Fredrik just had to visit Magnolia. It hadn't mattered whether he was in his own home town of Coreopsis or on the road, he'd hear stories of the hometown of Fairy Tail. It was a highly destructive guild that the council of magic hated, not that they seemed to mind. That's the most that he'd ever learned, back in the days that he thought all mages could only be bad. The young man stopped at the side of a waterway. A small paddle boat made its way by, and he tracked it idly with his golden gaze. It was nowhere near the same, but in a way, the sight had brought on a wave of homesickness. Destructive guild, waterways... He looked around where he was- not too far from that point there was a bunch of shops and eateries. It was bright and full of smiling people going on their day to day business. A healthy commerce... There was a big difference though. Ever since he had started traveling, he'd been hearing as many good stories about Fairy Tail as he had heard of the bad. Unlike with the dark guild he'd been living with for 16 years, there were those who were grateful to Fairy Tail. Children even looked up to them, and it seemed like they were always out to do a good deed. With a slight pang, he wondered why he couldn't have grown up here instead. But before he could get any more depressive, another pang hit him. A pang of hunger. Normally he might have camped in the nearby forest to save some money, but as luck would have it, he had lost his supplies (again). He still had money though. He grinned a bit. There was nothing quite like a good solid meal and a warm bed to freshen up a traveller. SO, he walked into the business part of town and began to let the flow take over him. he was sure soon there would be a scent to follow him to a good place to spend his money. |

I don't even know.

Walking through the streets of Magnolia's business district, Fina held a sizable, purple book with various marking and symbols, seemingly of a supernatural or magical origin. After arriving in Magnolia the day previously and having a strange meeting with a man that was knowledgeable in spirits of a different kind she knew of, Fina had stayed the night at a hotel, using the jewels she had Ueru "borrow" from a civilian who seemed like they had money to spare, even pulling in enough for a new book. Though she hated having Ueru steal, she only targeted those who seemed like they would not be worse off without just abit of their money. Yet the expression of her face as she read the book was straight and neutral as always, if anything, she looked incredibly bored with every page flip. "I was right, wasn't I?" "Shut up Ueru." Fina only glared back at Ueru with her eyes, her head unmoving, yet Ueru's street smarts had been right, unfortunately. While the shop keeper emphasized it was one of the most highly acclaimed books for spirits and the supernatural, Ueru had picked up on the fact they were trying to scam her, and she bought the book for nearly all of her remaining jewels. Nearly everything in the book was basic, trivial knowledge, random superstitions that were above an expert "Spirit Specialist," and straight up un-sourced nonsense. Floating behind Fina's shoulder, Ueru took a peak at the book as a snide smile crossed his face. "That's priceless! Hey Fina, how about you try throwing salt at me? The book seems to say that will work! BAWHAHAHAHAWAW!" "Ueru. Shut it. You telling me not to buy it is the main reason I did." "And that's your fault for not listening to the 'Great Ueru-Sama!'" "I'm trying to find a way to reseal you, I have no reason to trust you, and I don't." "Good! Because if you weren't the only thing keeping me out of that seal, I'd tear you apart with my bare tee-!" Thwack! "ACKGHHH!" Without even looking away from the book, Fina took the Ofuda tag from her side and smacked it upon Ueru, sending them crashing down hard into the streets below, getting the gawking and looks at the strange duo, Fina's expression unchanging entirely as she floored Ueru. Cold. As. Ice. Rubbing her temples with a slight headache, Fina shook her head. "What I'd give for a single day of quiet...Come on Ueru." Crouching down briefly, Fina took Ueru in a single hand, carrying them by the top of their head. At least Ueru's ghostly body was conveniently light and easy to carry. Feeling a light sensation of hunger set in, Fina set out to find some lunch, and hope she could find a place that was cheap enough to afford, or at least another mark for Ueru to pick pocket, though with the state he was in, that wouldn't be likely for awhile.
