Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Sometimes observation was a necessary evil for Emily Winter. While it appeared that she was lacking in the necessary patience to actually wait for anything, in fact, she was quite capable of biding her time when the target was worth it. She’d been watching the knight calling himself Sol for several weeks after she’d seen him rescue a young boy who was being bullied. He seemed to be the type who would perform almost any feat if it meant that he would help someone. He was, in other words, the perfect target for Emily’s manipulations. It was said that a particular key that opened a door to the realm of The Dreamer could be found in Poinsettia and the redheaded killer was absolutely convinced that Sol was the one to help her find it. She just had to engineer the situation that would bring him into her life.

The chance to engineer that situation came late one night as she was trailing Sol. A nasty pair of brutish looking men were lounging up against a wall and eyeing everyone as they passed, whistling at all of the women. A smile flashed across Emily’s androgynous features as she approached them but it had vanished before they could see it. Instead she stood front and centre and raised her voice.

“You disgusting pigs! I saw the way that you looked at me. How dare you stare at women like that? What’s wrong with you sick perverts!”

The two men glanced at each other, glared at her and smiled nastily.

“Well now that’s not a very nice thing to say ‘bout us, you little bitch. Maybe you just need a little taste of what we got huh? C’mon Artor, let’s show this little bitch what she’s missin’ “

The two men closed on her and she had to resist the urge to draw Blood’s Tear from its hidden sheath and carve out some of the more cherished bits of their anatomies. Instead she screamed as loudly as she could.

“Help! Help! I’m being attacked! Won’t somebody please help me!”

With any luck, this would cause Sol to come running to her aid, before she actually had to stab anyone.

Poinsettia is a gorgeous city, regardless of when you visit. The vibrant colors and architecture with nods not only to its exquisite masonry, but also the nods to its location within the Lavender forest that dances with the sunlight. The mysterious mist that creeps and billows in the overcast haze after a rain. Even at night, the light of shops, Inns, taverns, craftsmen and guilds dance between the flicker of fragile frame and the piercing gaze of electric or magic fixtures.

Tonight’s spectacle was simply a bonus however, as Sol sauntered his way towards one of his favorite restaurants. Well, not actually a restaurant, but the home of a Poinsettian chef he had the pleasure of meeting in Hargeon. The chef was conducting business with one of the fish mongers; sol wanted to buy some fish for dinner. ’I should probably pick up some white wine on the way’ he thought to himself.

Sol’s eyes have always had the habit of wondering when he walked, taking in as much as he can. Never wanting to miss a moment of life around him. One thing he had noticed recently was a reoccurring face – a young woman - that just so happened to always keep herself on the corner of his vision and never for too long; he had just caught a glimpse of her again walking by a few seedier fellows.

While he had planned to brush off her presence, as he had before, his head snapped when his ears caught her voice for the first time, reprimanding the seedy characters she passed for being lecherous. “smells like trouble” he turned and made his way towards the conflict, making an effort to act as an uncaring bystander to not draw attention to himself. As he drew closer he reached for a flash attachment for his camera, attached it, removed the lens cover and prepped it for when he was in the right moment.

FLASH

Light erupted from the flash attachment of Sol’s camera as he took a picture of the scene between the young woman and the lecherous thugs.

“Ooh!” he exclaimed, “That was really good guys, great weapon positioning too. Poinsettia police are really going to like one I think. Do you think I could get a front-facing one too?” Sol’s face looked to be beaming like someone who just successfully cast a big spell for the first time. Surely a façade, but no one needed to know that.

“W-what the hell?!” the thugs “What do you think you’re doing kid?” The men sounded less than on-board. One of them boldly attempted to grab at Sol’s camera. To which he responded with a deliberate hop backwards. Visibly angered both men changed their target from the young woman to Sol “stay there, bitch, we’re not done with you.” They barked before each drawing a weapon and attacking Sol; who carefully dodged, staying just out of reach of the men while pulling them away.

After a moment, Sol was able to dip around a building corner away from the woman’s view, and once the men had followed. Sol’s demeanor changed completely in an instant when he allowed the smaller of the two thugs lunged at him wielding brass knuckles. Sol parried by pivoting to the side taking grip of the man’s wrist with his right hand and hammer fisting his left into his sternum. The blow causing the man to fold to the ground.

The larger of the two – though not by much - had a dagger, and seeing what Sol had just done only egged his blood lust. Not wanting to get caught in the same counter, he came at Sol with a wild stab. Without hesitation, Sol steps into the attack, blocking the thug’s blade arm with his own forearm, his other hand grips at the thugs throat and digs in. Using his forward momentum Sol pivots a leg behind the thugs and pushes him to the ground, following with his own force un he’s on one knee and the thug’s head slams against the ground, knocking him unconscious.

After a deep breath, Sol stands, brushes himself off and walks back from around the corner, as if nothing happened, and check to see if his mysterious young woman is still there.

A jagged smile spread across Emily’s features as she watched the scene unfold. There was something pleasurable about watching a good fighter take down his enemies. Of course, the redhead would’ve preferred more blood being shed but this Sol seemed like one of those annoyingly honourable men who did only as much harm as necessary.

Even still, it was exciting to see the ease with which he deflected these attacks. She’d also been impressed by the contraption that he was carrying and wanted to find out more about it. It was something called a camera as far as she remembered, but the details were foggy. She decided it was time to adopt a more shocked, scared expression as Sol came back around the corner. Like a chameleon, her features transformed into a mask of worry and fear, draining of colour and energy. She walked up to Sol, wide eyed and scared looking, her voice soft.

“Thank you sir! I don’t know what I would have done without you. I was sure those men were going to do something awful to me. How can I thank you? It’s so rare that anyone stops to help these days. I’m lucky it was you who came to the rescue!”

It was lucky for the crimson-haired murderess that her black dagger was well concealed in a secret pocket of her traveling cloak. She wanted to ensure that the image of her as a fairly defenseless young woman remained intact for some time yet. She was beginning to consider which one of her schemes she could include Sol in and how he might prove a useful asset. It was an interesting situation to be in and one that she was pleased to have generated.

Sol, walking back towards the young woman, saw the visible changes in her expression from that of intrigue to that of frightened and thought it more interesting than strange. He expected her to be a little more agitated or ill-tempered, since he had taken the fight that she had instigated from her. Regardless, he made a mental note.

He gave a warm, toothy, smile towards the girl when she thanked him. “Is it really?” he probed. “And I was so sure you were expecting it, provoking them like that.” He was clearly teasing her letting out a light-hearted chuckle. “But I suppose you could thank me, by letting me accompany you to your destination, hm?”

So far her plan seemed to be going off without a hitch, but Emily was always careful. She decided to keep playing along with Sol until such time as it seemed prudent to do something else. In this case, it would probably be fading away because he seemed like too much of a good fighter to tangle with. For now, however, she was going to have some fun!

A brilliant smile illuminated her features and she clapped her hands together in a most un-Emily like way as she looked up at Sol. She seemed to radiate warmth from every pore and her voice was equally warm.

“Well you know, sometimes you just end up provoking people. I’d be so glad for the company! We can have fun along the way I’m sure. By the way, what’s your name? Mine’s Emily!”

As she swept her gaze over Sol, she tried to assess him but it would probably be best to talk with him for a while before making any judgements. Instead she pointed the way down the road.

“I was heading back to my inn. I’m just traveling through town. Are you local here or are you a traveler too?”

“That’s fair…” Sol replied, half in thought. He smiled when she mentioned she’d be glad to have his company, but couldn’t help to breath a nervous chuckle when she mentioned being able to have fun. Considering her actions so far, he wasn’t exactly sure what to make of what her idea of ‘fun’ would be. Nevertheless he gladly introduced himself. “My name is Sol. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Emily.”

When Emily pointed towards the way of her destination of the evening, he noted that it wasn’t that far from where he was originally heading. ’has she eaten yet? Hmm, no point in being hasty’

“Yes, I’m… passing through, as it were.” He answered. “Though, it’d be a little more accurate to say that I’m wondering the country. Experiencing it, and taking pictures along the way.” His gaze drifted upward towards the night’s sky. He smiled, and softly sighed. “Truth be told…” He continued “When I started, I was searching for something; something to connect me, a place to belong. I suppose I lost focus along the way so I’m just taking things day by day until something happens.” His smile had faded slowly over the time of his explanation. After he stopped his eyes widened and his smile appeared again. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to burden you with my thoughts.

Emily liked where this was going. Sol was leaving her with many opportunities to try and exploit his good nature, so she would naturally have to respond and do her best not to let him down. There was no point in having such a helpful target if one didn’t take advantage of it. She let her expression mirror his own as she replied.

“I feel the same way, Sol. I had to leave home when I was a small girl and I’ve been trying to find my way around the world ever since. I want to find a place like you do that I can call home and feel a connection to but so far I haven’t found it.”

She brightened after this and gave her new found companion a smile before she added, “Let’s not dwell on gloomy things, shall we? I’m actually feeling pretty famished after the stress of that situation. Should we find something to eat? I could use a good meal. Maybe you know somewhere good!”

As she waited for his response, she began to wonder what use that camera of Sol’s might be to her. She wondered what advantages it could confer on her and how she might get Sol to help with that process. It was now just a matter of leveraging the situation to her advantage and that was a great pleasure for her. Nothing beat trying to find an advantage by using someone else to get it.

Sol noted his earlier mental notes on Emily's behavior. It was as if she was adapting the situation as needed. He wasn't ignorant to this tactic when serving guests at his family's Inn. Though, recognizing it being used on him in this situation was unnerving, considering that she may have an ulterior motive. He was confident, however, in his ability to handle any confrontation should it arise.

Her mentioning of a meal was also timely, but noting that they were heading towards a tavern, he assumed that the anticipation of getting a meal was on her mind, heightening her hunger.

“I have an acquaintance I was on my way to have a meal with” he said before pausing, throwing an askance look to Emily. “Though thanks to a certain someone, I’m a little late meeting with him.” He chuckled. “He's a bit crass, but I'm sure he's made more than enough for the three of us.”

Emily shrugged, recovered and smiled at Sol. It wasn't as if she had anywhere to go. Besides his acquaintance might be interesting, so she was quite happy with getting to meet him or her. She decided to be amiable about all of this and made a sweeping forward gesture.

"Well lead the way then! Let's go meet this acquaintance of yours. I'm always up for meeting new people. We don't learn anything unless we do that right?"

There were always details, always secrets and always angles. Emily was an expert at exploiting and playing all of those angles. Now she was at the start of a new game and one of the first things necessary at the start of a new game was to understand how all of the pieces interacted on the board. Sol and his friend were just more pawns on her game board and she was going to see if she couldn't maneuver them to her advantage.

Big apologies. Should have done this since January, yes, but it slipped under my radar.

MoonlitRain: 1 SP, 270,000 Jewels
Corgi: 200,000 Jewels

I don't think Sol was really supposed to notice Emily's emotion changes and pretenses. That kind of takes the deception out of things, no?

And the posts are kind of short...
