Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Mallorie's journey hasn't been going on for long. The young celestial spirit wizard had been traveling for a few months now, but there wasn't anything in particular that she had done. She had visited quite a few areas within Fiore in the past few months -- and gotten into certain hilarious predicaments --, but typically, nothing major had happened. Why had she decided to travel towards Belladonna, though? Well, like any celestial spirit wizard, she was roving the lands for keys -- keys that will allow her to advance in her magical practices. Naturally, though, she hadn't had much luck.

Silver keys were easy to come by. Gold gate keys, however, were almost a lucid, rosy dream. How unfortunate.

Entering Belladonna was like entering a completely different dimension. A technological, lacrima-filled marvel was before her. The bustle and hustle was different than most cities in Fiore as well, she noted. Everything was so centered on the technology around -- plenty of the denizens had lacrima-based items to assist them in their daily lives. The architecture was clearly heavily lacrima influenced as well. Large monitors made out of lacrima, energy sources made out of lacrima, and even locales made out of lacrima truly made Belladonna unique. No wonder Belladonna was regarded as a great industrial city.

"This place certainly is amazing. . ." Mallorie breathed in awe, looking to the glinting Silver key on her wrist. Her celestial spirit, Serpens, the Serpent, seemed to agree -- although she didn't necessarily hear everything. If anything, Serpens only truly detected when Mallorie was in danger. It had been a while since she'd been in danger, and due to contractual obligations, she can't just summon Serpens whenever she wished. No, it really wasn't that simple.

Mallorie continued to explore the scape like the argonaut, heading through winding passage ways until she reached the market. As expected, this was far busier than the inner-city ever could be. Without a doubt, Mallorie was bound to find something of use here. She wanted a new key, but perhaps none of them would attract her. With deliberate and clicking steps, the pink-haired wizard continued her trek through the marketplace.

Belladonna was supposed to be nothing but a stop on the spacial mage's journey to Fiore's capitol. Yet, there was so much more to the city then she would have ever thought. Sure, Lilith had heard stories of the technological marvels that made up the area, but she had been skeptical at best. Acacia was impressive. This place, well it was fundamentally different. It was almost as if Belladonna had been transported from the future. Tall buildings lined the street, making one feel the need to look up rather than ahead. And although each was unique, all the structures fit together like pieces in a puzzle. It made Lilith wonder how long the city took to build.

Naturally, all of this made her want to explore Belladonna more. That was how the mage ended up at the city's market. It was a busy place, to say the least, and crowded. So crowded that Lilith had already ran into at least two people. Then again, that was happening to pretty much everyone. It was even hard to see the shops in her current position. Still, Lilith was determined to find something of use. Perhaps there was a magic shop of some kind. Consumables and the like were always useful tools. It would be much better if the mage were to better her own magic instead of purchasing things like that, but the former option was hard. Painfully hard, especially since she didn't have a family to connect to anymore.

She was wearing her usual attire that day, a black t-shirt with jeans, or at least for the most part. It was a bit warm out that day, so Lilith had opted to wear her more ripped up variant of pants and sandals instead of boots. There were no weapons on her body that day either, after all there really wasn't much of a need. It would be impossible to fight in such a crowded place anyways.

It was with that thought in mind that the mage bumped into the third person. Or in this case, girl, as she looked the figure up and down before saying a quick "Sorry." Upon further inspection, she noticed the girl's rather bizarre hair color along with the key hanging from her hand. Wait, was that what Liltih thought it was? "Do you, by chance, happen to be a celestial spirit mage?" she asked, only a moment after apologizing. The spacial mage was thoroughly intrigued. She had only ever heard about such mages before.

As fate would hate it, without a sliver of doubt, Mallorie was caught in a vortex of merchants attempting to sell her her wares. They had noted her as a mage, and typically so, they wished to sell her all kinds of items that could potentially help her on her journey. One tried to sell her an advanced, "state-of-the-art" lacrima watch, which would assist with communication. This somewhat intrigued her, but when she was told the price, she had to slyly abscond before she embarrassed herself further. Mallorie was rather honest about many things -- Jewels was one of them.

Another merchant tried to sell her magic enhancing potions which would, as the merchant noted, no doubt assist her in summoning more celestial spirits than she could presumably do so. Although this could prove fruitful in the future, Mallorie only had one contract, and she wished to advance her magical prowess and capacity on her own. After all, what kind of mage would she be if she had to rely on outside sources for power? If anything, those kind of things were meant for emergencies. Also, the price was also a little steep, and this celestial spirit wizard was on a budget. She had rent to pay, along with other bills, and travel expenses -- no way was she trying to go into debt.

And finally, one last merchant was rather eerie. He kept eyeing Mallorie's gate key, yet tried to sell her mysterious items that Mallorie couldn't understand the explanation too. With furrowed brows of worry and flummox, Mallorie held no shame when she walked away from the crepuscular figure and kept on going her way. Certainly, how Belladonna is set, it did attract quite the individuals.

Without noticing, Mallorie bumped into someone -- or, well, was bumped into. The girl before her couldn't have been much older than Mallorie herself, with highly casual attire compared to Mallorie's own dressy vestments. Hearing the apology, Mallorie offered one of her own. However, the girl's sight soon was caught by Mallorie's glinting silver gate key, and she nodded slowly. With how that merchant was already eyeing her gate key, Mallorie had to harbor some kind of suspicion -- although it wasn't readily evident.

"Uh, sure,"
She replied. "I'm a celestial spirit wizard. I'm surprised you've never met one before. . ." She trailed off, realizing how stupid she sounded. Her kind weren't exactly common.

Of course, Lilith got the answer she was expecting. This girl, whoever she was, did not hide her status of a mage. Or at least not well. On the contrary, Lilith had easily slipped by the majority of vendors. Such was the advantages of wearing somewhat worn clothing. People don't assume you have a lot of jewel. Anyways, back to the case at hand. The mage was a bit put off by the girl's second statement. After all, Lilith hadn't said anything about not having met a magic user of her breed before. She quickly put it behind her, however, simply thinking it was nothing but an assumption on the pink-haired mage's half.

"Yeah, I haven't," she started, "I may not look the part, but I'm an aspiring mage myself. Emphasis on aspiring, I suppose. My name's Lilith, by the way." Unlike what the words Lilith spoke would suggest, she said them with relative happiness in her voice. Her discontent was something more deeply rooted than her words could betray. Although, trying was better than doing nothing, was it not?

Looking ahead, Lilith noticed that the foot traffic on the street had come to an almost complete standstill. In fact, over the course of time she had been speaking, the mage herself had been bumped into numerous times by people that were in a hurry. It would seem that her and the pink-haired mage would be stuck next to each other, or at least for the time being. Sooner or later, things would start moving again. Lilith hoped they would, at least.

Could it be? Was Mallorie Yune, Stellar Spirit mage, actually clairvoyant? Impossible -- there was just no way! No certain way that this ordinary, pom-pom hair having, poppy red-haired, golden-eyed young woman a true-blue psychic! If you guessed it, then you are incredibly incorrect. Mallorie Yune was simply a girl that assumed that Lilith hadn't met a Stellar Spirit mage. Perhaps it was in the way that Lilith asked the question, or her general body language. Mallorie didn't know, but something told her that this girl before her hadn't met one before. Who knows, though -- Mallorie certainly doesn't.

With Lilith's introduction, Mallorie made no tardy in introducing herself as well. "I'm Mallorie Yune -- it's nice to meet you, Lilith," She regarded the girl with a small smile, her golden eyes alight with jubilee. Mallorie never really expected to meet someone new so soon. Perhaps she could use this to her advantage in the future. After all, the more friends and connections one had, the more development they could accrue. Although that was rather selfish of Mallorie to think, there wasn't any actual helping it. Mallorie's immediate goal is to join a guild, and with that faction in place, she'll be capable of gleaning more Jewels from the multitude of jobs posted on the boards daily! Hopefully she doesn't choose one that goes over the top.

"I didn't really think I'd end up talking with someone at length here," Mallorie began as the streets clamor began to reduce itself to wisps, the clogging now evident to everyone. Directing her gaze to the throngs and droves of people now all jostling each other, Mallorie wondered what could have been happening for things to slow down so quickly. "I wonder if something's happening. Maybe someone decided to put on a show?" She inquired, quirking a brow and looking to Lilith. "Do you usually come to Belladonna? Isn't it amazing? All the lacrima and lacrima-based technology. This is like, the future of magic, don't you think? It's pretty grand. . ." Mallorie then began to go on a tangent about all she knew about lacrima.

She knew a lot about plenty of things.

". . . and lacrima can even be placed inside of a person's body to enhance their magical prowess, even if they didn't have much to begin with. Isn't that amazing? There's so much lacrima can do, and I'm sure there are even amazing mages who specialize in it." With this, her tangent slowly ebbed away as the people began to free up, attempting to extricate themselves from everyone. It wasn't working out, though. Perhaps there were just too many people all in one area, or something else was transpiring. Mallorie couldn't see from here, no matter how much she tried to force her height.

"Nice to meet you too, Mallorie," Lilith cheerfully replied to the other girl's introduction. Despite the clogged street, it was a pleasant day, the sun shining with few clouds in the sky. It wasn't quite summer yet, but the time would be coming soon, especially this far south in Fiore. Not to mention nothing of incident had occurred yet in Belladonna. The mage shuddered for a second, thinking of all the horrid things she had seen in Dandelion not too long ago. First, the mutilated bodies of the dead. Then those giant rats down in the sewers. To be honest, Lilith wasn't too sure which she thought of as worse.

"Really? Belladonna is a city with lots of people," she answered to her fellow mage's second statement. Lilith's mind then started to wander back to Dandelion, but she forced herself to stay present. She wasn't in that city right now, so why think about it? Belladonna had more appeal, that much was certain. The mage still wasn't over all the beautiful and large architecture that surrounded her. It seemed Mallorie had a similar view point, as after asking a question that Lilith gave a shoulder shrug to she proceeded to ramble on and on about the city. It wasn't that bad, after all she could gain quite a lot of information about the celestial spirit mage from her words. An avid reader, perhaps. Mallorie was certainly one with a thirst for knowledge, that much was a given.

"Oh yeah, lacryma's really useful. It's helped me on jobs quite a few times."

Lilith really didn't know what to say aside from that. She wondered for a moment if the communication devices she and Beryl had used on the caravan were powered by lacryma. More than likely, yes. That event, too, had occurred in Dandelion. Why couldn't she seem to get her head out of that wretched city?

The city still remained as congested as just a few seconds ago. Nothing had changed while Lilith and Mallorie distracted each other. Mallorie continued to wonder if something was happening, but she doubted it; considering how full the city was, the only thing that could happen was a pick-pocket coming by and stealing from someone. Thinking about this, Mallorie gripped her Gate Key in her hand and furrowed her brow. She couldn't even begin to fathom the idea of losing Serpens' key, and Serpens permanently. She'd have to trek through tribulations just to retrieve her, and she wasn't entirely sure she was prepared for that. Luckily, Mallorie was prepared for that potentially happening.

It wasn't long before Mallorie realized that Lilith was distracted by something. Could something be wrong? Mallorie through, slight consternation on her face. Perhaps Lilith was facing some kind of traumatic past, or things along those lines; Mallorie wasn't entirely sure. She didn't feel particularly inclined to ask, at least not yet. Mallorie perhaps could understand -- but what happened a long time ago receded into the past. Her best friend's death is what drove her to practice magic more fervently and pursue the power necessary to protect those near to her, but maybe it wasn't the same. This seemed like something that, perhaps, happened a bit more recently.

As the two continued to wade through the crowd to some unplanned, unexpected outcome, Mallorie flicked her gaze at Lilith ever so often, completely silent. It was after a few minutes that Mallorie finally mustered up the courage to ask what trepidation Lilith was fighting with. "I don't mean to pry, but. . ." She began, carefully and deliberately. "Is there something that's bothering you? You're kind of exhibiting symptoms of having some kind of. . . Flashback? I guess, not that extreme. . . But you're obviously having thoughts of some kind that are bothering you,"

The mage noted as Mallorie increased her grip on the key of sorts she was carrying, wondering to herself exactly how a celestial spirit was summoned in the first place. Was it possible that anyone could pull one out of thin air if only they had the correct key and incantation? Or was their some sort of bond or agreement that had to be made between the mage and summon? Lilith guessed it was the latter, but she was almost tempted to ask Mallorie if she could see the silver key at her wrist, just to try working the object. She didn't, however, as not only would that be considered rude but it was also quite obvious to the blue-eyed girl that the celestial mage held the key close to her heart.

A few minutes of somewhat awkward silence between the two insued after that, almost enough to make Lilith think that the conversation had ended. They were still next to each other, of course, and were following the rest of the crowd, but it wasn't until Mallorie said something again to Lilith that she realized that the two were still speaking. The other mage's words made her pause in her train of thought for a moment. Was her shock over the state of Dandelion really that evident?

"Oh no, it's nothing like that. I just left Dandelion after returning for the first time in three years. It was kind of... shocking to see that nothing in that dump had changed," she replied, forcing a laugh and a smile. And although her words were entirely true, they hurt for her to say. Yet, it wasn't the type of pain that showed on the surface of her being. She supposed it was a more tumultuous feeling, as if her heart was being torn in two.

Soon, the traffic started to move a little bit more fluidly, although not really enough for much to happen. The pair were, however, approaching a coffee shop. Lilith, being a bit hungry herself, pointed at the sign and then turned to Mallorie.

"Do you want to go stop in there that way we can wait for the crowd to pass? I'll pay for anything you want."

The crowd continued to inflate, and Mallorie wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Groaning internally at the thought, she was happy that today was simply a calm and relaxing sort, and nothing extreme began to happen. If she was being perfectly candid, she was exhausted of all the mess she managed to get herself and Serpens into whenever she took on a job. However, she had no choice but to do what she needed to do to better herself as a mage. All that was left now was to leave Belladonna and find somewhere else to take up a job, but for now, she needed to continue to learn more about her new friend, Lilith.

As Lilith explained about Dandelion, Mallorie couldn't help but shiver as well. She had heard harrowing tales of Dandelion, and how it was a pot of complete and utter crime. It was a mess, she had heard, and it needed some major enforcement. With everything going on right now, however, Mallorie was certain that the kingdom found it difficult to actually do anything about the city. All Mallorie could do is hope for the best, and avoid Dandelion like the plague; there was no way this girl was landing herself into such a pernicious situation or city. No way, not even if the Spirit King demanded that she visited the city to save it from itself.

Hah, as if that would happen,
she thought to herself.

Approaching the coffee shop, Lilith soon offered for the two to acclimate within while traffic settled, and she even offered to pay for Mallorie's expenses. Gasping, Mallorie enthusiastically agreed. "That would be great, yeah!" She exclaimed. At this point, she'd follow Lilith's lead into the coffee shop, and she already knew what she was going to order. After all, she was kind of hungry herself.

Score one for Lilith, she thought to herself enthusiastically as Mallorie practically leaped for joy at the mage's mention of the coffee shop near the two. Of course, it probably had something to do with the fact that the brown-haired girl had offered to pay for the celestial mage, but truthfully Lilith didn't really mind. She had a decent amount of jewel, after that job she had completed, so it wasn't like the girl was struggling for money. More would be nice, sure, but for now it would suffice. Besides, the mage had come to realize that people were always in the need of magic of some sort, and although the pickings were oftentimes rough, missions and the like paid pretty well in her opinion. It was better then staying in one place, that much Lilith was sure of.

The pair approached the coffee shop, a brown double storied building with greens of different shades painted on to make the place pop more. Written in white letters were the words 'Smith's Caffeinated Beverages'. Why again couldn't they just have put coffee? Nevertheless, Lilith barely hesitated in entering the building, letting the door hang behind her that way Mallorie wouldn't get smacked in the back if she didn't hold it open for herself. Not surprisingly, the store was pretty crowded, although large. Most of the people seemed to be just getting in and getting out, however, as most of the shop's tables and chairs weren't occupied.

Walking over towards the back of the coffee line, Lilith looked up at the menu of the place. There wasn't anything remarkable, just the typical drinks you would find at a 'caffeinated beverage' store. There was also some food, most notably pastries and the like. The mage knew almost immediately what she wanted, but their were still three or four people in line in front of the two. She supposed that would give Mallorie a lot of time to figure out what she wanted.
