toward the individual that had previously been near the produce stand.

Leonidas watched with satisfaction as the thief winced, before continuing to run across the street. Oh, what a fool he was. It was quite curious, seeing that his attire suggested that he hadn't had a home in quite some time. Nonetheless, the blonde pointed at the perpetrator and called him out, loudly yet with a calm air about himself, as if it didn't matter if the thief was caught or not. It would be easy for Leonidas to rush up and attack him, but that would only cause even further disruption. No, he'd trail the man until he reached a less public place, if someone else did not act beforehand.

That being said, he was still tempted by the reoccurring emotion that often showed up when he was about to make a less than desirable decision, the fluttering of unadulterated joy that sang as he he reached for his blade, just brushing up against its hilt. What would the world think, though? He couldn't afford another incident, not here, not now. And so the man sighed, relieving his itching fingers to fumble with themselves, back at his side, as he watched the scene play out.

A sudden shout coming from a blonde haired man, caused Wave to break his day dreaming daze as he turned to watch a mud covered peasant running in Wave's direction. Wave walked from the railing of the bridge and stopped directly in the vicinity of the man's get away path. His face forming a cold hard glare as the man got closer with each step.

"I would return that if I was you." Wave shouted toward the man. The homeless man quickly came to a halt caught between Leo and Wave, he quickly looked back at Leonidas and Wave trying to figure out which one of the two looked the less menacing. He stood completely still frozen in terror of what the possible consequences were, he ran. The man turned in a third option he came up with and ran as fast as he could. He darted down the street that led to the square that Wave had been looking at from the bridge.

As the man ran pushing and shoving his way through the crowd in the square, Wave ran back to the bridge and looked down onto festival. He was scanning through the crowd from overhead. Luckily a woman yelled as the homeless man pushed his way through the crowd. Wave spotted him and without thinking, he leaped over the railing. "Don't worry I'll catch him." he yelled toward Leonidas before doing a three-point landing in front of the thief.

Wave slowly stood up and looked at the man in the eyes. The man stopped once in his tracks again took two steps backwards away from Wave. "Now let's try this again. Hand over the wallet." He demanded with a serious tone of voice followed up with a terrifying piercing gaze. The man shook his head defiantly and slowly tried to back away.

Leonidas made eye contact with the white haired man that had called the thief out just after him, nodding in acknowledgement as the culprit ran, down an alley and toward a square partaking in spring festivities. That was that, then, it looked like he would be attending one of the odd celebrations. However, instead of running after the homeless man, he took his pace at a brisk walk, aware that the crowd would make anything faster difficult, if not downright impossible.

In his peripheries he kept the man that was seemingly willing to track down petty crimes without the bat of an eye, wondering, for certainly not the first time in his life, why people went out of their way to help others when no benefit was presented. Boredom, maybe, or a sense of duty? Not as though the thief was also murderer, but hey, the white haired man was helping, or at least appeared to be. Leonidas wasn't going to complain.

And so, as he jumped from above, causing the homeless man to edge backwards, unaware of his surroundings, Leonidas palmed the small knife in his pocket, the one the thief hadn't cut, into his left hand. Flicking the blade open, he held it in a traditional style, weaving through the crowd to get to the thief. As he continued to pedal in the reverse, Leonidas stepped behind him, jutting his hand out in front of the man's throat from behind. He held no grip on the thief, but no doubt were he to move in any direction he'd get a taste of metal and blood.

Smiling, the blonde took a step closer, speaking in a low but generally gentle tone, conflicting the words he used. "We meet again, eh? Next time, steal a man's wallet and his knife, unless of course you prefer to be slitted in the throat, and trust me it's quite an excruciating discomfort. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though, please give me my property back and you can be on your way." He could feel the man's nervousness, the way he swallowed as the blade edged his skin. Slowly, he nodded, producing the black leather and holding it out. Leonidas snatched the wallet, before pulling back his knife, returning it to its proper place. The thief then ran off, or tried to, through the crowd. The blonde didn't bother watching his departure, however, instead looking toward the white haired man that had managed to corner him.

Wave was a bit shocked that the blonde pulled out at knife and had it practically on his throat. He stood up from his three point landing and just watched as everything unfolded. He couldn't be mad at the blonde for his actions. Hell if it was Him, he probably would have went a bit overboard probably maiming the thief. Wave continued to watch on until the thief handed over Leo's wallet, and ran away. Wave just gave a slight chuckle, watching the man practically pissing on himself as he ran.

"Nicely done sir. I thought for a minute there you were going to actually cut him. I probably would have done so myself." Wave said as he leaned back a bit and threw his arms over his head, resting them on the back of his neck. "I'm glad we got your stuff back though. Oh I forgot my manors, my name is Wave Hagane. It's nice to meet you." He would say so in a friendly tone while correcting his posture and extending out a hand to meet Leo, he flashed a smile. Wave was pretty bad about introducing himself to others, but he was working on it. Hopefully Leo would become a new friend of his.
