The music blared in Erik's ears as he finished his shift. A plastic bag swung at his hip, containing top ramen and off brand Magic Dew. He was uninteresting. His outfit bland, a black hoodie, dark jeans, and white sneakers. His posture was unassuming, even the contents of his bag were boring. His plans for the night? All boring. Read the latest Sorcerer's Weekly, eat some dinner. Take a shower, maybe watch some TV and fall asleep on the couch. It was late, the streets were empty, and the air was quite cold. Erik marched forward, hands shoved into his pockets and the bag hung loosely from his wrists. His hood cast a shadow over his face, keeping him warm and concealed. His calm, slow breaths left his mouth to form clouds of thing white mist that curled into nothing as he made his way down the empty streets. His only light came from street lamps, the magical lacryma burning him a path around the block. His music kept him from thinking about what he had heard. Some knights had come in earlier, talking about the Ashur family and how they did some pretty fucked up shit. He'd accidentally made eye contact with one of them while eavesdropping, but it was probably nothing. The vibrations numbed his mind, the earth shattering bass and high energy beat pouring over as a quiet stale sound. Rap lyrics burned themselves into his ear drums, the feint sound of music could be heard by those around him. But he traveled by his lonesome, nothing but the moon and occasional alley cat to keep him company on his journey home. The walk wasn't too bad, fifteen minutes at smooth, cool, pace Erik moved at. His house was just around the corner, hopefully warm. He was usually struggling to make ends meet, and it wouldn't be the first time his heat lacryma had run out of juice. Those things were expensive so he usually had to skip a few meals before he could afford a new one. Whatever. It'd be better than the street. Edited by Potato, Dec 13 2017, 10:59 PM.

"Oi, are you even paying attention to me?" Kanna, mindlessly watching birds come to and fro the neatly manicured trees, sat slouched in an expensive chair made of tufted velvet and had her hand propped against her chin as she gazed out the elaborate floor-to-ceiling window. She paid the maiden no mind, not bothering to listen to tomorrow's schedule or what she had to report on the day's events, she was perfectly content with watching the setting sun disappear over the horizon. The colours were remarkable; the staining of the rays flooding her face and the drawing room's floor of delicate grays and swirls of eggshell - it was a peaceful place to be enveloped by the dusk's wonder and warmth, something she could never convey with words alone. The door abruptly opened but no words were exchanged while a letter was handed to Mary to which she began reading just as the person made their exit. Glancing over towards the maiden, the Ashur Heiress lulled her eyes with boredom. "You have my attention now, Mary." Biting down on her lip, the charge scanned over the memo one more time before choking down a lump of saliva then folded the letter back into its original form. "It's nothing I can't take care of, milady." "Very well," she replied, returning her line of sight back to the shaded garden. "There are rumors circulating and apparently, a boy named Erik overheard some things he shouldn't have. A group of Knights were speculating, assuming, what have you, but they have already been taken care of. It's the boy that poses a threat, however. I've been given his address and it seems he lives alone, doesn't appear to be involved with any people except low-ranking Knights that don't do much of anything. As I said, it's nothing I can't take care of." Piqued by morbid curiosity, Kanna turned back to Mary, "What does he know?" "It's not entirely certain but the assumption is of our experiments and their moral ambiguity." "Do accompany me instead, Mary." Kanna waited nearby for the boy to return home - watching his place of residence from a distance - and was dressed in a brilliant emerald tea-length dress with white knee-high stockings, matching emerald shoes, which was all covered by a hooded cloak of opulent silver. Her ivory hair draped over the sides as she patiently awaited the boy to arrive and Mary did the same from behind her, watching with sparkling crimson eyes from beneath a fringe of white hair hidden by a black cloak. |

The last time Leonidas had visited Magnolia, it had ended in a headache inducing disaster. Children, and their painfully effective way of involving all parties in an area with their problems and amusement, were generally nuances, and it didn't help his case that he appeared to be one. That was insignificant in the larger image for him, however, for a single hour of peace was nigh impossible, a night unbearable. Revisiting Tessera had done nothing but open up old wounds, and with the person his relationship to was only borderline positive to begin with. Worse, the words he had spoken, so plain and exposed to him, were branded into his memory, tearing apart any sense of sanity he had built without her. He was a fool, a complete and utter fool for even trying to retrace his steps. His fingers found their way through his hair before resting on his temples, elbows propped up on a worn out desk. Eyes wide open in the dark room, his breath came in snatches, struggling to keep his mind blank of the horrible, dreaded thoughts that plagued it. He needed sleep, and his bloodshot sight showed it, but every time he tried he would wake up either drenched in sweat, hyperventilating, or in a panicked frenzy. And Leonidas knew that just sitting in the small room he had rented would only worsen the mess. So, slowly he rose from the rickety chair, reaching over and grasping Calamitas with great hesitation, sliding it into its resting place at his side. He caught another hap-hazardous gulp of air and then silently opened the door into the inn's hallway, closing it behind him and walking through the exit of the building, into the dark streets of Magnolia. The fresh air helped, and the openness of the city even more so, but his steps were still wary as he stuck to the sidewalks, despite the fact that most of the stores, and subsequently people, had long since shut down for the evening. One never knew what lurked in a metropolis boasting a guild hall at such an hour, and it only took him a few moments to imagine and plan about a dozen different scenarios of mayhem. Leonidas ended up vaguely trailed a boy he had spotted, one wearing headphones and completely oblivious to the dangers that the darkness posed. The blonde's actions were for no reason whatsoever, simply trying to take his mind off of deeper thoughts, but the longer the teenager continued, the more he recognized the irrational anger welling up inside of him. It would be better, for all parties involved, for him to simply turn his back on the child, as his innocence tormented the blonde further. He noticed two figures cloaked in silver and black, however, lurking ahead. Curiously, as the boy turned and opened up a door to his assumed place of residence, the crimson eyed man approached the two individuals. As his gaze caught the visage of one, an unforgettable face, his eyes narrowed for a moment before his expression turned impassive. "Kanna," he spoke quietly in a voice that portrayed little to no emotion. "And who is the friend?" Of course, based on the other woman's attire she was most likely a servant or slave rather than an equal, but the white haired girl did not need to know that he recognized such. Who knew what her standing was on him in the first place, given their shaky first meeting. |

Damn Erik made some good ass playlists. He didn't show it externally, his face locked in it's usual dull and uninterested expression. But internally he was jamming, singing along in his head as the music from his Lpod blared into his ears. BACK SEAT BRING THE HEAT FUCK WITH IT~ Erik opened the door to his house, casually popping his headphones out of his hears and removing his hood, shutting the door behind him he entered his ground level apartment. It was small, and he lived under like three other people, but it was home. He set his keys down into the drawer and kicked off his shoes, flicking on the lights before removing his hoodie. He did a little stretch before plopping onto his couch, sprawled out he leaned back and stared up at the ceiling in silence. Nobody was home, or if they were they had long since gone to bed. Most likely however they were on vacation, sometimes they paid him to house sit but ever since they bought that familiar he wasn't needed. He sighed and lazily reached for the remote, clicking on the television he flipped through the channels. He was unsure as to what exactly he wanted to watch, but anything beat starring at the ceiling all night. He tapped his top ramen three times and opened it, the cup filling with hot water and stirring itself. He twisted the cap off his store brand Magic Dew and took a sip before lifting a fork full of salty noodles into his mouth. He ate his dinner in peace as he starred mindlessly at the screen, sipping his drink in between bites. Another boring night. |

Both ladies cautiously observed the approaching person, unknowing as well as uncaring of whom they were, what they were doing, or where they were heading, but as he came into closer view, Kanna realized just exactly who it was, or rather, what he was. Mary, being the overly zealous and extremely protective servant she was, stepped in between her Lady and the young man, just as he spoke her name with hardly any tone of respect. Not only did it trigger a slight sneer on her features, it also provoked her to withdraw a singular blade from her finger, keeping it concealed under the cloak for the time being but having it available if necessary. When he asked who she was, Mary spoke up rather crudely, "That's none of your concern, mister." Rolling her eyes, Kanna stepped out from behind Mary and absently stared at the one she knew as Leonidas, "Fret not, Mary, this is my demonic acquaintance. Is that not correct, my dear Leo?" A smirk spread across her pink-tinted lips as she waved a hand at him, introducing him to Mary, who was idly standing by with a bit of confusion apparent on her face. "Demonic, you say? As in, a demon? Or more towards, completely unhinged and a known murdering hobo? I demand context, milady. Being such a small fellow, doesn't seem too demonic to me..." Mary sputtered as she eyeballed him as if she were about to give him an examination of the unsavory sort. Kanna couldn't help herself but attempted to stifle the short giggle before returning to her more stoic presentation, keeping the laughter at bay for now, "My dear Leo is of the former, plagued with demonic vitae that tends to be quite satisfactory, if I do say so myself." Gawking at him with a stupid yet shocked expression on her face, Mary pointed with her bladed finger which was soon extinguished, reverting back to a normal finger, "This guy? This little boy is demonic? Oooh, we should invite him over for playtime, yes?" "Not now, Mary, we have more important queries to attend to this evening," Kanna replied in a more serious tone, one that was quite normal of her. "Fine, but another time then?" she giggled with a maddening voice, jumping back slightly to prod at Leonidas a bit before turning her attention to the small residence that they were to invade, "He's home now, we should be making our visit, milady." "Yes, until next time, Leo..." she remarked in quite a nonchalant manner unbefitting of a lady such as herself, but did so, all the same. |

His initial prediction had been correct, it seemed, for soon after Mary stepped in to defend Kanna she called her out. "So you do remember," Leonidas responded curiously before the maid interrupted, displaying her lack of discipline, or perhaps a more intimate relationship with her master. Of course, he caught onto Kanna's snide tone, and Mary's mocking of it, feigning the slightest air of agitation but nothing more. He did not care for needless quarrels with a murderous noble, the latter half he dismissed quicker than a knife could cut through butter. "I must say that I am flattered," he stated dryly. "And you do make quite a wonderful target." Of course, Mary continued to blither on, oblivious to the words he and Kanna were exchanging. The servant's childish behavior hinted toward sadism, something that apparently ran between the both of them, but it mattered not. Clearly, she possessed a magical aptitude, one that she had been willing to use, but he did not intend on picking a fight with either of them that night, for it would only result in some sort of painful law to sort through later on. The blonde, of course, had been tracking both their movements, and did not let Mary touch him, but watched with amusement at they exchanged a few more words and passed by. He offered Kanna no goodbye, but spoke low enough so that her maid would not hear. "I'd suggest you go about your ways quietly, unless you wish to disturb the neighbors of this fine establishment." He walked in the opposite direction, knowing exactly where they were headed. Why the boy he had tailed to his current location interested the two, the crimson eyed man did not know, but whatever the case it would be more interesting to investigate than lay in a bed whilst suffering from both claustrophobia and insomnia. Once he was in the shadows of the buildings, and unable to be seen by Kanna and Mary, he circled back around and examined the property from behind, peering through windows. The first level seemed vacant, and the second he could not see well enough into, but the small, dusted basement window had light flickering from it, and in the relative darkness he could make out a body type similar to the teenager's. Spotting a small nook concealed from the boy's view, Leonidas concentrated for a brief moment, engulfing himself in darkness and re-materializing within the basement. His breathing was near soundless, silently waited for the girls to make their approach. OOC

The last words uttered from Leonidas brought about a wicked smile from Kanna and in return, she waved, "Be sure to enjoy the entertainment." With that, both Kanna and Mary headed across the street and outside the residence's entrance, Mary dramatically removed her black cloak, revealing nothing but undergarments - precisely a pair of pink polka-dotted panties, a bright yellow bra, and a black bow tie from one of her uniforms. Oh, and a pair of white and black cuffs to complete her ensemble. Her figure was lean and muscular, hardly any fat was apparent except for a tiny belly, but it wasn't really something anyone would notice unless they were trying to find a flaw. From each of her sides, there were protruding spikes of metallic silver and her arms had temporarily transformed into enormous blades that were capable of cutting through stone. Kanna's expression was quite the sight to behold; slack-jawed and wide-eyed at the complete retardation Mary had decided to perform. "I was under the impression that you would be subtle, Mary." "Subtle is for suckers." "Mary!" "I hope this f$%&er is enjoying a bowl of cereal in his boxers when I whack his wiener off!" ... "Rephrase that, please." "I meant what I said, why? Something wrong with it? Did I do it wrong? EH?? DID I?" "Cast the spell so the neighbors are unaware." "What spell? Oh, Max's spell, yeah, I can't do anti-magic, that's not my shtick... ya know, I had every intention of ---" "Whacking his wiener, yes, I know; now, can we move on, Mary. Just cast the spell, now, please before I lose my patience." "Fine, but this would have been more fun ---" "The spell, Mary, NOW." Doing whatever it was that she had to do, Mary cast a spell that created a barrier between reality and an illusion that outsiders would see. Everything prior to what began to transpire would be unseen and unheard by the nearby neighbors or anything passing by, beginning with this post onwards for ten posts which would then dispell, revealing anything and everything from behind the illusion. Now, with the spell in place, Kanna gave a courteous short nod to grant permission to Mary who was beyond wild with her intentions of going stupid psychotic on the boy that knew too much. She quickly dashed forward and with her right arm, sliced through the doorway before bursting in while screaming the following: "PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND DON'T MAKE A MOTHER-F#$*ING MOVE, YOU PIECE OF S$^@! I'M HEAR TO DELIVER A CAN OF WHOOP A$$... AWWWWWWH YIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSS!" Kanna simply stood at the entrance with an unimpressed look on her features. Edited by kanna, Dec 14 2017, 05:11 AM.

Erik had just settled on the news channel, the headline something about two knights found dead outside Magnolia. He slurped his noodles loudly, watching the screen with the same bored look he always held. He lifted another fork full of sodium filled goodness towards his mouth, only to be interrupted by his door exploding. He looked over at the mostly naked sword women, blinking at her before slowly lifting his fork into his mouth and slurping up the noodles. He just stared at her blankly, as not quite sure how to react as the cold air flooded into his apartment. Man, that was gonna cost a weeks worth of pay. "Uh- do you want a jacket or something. It's kind of cold outside" His eyes wandered around her body, noting just how scarce her clothing was. He took a sip of his Mountain Dew and slipped into his red jacket, not wishing to feel the full force of the new draft that filled his apartment. He blinked at the half naked sword women and her friend who was standing in the doorway, setting his cup of noodles down he got up, unsure what to do. "I would offer you tea but.....I don't actually have any. I do have some hot water though" He managed, gesturing to the couch for them to sit. "Don't worry about the door I can fix it later" He shrugged, rubbing the back of his head as he stared at them blankly. Man this was such a drag. Edited by Potato, Dec 19 2017, 02:48 AM.

She was not wearing enough, and it was mildly disgusting. Sure, he didn't have much of a fashion sense to begin with, but why did Mary have next to no clothes on when it was the late fall, at night nonetheless? Leonidas could barely see her, but still last time he checked near nudity was highly frowned upon. At a beach, maybe not, but barging into someone's house? Young people seemed to get stranger with every generation, or at least in certain contexts. Really, what were the two doing in the boy's place of residence anyway? Based on the blades protruding from Mary he would have guessed seizure or torture of some sort, but her outfit was so bizarre that it seemed unreasonable. Perhaps it was meant to distract one from her malicious intent, but one look at her magic and anything humorous would be washed from the minds of most. It didn't seem to be the case with the teenager, though. He was simply oblivious. Why would Kanna set her sights on such a person, especially in a way that made it seem calculated rather than a random opportunity for a meal? Or maybe that was the way she always went about her business. The blonde didn't speak out for any of it, however, content with watching from the corner for the time being, or even until he was found. The darkness did offer cover, but Leonidas hadn't put much thought into hiding in the first place, nor did he deem it necessary. |
