Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Bringing in a bit of background information for the two young men, Rei and Retsu Ashur; the two young brothers were technically born two years apart yet genetically modified to synchronize their magic which simply means that neither one can perform magic without the other nearby – within an one-hundred and fifty meter radius. While that may prove difficult for some, or even considered mad scientist type shit to others, their magic is actually quite fun and extremely destructive so they always travel together because who doesn’t like a good time, eh? Anyways, they complement one another well enough that more often than not, they’re mistaken as twins despite their differing appearances and general attitudes. Rei, the oldest who is taller and dons lengthy locks of obsidian, has a funny, insincere personality while Retsu, the youngest who is obviously shorter with cropped, messy ravenous hair, has a more serious, intellectually stimulated personality. It’s not rare for the two to bicker and fight over silly little things but knowing that they cannot survive without the other, they usually patch things up rather quickly. The brothers share a side of their personality, however – they’re chaotic and sadistic, fueling one another with ideals of mass destruction and you guessed it, a sick & twisted good time. But let’s get on with this…

Rei and Retsu had come to the conclusion that having a park adventure in Magnolia would prove amusing if not substantially humorous so, they set out for Southgate Park from their home in Crocus. Upon arriving at the park, Rei stopped Retsu at the edge of the park’s southeastern edge, not allowing him to step forward as his eyes squinted in efforts to scan the nearby area with suspicion.

Hrm, what’s the problem?” Retsu inquired, gazing at his brother with half-laden eyes, “Let go of me.

Rei’s crimson orbs widened, releasing his grasp of Retsu as he pushed him forward, waiting a moment before realigning his sights to their previous dubious stare. Raising a hand to his head in a facepalm response while sighing, Retsu asked again, “Rei? The problem, care to share?” Rei brushed aside a few strands of ebony hair, perking his ear to listen to the chirps of birds, chatter of squirrels, and mindless speeches given by nearby strangers then frowned.

I don’t hear it,” he stated to which Retsu replied, “Hear what? Did you suddenly become a dog capable of hearing higher pitches of sound?

Rei gave the most serious expression he could muster and pointed to his brother then to the sky whilst speaking, “Shouldn’t there be villain music playing in the background or lightning striking since our arrival? Aren’t we the antagonists?” Retsu’s left eye twitched as he blinked, unable to actually comprehend Rei’s unequivocal level of stupidity, then after a good sixty to seventy seconds of silence finally said, “…what?” Shaking his head, Retsu held up his hand to keep Rei from digging a deeper hole, “I don’t want you to even explain… just stop, right there.” The older brother opened his mouth, actually wanting to further delve into this injustice of no background music and absence of lightning, but slid a finger over his mouth as his lips curled into a smile, “But Retsu…

I said to shut it,” he growled, “Now let’s go and swing or something of equal merriment instead of discussing the universe’s conspiracy against you.” Huffing, Rei followed behind Retsu with his hands tucked into the pockets of his pants before rushing past him to get to the swings first because if you weren’t first, well, you were just last. Nobody liked being last, especially Rei Ashur, the infamous Mr. Pink. He plopped into a swing and giggled like some little girl as he pushed himself against the ground, moving the swing and himself higher into the air while Retsu quietly sat in his swing, watching his brother act childish. The laughter made him feel a bit of ease as he stared at his feet, delicately kicking bits of earth from under his shoes, swaying gently in the breeze of a nice day. This was fine; perfect, actually, and he gazed over at Rei with an inspiring admiration, as well as a slight jealousy, for such a free spirit.

Although the two were engineered to be machines of destruction, they had been stripped of a childhood and while Retsu couldn’t understand the inner workings of Rei, he knew that his brother had endured far more suffering than he could imagine and by god, he had his own demons to deal with so he tended to allow Rei his reign of petulance. Call it a soft spot, perhaps, or his brother’s keeper. Rei wasn’t stupid nor intellectually challenged, just extremely childish and wreckless with first impressions, and Retsu wouldn’t have him any other way. They balanced each other out and sometimes, Retsu let his own guard down in order to have fun when Rei wouldn’t just let it go. Right now though, he cared more about protecting and observing, watching passers-by while his brother played merrily in the swing next to him.

We will need to be home before dark or mother will be angry,” he expressed with mirth evident in his voice. Rei didn’t hear him or didn’t care to listen and continued swinging, enjoying the time spent here as he rose even higher above the ground, forcing himself to twirl around the set itself. Retsu scratched an unseen itch on his eyebrow and caught a glimpse of something near the enormous oak tree centered in the park. “Eyyyy, Rei. Think I might have found someone to play with.

"What d'you mean you're out?"

A dismayed voice rose above the murmur of the crowd from in front of a street vendor. The owner looked around in panic worried about a scene being started. Waving at his product he tried to calm the situation down. "L-look, we just don't have that flavor of icecream in stock anymore. But there's all these others to choose from, see?" Although the young woman in front of him wasn't all that physically imposing in her white sundress she was threatening to just be bad for business.

With a heavy sigh Vivian shook her head. She had been waiting all day for this moment, telling herself that before she went back to the room she had rented there would be a divine treat of strawberry icecream waiting for her. All for naught, all for naught. Not being in any mood to go searching for someplace else that had what she needed Viv surrendered to the fates and accepted her unfortunate situation.

"One bottle of... whatever, orange juice."

A brief exchange of jewels for the bottled beverage later and she was wandering the streets again. There was a park around here right? Maybe she could stop there for awhile, catch her breath and de-stress. Seeing a relatively friendly looking face on the streets she approached and tapped them on the shoulder. "Hey.... excuse me. Yeah hi. Um, is there a big park close to here? I could have sworn I sa- down the road? Past two streets and then a left, perfect. Thank you so much!"

Sipping her drink as she walked Vivian muttered to herself a few minutes later. "Now was that... Down the street and a left for two more streets? Or... Hmm. Well I'll figure it out."

Spoiler: click to toggle

"AHA! I HAVE YOU NOW PARK!"

The shouting drew some concerned looks from people in the vicinity as Vivian pointed in triumph at the target of her obsessions. In the end she had gone around almost all of Magnolia before circling back around to where she had started. Her first drink was long sitting in the bottom of a trash can somewhere, and she was now on her third bottle. No amount of fate or poor recollection was going to keep her from enjoying the nice park, no sir.

Marching herself over to the oak tree smack dab right in the centre she laid down and made herself comfortable, closing her eyes and enjoying the last rays of sunlight the day had to offer.

Indeed, Retsu had found something that caught his ever-wandering eye and in the form of a maiden wrapped in white fabric, he smiled with brilliantly white teeth visible from under tender lips. She had appeared to have fallen asleep and oh boy, did Retsu get a tingling sensation running up his spine as he stared at her, completely fixated on what he could do while she was napping all alone. A giddy scream of excitement broke his focus of whatever it was he had been thinking about, making him sigh with exasperation. The swing Rei was on suddenly stopped in mid-descent by way of magic, forcing the eldest to fall out and land on the ground with his face scraping across the dirt, leaving behind dry scratches of irritating burn on his features.

The hell, man?!” he groaned as he picked himself up and brushed away the debris,”What was that for?

Retsu narrowed his eyes at the girl for a second before turning to look at Rei, “Do you ever listen to me?” Retsu shook his head, a blank expression on his face while holding out his hands with a shrug, “Eh? Didn’t know you were talkin’ or duh, I’d of listened. But that shit you just pulled… That was so rude.” Rolling his matching red hues, Retsu started walking towards the tree and his newly acquired target, musing over more ideas of what kind of things the two could do in a matter of minutes without anyone being the wiser. “Huh? Where you going? Retsu? Retsuuu? RETSU! LISTEN TO ME!” Rei yammered on before grabbing him by the shoulder after catching up to him, “What’re you doing?” Abruptly grasping Rei by the cheeks with his hand, he pulled him next to his line of sight and grinned, “If, by any miracle of a chance, you would have been listening, I told you that I found someone we could play with. Her, that girl in the white dress, casually taking a nap by that tree over there.

Peeling himself away from Retsu’s face, Rei ran his hands through his luxurious locks of hair then shimmied, feeling an array of emotions before immediately pointing both hands at the girl, or to anyone passing, looked to be the general area of said tree, “Yeaaaaahhh! But shouldn’t we, errrr, ask her about playing with us? Last time we played without asking, that ol’ boy died of a heart attack but wasn’t he like, twelve or something? Must’ve had high cholesterol, I guess.” Retsu crossed his arms, “He didn’t have a heart attack, you moron.” “Must’ve been the trashcans then. Either way, kind of feel bad about killing him…” Rei replied, lowering his hands as he started to feel sympathy which Retsu quickly rejected, “Speaking of trashcans, you can put those unnecessary emotions into that one right there.” Strangely enough, there was a trashcan nearby and Retsu pointed to it in a curtly manner, not wanting Rei to feel anything other than the desire for a good time. Rei just quivered his bottom lip, his eyes almost verging on bringing tears as he looked to Retsu, silently pleading with his brother to let him ask.

Fine, if you must,” the youngest nodded, “But it defeats the purpose of my ---” His voice trailed off while watching Rei scurry towards the girl, an exhilaration obvious in his steps as he skipped over to her and upon reaching her, knelt in a sitting position without actually taking a seat at her feet with his hands over his knees. Rei’s face was bright with elation and a never-ending smile plastered his skiddish features as he craned his neck forward to blink repeatedly. She was really pretty in that white sundress and he liked what he was looking at – her deep chestnut hair, tanned skin, and downright completely opposite of him. Most of the girls he seen or interacted with all looked the same; pale skinned, white haired, and blue eyed, so this was a welcomed change of pace for the Ashur boy. It wasn’t that he actually had never seen other colours of girls, it’s just that he was never able to be this close to one, let alone be able to speak to one.

Pretty girl, hey!” he stated, unable to say anything other than the obvious, “Wanna play with me? Yes, no, maybe?

Verba volant, scripta manent.

The day was soft, if that was a possible way to describe such a thing. The southern touch of the land breached through Magnolia's borders, despite the season it was warm, birds were chattering, people too. More so the inhabitants of the city than the wildlife, as a matter of fact. These were not things the blonde-haired man usually liked being around. Yet, for some reason he was enjoying himself that day. It probably had to do with the fact that Leonidas had found what he was looking for that day, solid information.

With the slight hint of a sincere smile on his face, the first time the man had experienced such a thing in what felt like an eternity, he strolled down the worn yet appealing streets of Magnolia. Calamitas was at his side, like the sword always was, but for once the object didn't feel like a burden. Perhaps Eris was in a fine mood that day. In fact, the more Leonidas thought about that the more he believed it to be true. She had always loved the hustle and bustle of cities, especially southern ones, after all, despite the overlooming reality that the couple almost never could visit such places. If the man were to have drawn his sword at that moment, he would have been able to see a faint violet glow beneath the blade's wrappings. Even without that, Leonidas could practically touch her presence at the moment. It was an emotion full of grace and beauty, and it pulled at the man's heart.

Slowly but surely, however, he was pushed back to reality. Even though he wanted nothing more then to stay, his mind wouldn't allow it, wouldn't allow him, to respite. That was why he trudged forward, faster now. The light emanating from Calamitas blinked out, although the fact was that no one had seen it in the first place. No one except Leonidas.

A few minutes later, the crimson-eyed man arrived at Southgate Park. He settled down on one of the park's many benches, one that positioned both the large oak tree and a set of swings in his line of sight. Leaning back, the man could imagine himself falling asleep at that particular moment, only waking to view the setting sun and the cordial night air that would set in soon afterwards. Yet Leonidas didn't do so. Truthfully speaking, he had a duty to perform at the park that day, one of observation. All sorts of people frequented Magnolia. Someone out there had information that he needed, even more troves of it than what had had gained from that elderly woman earlier. Not that she was old in Leonidas's eyes, of course.

And observe he did, picking up the magic used by a certain individual on one of the two boys frequenting the swing set. Gravity magic, to be exact. He had seen the peculiar type of magic used many times before, but was mildly impressed with the caster's ability to control it, only forcing one of the two boys to the ground. The taller one it would see. Perhaps the other was the mage? Whatever the case, Leonidas continued to watch the two as they conversed, and although he could hear not their words, it was obvious to the blonde man that they were attempting to do something to a girl sleeping nearby. Lucky for Leonidas, as the older-looking boy approached her, his voice came within the man's earshot. He could predict what would happen next. But he did not interfere.

What's The Point

It was a beautiful evening, objectively speaking. A warm breeze drifted through Magnolia's streets despite the setting sun, bringing an almost picturesque drift to the albino's hair as she made her way down the city streets. The evening birds chirped amongst one another as the city's inhabitants made their way about the evening in a far less hectic manner than usual - in part due to the exceptionally quaint weather at this hour. Children laughed and tussled about on the sidewalks as their mothers looked on in bemusement from their porches, gossiping amongst themselves and stealing glances at strangers as they passed by.

Disgusting.

VI could feel the eyes of these parents on her visage as she walked past their children. She could sense their disapproval as their gazes settled on her long, messy hair, her glowing alien eyes, her wrinkled dress shirt and dirty pants, and her charred forearms. They saw her as little more than trouble - they were most likely already referring to her as a "mage" in their heads, as they did with every stranger who did not look entirely mundane. Their words and thoughts were laced with a mixture of sinful emotions - fear, disgust, perhaps envy.

Even within the relatively short span of time she had spent in this country, the Broodmother already hated Fiore. She hated the way its citizens disrespected power the way they did - fearing it, yet trivializing it. VI had been sent on "missions" consisting of little more than parlor tricks for a group of teenagers, and referred to as a "mage" more times than she could count. These people had no respect for the anomalous; it had been turned into a trivial cog in their society, downgraded into consumer goods, turned into a means to an end. The silver-haired woman would be the last to claim that her home country of Bosco was any better, but over there, the people at least feared her and respected her for what she was - a Broodmother. Not some street-side magician who read a book about how to perform card tricks once. What a shithole. She wished nothing more than for this country and its entire citizenry to be consumed entirely by the abyss.

Disillusionment aside, Magnolia's peaceful atmosphere was two-sided, almost; the people went about their lives as if there was no war, as if their fellow men and women were not being slaughtered in a foreign country. There was the same idle chatter, the same oxymoronic briskness about the lax evening commute - and yet, the same heaviness hung in the air as VI had felt back in Bosco. Unacknowledged, but ever-present. There was a distinct abundance of mothers, elderly folk, and small children about the city; the albino knew without a doubt why that was. Even the birds seemed to have a more sober tone to their chattering.

VI snorted. Too bad, so sad. These people were not the ones dying by the hundreds in the thick of the apocalypse. They were not cannon fodder for mages and artillery. No, they were living their lives as they always had, hundreds of kilometers away, tucked away in the safety of their quaint little homes. There were no tanks rolling in the streets, no destroyed buildings, no graffiti painted in viscera, no rotting, fetal corpses clutching charred family photos to their chests. The worst the people of Magnolia had to fear was the letter in the mail that everyone knew would soon be followed by a racket of sobs as soon as it had been taken into the house.

It was with such sober musings that VI entered the nearby park, not out of purpose, but because that was simply what was in front of her. The violet-eyed woman had little idea what she was doing that evening, but it certainly wouldn't be mulling about and waiting to return to Bosco. There had to be something remotely intriguing going around in this stupid town. To that end, it seemed she had walked into some sort of confrontation.

Between children.

Oh joy. VI could already imagine the gawking. Children were fucking idiots. Each time one had come across her, they felt the need to vocally point out one of her many visual oddities and imperfections, as if she was not already aware of it. Be it her glowing violet eyes, her blackened forearms, her pulsating purple veins, her silver hair, her snow white skin, or her overall alien visage, there was always something or another they apparently figured VI was not aware of. What a waste of time. The broodmother did not bother to so much as steal a glance at the confrontation; she hadn't the patience to deal with children - or in this case, what appeared to be teenagers - tonight.

Fuck, she needed a drink.

Stifling a yawn and grumbling at the disturbance Vivian looked up to see what the hell was blocking her precious sunlight. Not that she had gotten much time to get comfortable, but when she needed a nap she was out pretty quick. What was not expected was for there to be a boyish looking guy practically leaning over her all up in her business asking to play. Blinking in surprise she reached out and not too roughly planted her hand on his face with her fingers splayed out. Patting his face she withdrew her hand only to boop his nose.

"Hmm."

Well he wasn't a figment of her imagination at least, or if he was it was a very convincing one. Producing her glasses from hammerspace and placing them on her face she studied him properly for a moment with a very serious look on her face. As if that wasn't enough, she somehow managed to produce a writing pad and pencil from gods only knew where and began scribbling furiously on it while never breaking eye contact. 10, 15, 30 seconds went by... and finally the pad was put down. She couldn't really say no to that begging smile although it was the eyes that really sold her on spending some time with this one. Something about them made her incredibly uncomfortable, and even if it was another dead end she had to delve into exactly why that was the case.

"Hmmmmmm... I suppose that would be acceptable." Having said that a frown formed on her face as she looked around, casually boosting her senses with her magic in the process. "Not really sure what there is to do out here though. Hide and seek? Tag? Name that genus? Eh, not really enough variety out here. Scratch that last one. Ideas?"

One... two.... three? At least three other individuals of interest. One of particular interest. What she could make out sent thrills of excitement up her back as she casually chatted with the youth. Oh she would be so disappointed if they didn't come over. "Although I really don't know if I want to leave the park." Placing a hand on the tree trunk behind her she smiled serenely. "It reminds me of home."

Her demeanour shifted slightly as she suddenly turned her head just enough to give Retsu a calculating sideways glaze. Although she spoke direct to him her voice carried with purpose beyond their immediate vicinity, reaching a pair of casual observers who seemed at the very least mildly invested in the proceedings. If there as any question about it her word choice left it quite clear she was at the very least more situationally aware than her actions would indicate. "You lot going to sit there and gawk all day or are you going to join in the conversation?"

The terrifyingly exciting touch of the woman’s hand spread across his face caused his eyes to widen, the pupils dilating in the process, as he cocked his head very gently in a slight confusion to her boop to his small nose. Her glasses made her eyes larger and he appreciated the accent they gave her slender face, making her appear even more gorgeous in his opinion. But he arched his neck, attempting to examine the words she was writing on the notepad that appeared out of nowhere which ended up being to no avail as he was unable to decipher anything except chicken scratch. Poor penmanship, indeed. When she finally accepted his proposition, he grinned like the Cheshire Cat – wide and full of pearly whites – then clasped his hands together in efforts to clap but ended up looking exceptionally similar to a retarded seal for a good second or two.

"Not really sure what there is to do out here though. Hide and seek? Tag? Name that genus? Eh, not really enough variety out here. Scratch that last one. Ideas?"

Perplexed by the line of inquiry, Rei blankly stared at her because he didn’t mean ‘playing’ in the sense of childish games; more along the lines of tearing people apart and doing so without ever laying a finger on their person. Games were sometimes fun, though, so he shook the thought from his head and shook his head, displaying his inability to think of a proper game for them to play with one another. As she touched the tree, explaining that she didn’t want to leave the park, Rei blinked in misunderstanding, especially when she said it reminded her of home. What is she, a damn squirrel? … I knew it – the hair, the skin, those doe eyes! A SECRET SQUIRREL! I’m onto you, pretty girl, and I’ve got nuts in my pants just for you. "Want/some/of/my/nuts?" he shamelessly asked in a single breath. Literally, he had a package of peanuts stashed in a side pocket of his skin-tight leather pants that he occasionally munched on because they were his absolute favorite snack. Honey roasted, to be exact. His crimson hues narrowed in suspicion but said suspicion dissolved as she worried more about the other people around and he as well, turned his focus to the other people, one being his sibling… so, technically, one stranger and a flying purple people eater.

"You lot going to sit there and gawk all day or are you going to join in the conversation?"

Rei felt absolutely useless in this situation, regardless of what the pretty girl had previously stated, and his expression showed as much. He reached out to attempt touching her hand if she wouldn’t reject it; really trying to get her attention back to him, and when he did his attempt, he was thinking that his brother always received feminine wiles even though he wasn’t interested in girls, at all. However, she didn’t know that nor did he bother explaining his brother’s disinterest in the female gender but he was genuinely curious of her and wanted to play only with her. So, he bested the facial contortion, pouting as well as producing puppy-dog eyes, and whined softly, “Pretty girl, don’t worry about them. I’m asking you to play with me, just me. But if I’m not good enough, I’ll go find someone else.

Fucking lies.

He didn’t want to play with anyone else besides her but hopefully, the others wouldn’t approach them because she was his plaything. If Mr. Pink wasn’t going to get his toy, nobody else would and he’d make damn sure of that since sharing was despairing, not caring. So, he tried to do the normal thing by begging and pleading for him to become her cynosure but until she made a choice, that’s all he could really do for the time being. Hopefully, he prayed unto himself, that none of the others would join them and just pretend they didn’t exist. Hopefully.

Retsu, who had crossed his arms while observing the interaction between the girl in white and brother, had become slightly bored with the lack of sadism thus turned his gaze elsewhere. Children ran amuck, dashing past him with little to no respect of elders, teasing and taunting one another, which frankly, made him visibly irritated. A snarl ran across his lips in disgust of their actions and for a fleeting second, he fantasized about huge boulders smashing them into pieces – blood, guts, and tiny limbs littering the park’s picture-esque scenery.

Delightful little visions of massacre dancing in his head.

Turning his head to completely delude himself as he watched the children run away, unfortunately unharmed, Retsu caught glimpse of something shimmering in the sun’s dying rays from a peripheral vantage. “Ohhh, what is this?” he whispered into the wind, keeping his posture the same as he studied the mildly amusing figure, presumably a boy, sitting on a bench with a sword dangling from a hip. His scowl quickly morphed into a smirk while his eyes drifted into knife-like slits that could be easily mistaken for daggers if one were to appreciate such things. Bringing his attention to two of the legs of said bench, on the left side, close enough where the silhouette was stationed, he forced a bit of magic to snap both legs, forcing the bench to fall down on the legless side. The two legs were propelled outwards and at a decent speed in the direction of a person minding their own business but as his eyes followed the pieces of wood, he noticed something absolutely intriguing.

By nature’s creation, what in the hell is that beauty?!” he said aloud, allowing his arms to dangle absent-mindedly at his sides and an agape mouth fell in disbelief of what his vision was portraying.

Under normal circumstances, Retsu would never find himself admiring the feminine physique but this, this shit right here, this was a goddamn goddess. He couldn’t look away; hell, he didn’t even try, and his stare was quite obvious because well, to make an acronym out of this – it was like a train wreck in the sense that it was horrifying but poetically beautiful at the same time. While he mentally described her gorgeous appearance to himself, his attention was suddenly interrupted by a voice calling out, disrupting his inner infatuation with a female of unknown origin.

"You lot going to sit there and gawk all day or are you going to join in the conversation?"

A rage unknown to the surrounding people flooded through his small body as he balled his fists, ready to snap a bitch’s neck for interrupting the inappropriate machinations of his imagination, and seized up with a fury while desperately trying to keep his cool here in Magnolia. A split second later, he realized he couldn’t contain his temper and almost broke his body in half with a ridiculous spin.

YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH, WOMAN! I WILL GAWK ALL GODDAMN DAY AND NIGHT IF I FUCKING FEEL LIKE IT!” he screamed in anger at the two and for all to hear then calmed his shit, like, quick and in a hurry as some passers-by stopped to stare. He should have felt shame but didn’t, instead, only feeling a strong pang of something akin to murderous intent at the girl in white.

Rei and Retsu were kindred spirits in some respects; however, when it came to temperament, Retsu’s fuse was far shorter than Rei’s. While Rei tried to manipulate and use emotion to his advantage, Retsu just lost his mind and raged rampant until he made his point or received what he wanted. That was most certainly the case in this situation, no doubt, but Retsu also knew that when his temper flared, Rei would take extreme measures to counter the… for lack of better terms, ‘bitch fit’, and subdue him by any means necessary. The chain of events to happen next were left to be told and Retsu was just seething with hatred at the end of his outburst.

Verba volant, scripta manent.

The man had been observing the boy and girl speaking by the large oak tree when he felt the bench start to collapse. Well, it was less of a start and more of an instantaneous action. Almost instinctively Leonidas stood up from the bench, and fast. At the same time he grabbed the hilt of Calamitas with his right hand and clutched the scabbard with his left. However, while doing this a piece of wood from the bench nicked his left forearm, darker than normal blood splattering his slightly dusty white shirt. Scanning the crowd for a second with his sword drawn far enough to reveal the wrappings on it, Leonidas identified two other persons of interest. One, the elder of the two boys that he had noted earlier, and the other a rather odd-looking girl with charred arms laced with violet scars of some sort. He assumed the black-haired, red-eyed boy was the one that had destroyed the bench. Sighing, he sheathed Calamitas, placing the sword back on his belt. It was at that moment that he noticed the fact that he had been injured, seeing the blood and acknowledging the dull, throbbing of pain.

"Damn it, and in public too," he muttered, silently hoping that no one saw his injury. Lots of people had seen the bench be destroyed. He hoped not as many would notice the unusually dark color of the blood currently dripping from his body.

Thank goodness for the tall boy's outburst that took the attention of the public off of the crimson-eyed man, or at least for the moment. Of course, he had heard the girl near the tree point out all the people of notice before the boy burst out, which if Leonidas was counting correctly was three. He had no intention of approaching her, but instead walked towards the tall boy that was currently raging at some odd thing or another. Perhaps that was not the best of ideas, but Leonidas was a bit angry that the boy had disrupted his pleasant people-watching. Actually, he was more than a bit angry, but the blonde-haired man's face showed none of it. Instead, he stopped about 5 feet away from the boy, looking up at him.

"I'm afraid you might have to pay for that bench over there," he stated, pointing at the bench behind him with his bloodied arm. The injury itself wasn't bad, the mess was. Eh, at that point Leonidas was past caring. He'd be departing Magnolia soon anyways. Still, sometimes he wished that he could just sit down and enjoy life, not worrying about the things the man had to hide on a day to day basis.

What's The Point

VI blinked.

The broodmother felt yet another pair of eyes - one of the teenagers, it seemed - shift to observe her form. Between the hundreds of different reactions she had experienced from Fioran citizens, VI had picked up on a number of trends and tendencies amongst different groups. With teenagers, mages, and young adults, it was not uncommon for them to express, alongside the typical fear and envy, a great deal of fascination with her body. An irritating amount of people saw fit to burden her with vapid questions about her bodily functions, while some - typically the lab coat-wearing type - simply expressed an unsettling, almost-fetishizing infatuation with her. Called her beautiful, even, though VI knew it was not meant in the conventional sense. She was not so naive as to put her faith in such meaningless attempts for validation.

The stare the boy gave the broodmother was clearly of such motivations. It went ignored still; VI had neither the time nor the patience to humor the whims of overgrown children. The anomalous scent in the air was unmistakable, too - she would not have been surprised if there were at least two magic users within the park, with the volume of power she sensed. All the more reason for her to be on her way; the woman had no intention of dealing with magical kids. Young mages were exceptionally more of a pain in the arse to deal with.

The rationale behind this was the same as the rationale behind a bite from a young snake being more dangerous than that of a grown one; whereas an adult snake knows that it does not need to inject its entire venom supply, a young snake will simply empty its entire sac into the victim. The same went for those with anomalous abilities; experienced, adult magic users had the maturity to not abuse their abilities, or make rash, spur-of-the-moment decisions when using them.

Children and teenagers, on the other hand, lacked self-awareness by principle. They were immature, impulsive, emotionally-unstable, impressionable, and above all, were so narcissistic that they truly believed themselves to be above the aforementioned descriptors - all of which were entirely non-conducive to responsible magic use. On top of this, anomalous abilities tended to exacerbate these traits; give a 16-year-old the ability to control fire, and you would be a fool to not expect the house to burn down.

Alas, all hope of dodging the bullet that was interacting with these people was lost when VI became suddenly aware of a pair of wooden table legs sailing directly towards her at an alarming speed. The woman neither flinched nor so much as made an attempt to dodge the makeshift projectiles. In fact, she simply stood in place and watched as the table legs smashed directly into her chest and left shoulder. Rather than injuring her, however, they simply splintered apart into thousands of fragments as they hit the albino woman's body, much like arrows splintering on plate armor, without so much as leaving a mark where they had hit her.

Any impact velocity the table legs may have had was entirely lost upon hitting VI's body as well; she took the full brunt of the attack without being losing a centimeter of ground. Indeed, the broodmother only turned her head upon hearing the male begin to screech wildly at the other girl. She sighed to herself. Looked like she was gonna be roped up into this situation regardless. She wasn't the only one, either; some other park-goer had decided to stroll on in and give his entirely unhelpful two cents as well.

"One a' you wee cunts, tell me which one a' you threw that at me." The woman's voice was flat, yet not without venom. "Now."

The poor boy.

Vivian had to wonder if there was something quite wrong with the oversized child in front of her as he clapped away enthusiastically. That she herself wasn't exactly normal was an irony that didn't escape her, but the main difference was that she knew her own innocent had long since departed and had no way of confirming that for Rei. For a moment she wore a distant expression on her face as she struggled with dormant emotions before smothering them with a metaphorical pillow until they stopped twitching.

"Nuts? What do you take me for some kind of squirrel? I'll have you know, yes I would love some what type are they?" Starting off looking rather offended Vivian's seemingly mercurial personality shifted as it saw fit until she was smiling again. Nuts always made for a tasty snack, the best kinds of course being roasted and perhaps glazed with something natural like honey. Mmm... honey.

Patting Rei's head Vivian smiled softly. "Of course you're good enough sweetheart, but we can't forget about the other people around us. Like that man over there, he looks hurt. Do you want to come with me?" Letting him touch her hand she actually took hold of his and gave it a gentle tug to lead him towards Leo. The other man didn't really look all that injured but she felt like she had to make sure what with the trickle of blood that seemed to be present. Of all the days to not bring the wasp... nothing she could do about it now.

As she approached him and Retsu she blatantly ignored the latter. There was something about him that made her more uncomfortable that it should have, even considering he was clearly slightly deranged. Instead she held up one finger for Rei in a sign that clearly was asking him to be patient with her for just a moment before turning back to Leo. "Are you alright? I'm a medic, I'd like to take a look just to make sure nothing's wrong if that's ok." Hoping she wasn't being too pushy she wanted to wait for permission before moving any closer. Everyone here looked so young she was in full mother hen mode which lead to her actually showing her serious side for once.

Looking over at VI as she spoke crassly Vivian couldn't see anything immediately concerning. Plus with how the wood had simply shattered like it was made of paper mache she very much suspected this wasn't an ordinary girl. She opened her mouth to say something to the effect of "you're ok, don't make a fuss I'll take a look in a moment" but what came out was entirely not expected.

"Totty quine dry yer eyes. Ah didnae see what hit ya but ya ain't panned. Be tricket wie at."

The look of confusion on Vivian's face was coloured with a light blush as she stared in a mixture of horror and disbelief at VI. After a few moments of silence she managed to mumble out a few words.

"Oh, that's new."
