Account Name: [Razgriz Laenwyn] Profile Name: Jax Mandaro Nickname: "Agent Thunder" Age: 25 Gender: Male Height: 1.7 meters Weight: 72 Kilograms Guild: N/A Class: D Affiliation: Neutral Appearance Physical Description: Jax is a striking looking man with deep purple eyes and white loosely unkempt hair, giving him a very outstanding first impression. He is dressed in either road leathers or slack and a blazer, trying to keep his look sleek and well kept at all times. The man has a definite presence about him that oozes energy that people see long before they see his magic. He generally keeps his posture lax and centered but always alert, inherent of his years of martial arts training. His body is lean yet muscular, in a build that prefers speed over power. Clothing: Jax's main outfit is a simple pair of dress slacks, a plain white button up shirt with a matching black blazer. He tends to wear the same black dress shoes regardless of his outfits, which works for him before he leans to wearing black almost constantly. If he is not wearing his formal wear, he prefers to wear black jeans with a matching sports jacket, or road leathers. He is never seen wearing a hat, and even seems to be against the idea altogether. Accessories: Extra: Picture: Jax Mandaro Personality Jax's personality is generally laid back until the situation demands otherwise. When it does, he immediately switches into a cool, calm, and ruthless demeanor. Normally, he likes to be relaxed and jovial, cracking jokes and chatting most of the time. He has a slightly chivalrous side, and will almost certainly cause a fight when someone is disrespecting of a woman. When he is working he plays the more inquisitive and patient side of his personality, refraining to talk about things unless necessary. He lives by the motto, "The game is to be sold, not told." Having been trained in the arts of espionage since a young age, he is well attuned to all sides of his personality and how to play his strengths while covering his disadvantages. He had spent many years studying operational psychology, giving him an edge in social situations when he needs to. He enjoys jazz music of all sorts, especially swing jazz or the newer genres that mix jazz with hip hop. He enjoys having ambient music playing, and is known to have music playing in his house at all times. Jax enjoys bringing down the especially heinous underworld characters, but respects dangers of making a living by robbing drug dealers, human traffickers, and bounties. He sometimes takes pity to his targets, but understands that a moment of hesitation can be deadly. As much as he likes to extract information during a mission, he will shoot first if the situation calls for it. History History Weaponry/Equipment Name: Lockpick Set Class:D Description: A small but fully equipped set of lock picks for any occasion. They are kept in a small black leather roll pouch that Jax keeps on his belt. Effect/Function: Gives the character the ability to pick a wide variety of locks, but is not strong enough to stand against the more advanced security systems. Name: Steel Switchblade Knife Class:D Description: A decently made switch blade knife that conceals a 22 cm double bladed knife and weighs about 175 grams. The casing for the blade itself is treated wood, but what wood it is can be hard to tell. Effect/Function: It can be easily concealed and be used for stabbing and slashing damage. Name: Personal Throwing Knife Class:D Description: A small steel throwing knife that also sports a dual sided blade. It is kept easily concealed within Jax's right sleeve by use of a small leather sheath. It is 15 cm long and weighs about 250 grams. Effect/Function: The sheath allows the knife to be easily flicked out of its sheath and into the user's hand. The knife itself can be used as either a throwing knife or for close quarters combat, where it can deal slashing and stabbing damage. Stats - 55 Power:8 Endurance:10 Toughness:10 Speed:10 Accuracy:7 Magic:10 Earned Stat Points Earned: 0/0 Arc Points Earned: 0/0 Jewels Earned: 100,000/100,000 Sources Sources Skills & Disciplines Information Gathering: Jax has spent many years making his living off of information, and has nearly perfected the art of gathering information. He prefers not to torture people, instead he uses operational psychology to extract information unknowingly from his targets. Acrobatics: Having to grow up in the slums of Dandelion before becoming a spy, Jax spent a lot of time developing the art of running from the law and or street thugs. Jax is proficient at moderate level parkour and other acrobatic skills. Human Tracking: While many people have made their living hunting and tracking animals, Jax has found that much of his work involves hunting and tracking people. Not only does it pay well, it has its own challenges that you would not find anywhere else. Martial Arts: Not specializing in any particular style of martial arts, Jax utilizes versatility in close quarters combat. He underwent much of his martial arts training when he joined the mercenary group when he was young. He never took the time to learn weapon styles in martial arts aside from daggers and knives, using his smaller knives to strike and lash out like snakes. Magic Magic Name: Twilight Lightning Magic Type: Lost Magic: Lighting and Shadow Manipulation Tier of Magic:T1 Rank:2 Magic Description:Twilight Lightning is a form of Lost Magic that allows the user to use Lightning as its primary form of magic, as well as the element of Shadow to allow for defensive and support capabilities. The user is able to manipulate both elements while casting spells that resemble the coming darkness and power of a incoming thunderstorm. In its most powerful moments, they have the power to bring darkness and light simultaneously anywhere they occurred. The ying and yang of this magic, the electricity and the shadow, work as an primarily offensive and defensive combination. The lightning side of Twilight Lightning is the most prominent side of this magic, and allows the user to either launch offensive attacks, enhance the user's speed, or add a devastating boost to the user's physical attacks. At expert level, the user is able to use his or her lightning to enhance their speed to near godly levels, and add incredible amounts of lightning power to their attacks. Lightning attacks start out small, like singular bolts of lightning, and slowly progress to huge thunderstorms that call down hundreds of lightning bolts unto an enemy. The shadow side of Twilight Lightning covers the weakness of the Lightning element, giving the user the ability to meld into and move through shadows, call up walls of darkness to block projectile attacks, and even wrap oneself in shadow as an added defense. At its later stages, the shadow magic applied by the user can manipulate shadows at will, allowing the user to use shadows to ensnare opponents, as well as creating ones own shadows to move through regardless of the presence of natural shadows. The durability of the shadows used to defend the user increases as well, almost from a wavering mist to a completely solid suit of armor. The strengths of the magic rely on its adaptability, and using the surrounding of the user to its advantage. Techniques: 3/3 Lightning Strike - (Rank 2) Type: Offensive Range: 20 M Effect: Lightning Strike casts a 2cm wide and 6cm long bolt of lightning in a jagged line from the user's hand. This spell causes minor damage, and the cooldown is 3 posts. Twilight Veil - (Rank 1) Type: Defensive Range: Self Effect: Twilight Veil casts a tangible, dense, and flexible shadow over the user, giving him the equivalent of D-class armor to one limb. Shadow has to be present in order to cast this ability. The spell lasts 2 posts and has a cooldown of 3 posts. Edited by Razgriz Laenwyn, May 26 2017, 01:48 AM.

Aight. So. If you're planning on doing dual elements, it needs to have a sensible and cohesive theme working throughout. Also, shadow doesn't do healing. Sorry. take that bit out altogether. Without you having a Support Specialist, or Focused magic, you're not going to get many buffs and debuffs. So if you're hoping for tons of either here, now is the time to get that out of your head. Also, while I'm here, I'm sure you realize this but your lightning won't move at the speed of well...Light. Because that's a no-no here. (same goes with sound, so dw. You're not alone.) Lightning Strike - Not sure the duration should be instant tbph. It's only rank 2 my dude. - Does it travel in a straight line? - Is the target selected before casting? - Can it hone? - Important things to consider. Twilight Veil - It would only cover one limb at this rank. 2 at the next. 3 at 3. And full body at rank 4. - Does this require actual shadow to be present naturally at this point? I mean, it's rank 1 and all. Edited by Inara Serra, Apr 29 2017, 04:30 AM.

Firstly, the theme is something I am working on, there is a two week party going on in my city over a two minute horse race, so it is sapping a little bit of my creative juices there. I took out the healing bit, and the supporting buffs and debuffs are fine, I am cool with an offensive/defensive combination. The literal lightning speed was something I made sure I understood before I started working on this character, so no worries I'm not worried about any nerfing you guys will have to do, it comes with the territory. I took the instant cast out of lightning strike and clarified how it casts, did you happen to mean home instead of hone? If you meant home I did not mean to imply it, I understand it's a weak spell. Or would this spell have to be a charging spell? And the edits for twilight veil are put in as well, and put in that shadow has to be present because it is a rank 1 spell. -History should be longer, and have much more detail -Go into more detail about his childhood in the slums, did he have a role model? Did he starve? Was he ever in a particularly trying situation? Who'd he meet? How'd he learn magic etc -remember the more detailed the better and the more you'll have to use in the future for storylines and threads! |

To hone in on someone would be nearly the same as what I think you're implying when you say home. It is nearly the same word, depending on the usage. Otherwise. 1/2 |

Saying a spell causes damage "slightly above bruising" isn't really clear enough. If you want to use descriptors, use the Rank 2 damage equivalent word "minor" and describe what type of damage. In this "like a taser" i suppose is ok. The only reason I nitpick this is, what even is above bruising? In the end, its a wording clarity change and one that puts it in line with the way other spells are written. Aside from that, i'll 2/2 it when changed. |
