Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

There were some days where you just had to sit back, ignore your surroundings, and wonder how you got to where you are now. Mistakes had been made today, that was certain. To be fair, perhaps there were people who enjoyed sitting in the back of an abandoned Cathedral, people shuffling around them, and a bag over their head and ropes around their arms. Hey, it wasn't Learme's place to judge. He totally would judge anyway, but it wasn't technically his place to judge. His mind wandered back a bit, to earlier that evening when this had started.

He had been walking down the street of Poinsetta, hood up and pack on his back, when a slightly overweight man had waved at him in the darkness. "Sir! Please help! This way!" Shrugging, he had turned the corner, mentally sighing at what was probably going to be something moronic, and had found himself hit over the head with a sack of potatoes. Really ineffectively, too. Granted, it DID knock him off his feet, but he was still pretty much fine. He was wearing the Heaven's Fall Robes, after all. A sack of potatoes awkwardly lobbed by some clown wasn't going to do a whole lot.

He would have stood back up, but the muttered conversation had caught his interest. He had caught 'Ritual", "Tonight" , and "All according to plan." Normally, he would be worried. However, given the utterly pedestrian and ineffective method of attempting to knock him out, he wasn't overly scared. Still, maybe they had something genuinely interesting happening. Might as well watch. After they removed his backpack, tied his arms to his sides, and carted him off, he had been somewhat disheartened. Really? It was a terrible set of knotwork. At least the bag was somewhat competent.

So, here he was, sitting against the wall. There was stuff going on outside, which he could partially see through a small hole in the sack. The ritual prep was beginning, and it was... interesting, to say the least. So far, the ritual participants appeared to be a bunch of oafish looking peasants, their robes looked like dyed sackcloth, and he was pretty sure that the dagger they had begun using to drip wax on the floor was made from a sharpened shovel. Maybe it was a grave-digger's shovel, though. That would at least be somewhat ominous. Leaning back against the wall, he turned his head, just catching the sight of someone next to him. "So.... you find this as utterly buffonish as I do?" He muttered. "Learme Melchance. Thoroughly unimpressed Mage. You?"

Willow sat there, staring out her very see through potato bag as these kids did whatever it was they were doing. There were lights, candles, a book of some kind maybe, and a bunch of other things going around. The knots around her wrists and ankles were laughable. Back home, if any of her four...well now three...siblings had seen the kind of work these people had done they would just sit there laughing their heads off. Maybe Jasmine might have fallen off her chair completely. Growing up sailor kids you learn a thing or two about knots. And let me tell you, these were nothing.

As the brunette woman sat there, deciding whether or not to even bother undoing the ties or not, she sighed and closed her eyes. The events that had lead up to this moment were also something her older brother and sisters would laugh about. Mizumi most certainly would never let her down if she had caught wind of this slip up. It was more so she was stunned by the fact she had even allowed herself to let this happen. One second she had been walking down the street, minding her own business, and the next, three guys jump her. The only reason she was even here in the first place was because they managed to hit her with the bag of potatoes the right way. And by right way I mean she fell and hit the side of a building when one blind sided her. She was still in a daze when she realized where she was by the time the lights came on.

So here she was, being brought to a shady place full of idiots. It was enough to get her blood boiling. How many times has it been now? Two? Two times she had been kidnapped. Once to play a sick game with Mago, Lilly and Fukumura where they had to kill people in order to survive. Lilly did not make it out of those sewers. But this time? This time idiots had kidnapped her and brought her to this place. Was she really that easy to kidnap? That was it. The next time someone had decided they wanted to kidnap her, she would find them and she would murder them. She wasn't some damsel in distress.

The person siting next to her spoke, getting her attention. Turning her head, Willow replied. "Willow Heart... and yes. I have half a mind to just get up and walk away." She turned her attention back to what was going on. It seemed as if these hooded men were setting up for something. It looked like some kind of demonic ritual, but with these men? Maybe they were botching it up and all that was going to happen was a sad event. "So...how did you end up here? Did you get hit by a sack of potatoes as well? Or did you hit your head on something? I could imagine these idiots picking up drunks easily." Drunks would be the prefect target for them. Who as going to resist them if they offered more boozes?

The response was quite matter-a-fact as well. It seemed his compatriot wasn't really impressed with these clowns either. "Willow Heart, hmm? Nice to meet you. Heh, not that far off from my Guild." Normally, he wouldn't just reveal his guild affiliations, but given the location, context, and disdain she was showing for their craft, he suspected she might be in a similar boat. Besides, if they had gotten one Dark Guild mage, what was to say they hadn't gotten a second? Of course, it could just be someone from Lamia Scale, but oh well. One of the robed figures nearly fumbled a jar. It appeared, if the half of the label he could see was accurate, to contain Walrus blood. That was... entertainingly confusing, if a bit sad. He liked Walruses, honestly. They were rather funny-looking. Hopefully it was ethically harvested walrus blood, if only so as not to be wasteful.

Shrugging slightly, he eyed the group. "I was hit by the potatoes, really badly. Was going to stand up and knock some sense into those clowns, but then I heard something about a ritual." He huffed. "I was overhyped." Indeed, it was seeming more and more like the group of imbeciles around them had just flat-out no proper idea of spellcraft. This was more like a variety show of what people believed dark magic was supposed to be about. He winced as one of them began carving a rune in the floor, backwards. Oh, this was just painful to watch. He had to chuckle at the two people going carefully through the list of posted steps at the same time, though not noticing the other one was doing the same thing.

When the leader-looking figure picked up the tome, and held it upside down, he had had just about enough. "Right, that's it, I can't take it anymore. You lot have no idea what you're doing." Learme stood up, rope having been untied for several minutes now, and pulled the bag off his head. Marching over, he slapped the tome out of the man's hands, grabbing it and spinning it right-way up. "You, go move that back, you don't have enough room for the circle. That is NOT 3 meters. How do you think all of you are going to fit around that." Gesturing to the pair setting up candles, he rolled his eyes. "Really? Scented candles? You couldn't find actual ones? Normal candles were more difficult to locate than ones that smell like cinnamon?" Looking at the book he was holding, he whistled. "Damn. You nearly bungled this PROPER."

The stories had matched up at the very least. They were consistent on the whole hitting people over the head with sack of potatoes. But this man had decided that he wanted to willingly come here because it might have sounded interesting? There was something very wrong with this man. Or maybe it was just the type of company Willow was going to be around due to her rather shady business as well. Regardless, she was floored when he said that and even more so when the man stood up and began helping these... well whatever they were with their little ritual. What kind of individual would do such a thing?

That was it. Willow had enough of this. Taking the rope off of herself, she stood up and held her hand out in the 'like really' gesture. "So after freeing yourself from the terrible bonds they put us in, you come over here and start helping them with whatever they are trying to pretend to do." This was a bit too much, even for her. Was everyone here just complete idiots? Walrus blood and that knife? Did they not know what a knife looked like? No. She was not going to get evolved in this idiocracy of a ritual.

Turning to the man in charge as well, the Exquip mage had come to realize that what was before her were in fact complete dumbfucks who needed one of their captives to actually show them how it was done. And somehow, through all of this, Willow found herself almost wanting to help. No. She wasn't that stupid. But, if it came down to either killing all of these people because they summoned the wrong thing or helped them summon what they thought was the right thing but just a little butterfly, she'd rather deal with the butterfly. "So, before I leave...and before that one cuts himself with a knife by accident....what are you attempting to conjure up?"

As the young mage of Grimoire Heart directed two of the cultists to scrub off the half-started circle and start again, it seemed Willow had finally had enough of this nonsense. She stood up, and gestured at him in disbelief. "Well, yes. It was just sad, to be honest. I couldn't help it. Besides, I'm here anyway, and I'm a bit curious what the end result is. Plus, well." He coughed, looking to the side, then said in a stage whisper "Looking at this lot, they might summon something actually worrisome by accident and have no control over it. Implausible, but I'd rather see this done right. It's clowns like this who give mages a bad name." One of the cultists, realising he was being mocked, stood up angrily. "Hey! We followed the translation! Don't mock u-" He melted slightly under the withering gaze Learme was sending his way.

"Really? You followed the translation? Who the hell translated this for you? It's just a weird method of writing the letters. Half the things you have here aren't even on the list. Did you just think 'hey, what sort of things seem dark and brooding' and bring them all just in case?" He looked at the page again. "... This clearly says 'Lillies comma blood', not 'Walrus Blood." Sighing, he rubbed his nose. Now he was getting frustrated. "This doesn't even seem to list sacrifices, why did you grab... us..."

Pausing, he narrowed his eyes, the green orbs flicking back and forth rapidly as he read the rest of the information before him. A second later, he looked up. "Well, well. According to this, the end goal of the ritual is to summon a shade of the dead. Apparently, it can last longer if it possesses a human body, but cannot leave the circle. Normally, you'd have the mage bend it to it's will... but none of you wanted to risk that, did you?" He chuckled, upper face overshadowed a bit as he looked around the room. A few of the cultists had begun to dimly pick up on the fact that the man who had gotten out of their knots, started directing them, and was talking about necromancy in a decidedly casual tone was perhaps a bit more unhinged than they had been expecting.

So he was attempting to make sure they didn't just randomly summon something that they couldn't handle. Well, at the very least he was being responsible for their actions. It was more than he should have done... But if a child was going to play with something dangerous regardless of how many warnings you have given them, you might as well let them play with the fire so to say. And in this case, it was the dark arts with a note of some kind of necromancy spice to it. The way Learme had talked about it so casually, he himself must have dabbled in this section of the dark arts. To each their own, but keep Willow out of it.

Again, she was debating whether or not to go ahead and just leave the area now that they knew she could easily walk away or to just stand by and watch. Being associated with a dark guild like herself, she didn't care what happened to them all here by that standard. But if we were really going to boil down to the finer point that made Willow Heart, we would understand that she was only in her dark guild because it was easier to find information and if needed, to kill without problem. So, what I'm trying to get here is the fact that part of her wanted to walk away because she didn't care enough about this situation, but she cared enough to make sure these idiots didn't find themselves in a situation that was going to kill them. Learme said it was okay, but the second one of these did something wrong, it could mean something totally different.

Her last straw came from the three stogies attempting to make another circle after being told it was wrong. Could they not create a good enough circle? No. She knew the answer and the answer was going to be no. So taking the initiative, Willow took the last of the walrus blood and began fixing this circle before it turned into a four leaf circle some how. She wouldn't put it past them.

Once she was done, she looked over at potatoe sacked victim number one. "Circle Is done, now what? Do we need to have some kind of salt?" She thought she had read somewhere that ghosts didn't like salt. Or maybe that was a weird myth that she had picked up somewhere. Regardless, she waited for further instructions on what to do as Learme seemed to understand what was going on and what still needed to get done for this to work.

As he examined the book further, Willow went over and began drawing the circle. It was really kind of incredible how much blood had been wasted drawing it the first two times. Then again, he wasn't entirely certain their nervous systems actually connected to the majority of their brain. He was currently working on a theory that these people were functioning through some sort of pseudo-brain, one that allowed them to function in a limited manner. The other idea was that perhaps someone had transformed a large quantity of livestock into human shape, but kept their mental capacity.

The man opened his mouth, then coughed hard as Learme planted a bundle of sackcloth in it. "Shush. Is someone getting lilies? Someone better be getting the lilies." The man glared at the Archive mage, but managed to get out the words as he spit out the sackcloth. "Y-yeah, Chauncy is a florist, 'e's gettin' 'em." Wincing at the man's diction, Learme sighed, and nodded. "Great. So, circle, lilies are coming, got the people, focus?" He looked up. One of the people held up a burial shroud enthusiastically. "Oh, you got something right! Good job!" Not taking the time to see if they figured out that was condescending, his nose buried itself back in the book. "Right, then if that's the case, we just need to get that in the middle, on that symbol you've drawn- nice job by the way - and light candles around the edges."

One of the cloaked buffoons started to pick up the scented candle, and Learme stared at him. "Go look in the back room for candles, you twit. Scented candles? Really?" Looking hurt, and increasingly frustrated at Learme's off-handed dismissal of them, he hurried off, returning a second later from the back room looking abashed with an armful of candles. "See? Was that so hard?" As he directed the placement of the candles around the circle, he looked over at Willow. "Do you want to participate, or just watch? Got enough blokes to light all the candles at once, that's really the big bit now."

The circle had been made and now everything was starting to fall into place. The people who were meant to go and bring out candles had managed, for once, to find some actual unscented candles and place them around the circle. Well, that seemed like a good start. How did these people even managed to get by without falling and failing? Again, she was starting to think that maybe she should just walk away. These type of people were the very thing that pained her to begin with so....why was she here? Was it really worth it to just sit back and let them do their thing?

Before she could decide to walk away again, Learme spoke, saying that there was enough candles around for everyone to light it. She sighed as she looked around. Some of the men seemed irked and irritated that he was commanding. Maybe they even thought that if they offed him, they could finally prove to him that they weren't just useless. Well, to be fair, that would be useless. The fact that they would even kill him to prove that fact was ludicrous. First off, she wouldn't allow them to do so. Second off, she was pretty damn sure he wouldn't allow them to get that far. And third, did they understand that they were at the disadvantage with the power struggle? And if they did realize that, were they attempting to bank on what they summoned to take the power back? Another reason to just stick around and find out.

"Yeah, I'll help you with lighting the candle."

Willow got into her position and waited for the orders. Listening to whatever it was that was needing to be said, she counted the seconds until this speech or whatever was over. Once they were all ready to go ahead with the lighting, Willow lit her candle and watched as whatever was to unfold unfold. If there was some kind of big bad monster that needed slaying, then she would take out her weapons and start killing it. It if was a failure, then that was even better. Then she could go on her way and not ever worry about these people again. Ever.

This was all starting to give her a headache.

As the candles were put into place, a man in a robe came hurrying in. "I got the lilies!" Taking them from him, Learme put them in the centre, and moved back out of the circle. "Right, got that squared away. Think that's everything." From behind him, a voice came. "Not quite. We still need to decide one thing." His eyebrows flat-lining, Learme sighed and fiddled inside his robe, looking over at Willow and shaking his head. Good god, if he had actually just done this instead of announcing it, it might have worked. "One of us must be the vessel for the spirit. As thanks for your help... I believe you deserve the h-" The knife sliding out of his robe sleeve, the man paused as he saw Learme turn, a bored expression on his face and a very distinct shape in his hand. "God, you're a clown."

With a crack, the man fell backwards. His body landed in the middle of the circle... just a bit shy of the middle. "Dammit, that would have been perfect! Gah..." Learme sighed, and grabbed the body, dragging it another foot forward and into place. "Well, before anyone else decides to try anything funny, let's get this underway." The other cultists were looking more than a bit unsettled. Turning to Willow, he shook his head, holstering his pistol back under his arm. "I swear, I'm too nice sometimes. Would have been a favor to future generations to aim between his ears." There was a hacking cough from the middle of the circle, and a pained wheeze. A red spot was appearing on the man's lower robes. It seemed Learme had performed what was colloquially known as a "Kneecapping."

"Right, grab some matches, let's get going, I have places to be and I want to get this nonsense over with." He closed the book, putting it into his satchel. One of the cultist's mouthes started to open, and Learme's head snapped to focus on her, still grinning. Her mouth closed. Not enough backbone to keep a mouse standing up straight, these ones. The candles flickered to life, one by one, and a low droning hum escaped the circle. The ritual had begun. With a shudder, the knee-capped cultist seemed to feel something, but by this point, it was a bit too late.

Truth be told, Willow was about ready to kill the man who had just walked up to Learme. Her right hand was out and a sword, her Mani, appeared in her hand, ready to attack the man attempting to go forth and disrupt what was going on. However, her partner in crime, if you will, had already taken care of the situation at hand and popped a kneecap, forcing the man to fall upon the ground in the middle of the circle she had just created. So, this was why they needed a sacrifice? So the evil spirit or whatever could use the person's body at will? That was a bit creepy, but then again, if these people had actually done their job correctly, then Willow would have found this place VERY creepy.

And maybe a few bodies would be found upon the ground in the city.

It was now time to start lighting the candles. Taking a deep breath, Willow grabbed a match ad struck it. They had to all light it at the same time. Simple enough task as it was. but now, she wasn't so sure if it was. Her red eyes glanced from person to person, waiting to see what was going to happen. Was someone else going to jump out and attempt to attack them? Was someone going to go for her next? Well, she had a nice sword out now so maybe not her and Learme just shot someone so they knew he had a gun so maybe not him either. Were these people even really ready for the type of people that were standing in front of them? Maybe not.

Whatever. Not her problem. If she thought about it any longer she was going to implode. She had finally lit the candle and waited for whatever was to come to come. She watched the man in the middle of the circle carefully. Was she shaking? Was he scared? Should she be worried about him? Part of her was worried that something evil was going to come out. Maybe she should have donned some armor on instead of just calling forth one sword. Maybe that was a mistake. Oh well, she could handle just one sword at the moment. If worse came to worst, she would do what she needed to do in order to kill this man.
