Magnolia. Known for it's success as a center of trade, it was a stop on the route of many a trade company, supply shipment, and travelling merchant. Like many others of it's kind, the primary caravan of the steadily rising Banfield Trade Company was entering the towns east gate in order to do business. The caravan itself consisted of two wagons, one for merchandise and the other for food rations to be used by the crew. Along with these wagons, the crew itself consisted of three merchants, five guards, two drivers, and a most mysterious guide. The rather young man stood at over six feet tall, yet sported a somewhat slim build. His tattered charcoal coat left him an ominous look about him, leaving some to believe he was actually a guard himself. His grey, unkempt hair blew about in the wind as his the caravan made it's way to the gate. "Alright, let's get these wagons to the company post so they can be unloaded," one of the merchants said as they entered Magnolia. "Dmitry, you can go ahead and wait here like usual, just try not to get into any fights." Seemingly ignoring the man, Dmitry walked toward a nearby tree before climbing it, perching himself on a branch, leaning against the trunk and closing his eyes. The merchant simply shook his head at the odd choice of sleeping arrangements by their guide and moved on with the rest of the caravan, a few guards scoffing at Dmitry as they went by. It made no difference to him. He would likely never understand them, so why would he expect them to understand him? Despite their common employer, they were worlds apart in more ways than one. Not caring to think any more on the subject, Dmitry Kazakov allowed himself to drift into sleep in the middle of the day, in sunny Magnolia Town. |

Tsundere of Pink
|
That day nothing seemed to be going right in the mind of the pink haired female. But, then again nothing seemed to be going wrong either. The pink haired girl just seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. As she sat in the living room of her home she looked out the parlor windows and glared at everything that was outside. The sun, the clouds, the sky, and even the birds that flew past her window. It seemed to be just one of those days. Her pink hair was up in a messy bun that seemed to puff out, making it look bigger and messier than it usually would, but after it had been in her hair for more than a day and a half, this was expected. Small little tendrils of hair had escaped from the ponytail holder that was holding her hair up on top of her head and framed her pasted pink cheeks. She had not done her make-up yet today and seemed to be trying to prolong it as long as possible. It was one of those days. Dressed in a pair of grey baggy gypsy like sweatpants and a loose off the shoulder pink shirt the girl stood at the window with a cup of warm tea in her hands. I had been several months since she had woken up from the hospital and started living alone. Evia still didn’t really know what she was doing, but she was trying, listening often to her instinct on it telling her what she needed to be doing and how to do it. It was going well and she seemed to be fairing. But alas, as all good things, or bad things, have to come to a close it seemed as though up on checking the fridge to try to find a small snack, it was found empty. Blue citrine eyes narrowed as she girl slated the door to the fridge shut and marched down the hallway to the stair case and marched her way up it to the second floor, where her room resided. It took her about 15-20 minutes to get ready with make-up and dressed appropriately, however, that hair of hers was not touched. The ions main was going to be contained within those two hair ties that held it together. Grabbing her purse the girl grew it over her shoulder and opened the front door, leaving and closing it behind her. Next stop food. |

I don't even know.

"Grrrghhh..." In a drawn out, gravel-like tone, Ueru quietly growled as he followed Fina out of Magnolia's east side train station, a satchel hung over her left shoulder, and another new book tucked under her arm and pressed against her side. "When are we going to get lunch? This is taking way too long and I'm starving!" "It would have gone faster if you didn't get us kicked off the last train..." "All I did was chase that morsel I found!" "Then you missed, and we got kicked out." "Tsh! Not my fault that idiot got in my way...!" As a light breeze drifted through the sun lit town, Fina gently held the bridge of her nose, slowly moving her head side to side. "I don't even know why I bother trying..." Taking a deep breath and brushing aside afew stray blue strands of hair behind her ear, Fina attempted to steer the conversation back to possess some semblance of sanity, a commodity that was in short supply with Ueru around. "Anyway, we'll get something to eat in awhile. I want to see if they have anything at the library here." "But I'm hungry right "now!" The great Ueru-Sama will not be denie-!" "Ueru, down!" Finally reaching the limit of her patience, Serafina reached into her satchel, pulling out a sheet of durable fibers, imprints of various signs and seals of her family's traditional Ofuda style. Yet as she went to press it upon Ueru, Ueru's face twisted to one of fear, turning in a desperate attempt to dodge, (And failing) but both were caught by surprise at what happened next, a light growling resounding through the air. "...Damn it Ueru." All the talk of food and hunger seemed to be infectious, a realization Fina made as her own stomach growled. With a breath of reluctant resignation, Fina calmly pulled the Ofuda tag back into her satchel. "Alright, we'll compromise. I'll get something to eat, and then I'll help you find something as well, deal?" "Fine, fine, deal! But we're going to the graveyard so I can get a real meal for once. I'm tired of only finding tablescraps!" "Alright, that's fair I guess..." As the two began to search, they found themselves passing by what appeared to be a caravan unloading it's merchandise, though with bigger things on her mind to deal with, it wasn't something she particularly noticed at first either. Dmitry had been sleeping quite soundly until a presence woke him, his sixth sense causing his eyes to abruptly snap open. As what appeared to be a little girl walked by, he noticed something...odd trailing behind her, uttering something about food. It didn't take much thought to figure out which of the two was generating what he recognized as the familiar presence of a ghost and he pushed himself off the tree branch he sat upon, landing on his feet with a thud. However, as he landed, he felt something strange approaching. It was a presence he couldn't identify, so he decided to ignore it for now. "Hey, kid." He called after the girl, unaware of any potential doom in what he just said. "You know you're being followed, right?" Edited by Dmitry, Jan 14 2017, 09:45 AM.

"This is still taking too long..." "Well, "sooorrry." Not all of us can go without food forever, Ueru." Said in a heavily elongated, sarcastic tone, Fina let out quick sigh. "But I'm hungry nooow...!" "So am I, and I'm still looking for a place to eat." As the two bickered near the trade company's set up, a nearby voice chimed in, calling out for a kid. Yet, as Fina took note of very quickly, there were very little, if not, zero kids in the same vicinity and within earshot. Taking a quick turn towards the source of the voice, Dmitry, she realized they were talking to her, "immediately" causing her neutral, yet slightly grumpy expression to take a clear turn towards a scowl. Turning towards the man and crossing her arms over her chest, her angry scowl more noticeable then ever, she glared daggers back at Dimitry before speaking. "Alright, first off, I'm not a kid. I'm eighteen for your information." Her tone had an agitated, possibly even angry sound, yet the calmness in her voice downplayed this just a bit. "Secondly, I'm aware. No one can get rid of this eyesore, so I'm stuck with them." "I'll have you know that I'm "THE GREAT UERU-SAMA!" This brat just doesn't realize how important I am!" "Oh, shut up already..." "I'M THE GREAT UERU SAMA! I WON-" Smack! "AAAGHH!" CRASH! With a swift motion of practice, Fina took her Ofuda tag and placed it upon Ueru's forehead, sending them flying straight down into the ground! As Ueru's eyes seemingly spiraled as they remained in a crater with a dazed, blank look, Fina quickly snapped her head back to Dimitry in a cold, rather abrupt manner, downing the ghost with a scary sense of casualness. "Do you know any good places to eat in Magnolia, or which direction their graveyard is for that matter?" Eyes quickly shifting towards the ghost stuck in the ground, Fina's glare quickly shot back to Dimitry. "They cause alot of trouble when they are hungry, and I'm trying to avoid that headache..." For a moment, Fina brought her hand over her head, rubbing her temples in a circular motion, suddenly remembering the hotel they last stayed at when Ueru was hungry. Dmitry cocked his head to one side with a confused expression on his face, then looked down at himself. Perhaps he was older than he thought, as there was clearly a height difference. He then turned to the ghost, 'Ueru' as the girl called it. Whatever it was, the druid was certain he didn't like it. "Can't say as I know where the bathroom is, let alone anything else." He finally said with a shrug. "Haven't really had need to eat, so I-" At that moment, something akin to the sound of a grizzly bear roared out from Dmtiry's stomach, reminding him that he hadn't eaten in a while. "Maybe I should help you find something to eat..." He said, walking into town. After about thirty minutes of muttering, cursing, and aimless wandering, he came across a simple, family diner. "Yep, this oughta do." He said stepping inside. Having a minor understanding of restaurants, he walked straight through the counter and sat down. It wasn't long after that a blonde waitress behind the counter came up to him with a notepad. "Hi there! My name's Claire. Can I get you something to drink?" The young lady asked cheerfully. Dmitry's elegant response was limited to a simple nod. "Um...what would you like to drink?" She asked, somewhat cautiously. The gray-hair looked confused at her question, but decided to ignore the feeling. "Water?" He half stated, half asked. |

Fina's expression was neutral and plan, keeping her arms crossed, even as she had to "look upwards" in an attempt to meet the man eye to eye. As Dmitry cocked their side with a clueless look, Fina merely raised an eyebrow, her expression still as emotionless as usual. Well, other than the appearance of annoyance at least, not to say that she was. As Dmitry admitted he knew neither the location of neither a place to eat, or a graveyard, Fina let out a short, huffy sigh. Though, as a sudden roaring sound ripped through the air, Fina slightly turned her head, while mildly confused, it didn't show an inch on her face. "Alright, fine. You'll probably be able to find something faster than us anyway." After all, Dmitry seemed to be with a caravan, so they seemed to have traveled more than her, at least. Little did she know Dimitry's past with "less than average" contact to normal society, to say the least. Looking to Ueru with an annoyed glare, Fina crouched down with her knees, picking Ueru up with by the top of their head, their strange, ghostly body seemingly contorting to her grip as she stood up. "Uwahh..." Ueru's eyes merely seemed to spin as they gathered themselves, Fina dragging them along side her casually. "You can't really complain, you brought it upon yourself, after all." While incredibly cold to Ueru, as Dmitry observed, there could be reason for such considering his ghostly, ominous nature. And they were right to be suspicious, considering their sixth sense of spirits. Ueru was the bane of all deceased ghosts, dozens, perhaps even hundreds having lost their souls to the vile beast. Luckily for both of them, and everyone around, he was but a mere fragment of the monster he once was. As the two traveled around town, it took an astonishing thirty minutes to find a place to eat. Then again, considering Fina's sheltered life, Dmitry's backround, and the constant distraction of Fina and Ueru arguing, it was probably abit more understandable. Even distracted however, Fina noted Dimitry muttering slightly to themselves, though couldn't hear much in detail, even more so with Ueru yelling in her ear the entire time. Though, as Fina took a place at the counter, Dmitry simply walked past her to take a seat. Looking left to right, Fina noticed that seemly every other table was taken, other than the one Dmitry was about to take. "Excuse me, are there any open tables left?" "Oooh, I'm sorry miss, that gentleman over there just took the last open one. We can let you know when another table becomes open though.~" The brunette at the counter pointed as Dmitry took a seat, causing an audible groan from Fina. More socialization, great. "Thanks anyway, I guess..." Without another word, and a slight sarcasm in her tone towards the woman attending the counter, Fina waltzed over to Dmitry's table with Ueru in hand, taking a seat on the opposite side of the table, awkwardly taking a seat as she lightly tossed Ueru on the counter with a "plop." "I'll get some jasmine tea, no sugar." With a tone as neutral as her near unchanging expression, not even looking away from the menu she used to block the space between her and Dmitry, she quickly snapped the booklet closed, offering it to the waitress. "And I'll get Ume Onigiri, two orders, with Wasabi." Looking to the girl and her ghost with a mild look of apprehension, to both Ueru wandered about the restaurant for a bite to eat, the stoned faced, very grumpy looking kid, the waitress merely smiled and took the menu in a nervous fashion, leaving Dmitry abit more time to make their own order. "So, what's your deal, anyway?" Blunt and to the point, as always, Fina looked Dmitry dead in the eyes, (Or as best she could considering her height.) her mouth shifting to the side with a grumpy expression. "Most people don't care enough, or are too scared to get close to ask about Ueru. What is your interest in them anyway?" Perhaps abit suspicious, or presumptuous, but Fina had a good point as she looked at him with a serious glare, yet a voice calm and cold as ice. While she didn't really possess a spirit sense even close to Dmitry's, her family held a specialized linage in dealing with spirits, and just on instinct, Fina got these strange vibes from the seemingly clueless man. Dmitry barely noticed her gaze, looking about the diner with a lazy expression on his face as he dug a pinky-finger into his ear. "I got a kinda...thing with stuff like that," He said, retrieving his finger and wiping it off on his shirt. "What do folks call it, sixth sense?" As he asked this, he counted off on his fingers as if that would help him understand, before glancing back at the ghost. His expression soured a bit as he did so, the being confounding the medium. Whatever it was, there was something wrong with it. I felt somewhat like a poltergeist, yet somehow different. Still, it was similar enough to irritate him further; Dmitry hated poltergeists. "What in the hell is that thing, anyway?" He finally asked, not having paused out of awkwardness, but simply because he only just now cared to ask. "Whatever it is, spirits don't seem to like it. They're swirlin' around it like it's some kinda disease. Personally, it feels like a dead guy mixed...Well, I don't know what, but it's weird." Of course, he had no clue how that word sounded coming from him. It was around this time that the waitress came back around with their drinks, sporting a somewhat weary expression. "Have you decided on your order?" She asked politely, if somewhat hesitantly. Dmitry simply cocked his head again, his hetarochromatic eyes broadcasting confusion. "Um...what would you like to eat?" The gray mage simply blinked a few times. "Meat's fine." He said, as though it were a perfectly acceptable response. "W-what kind of meat?" The waitress almost pleaded, her face screaming 'What did I do to deserve this?' Of course, Dmitry was oblivious to such subtleties. "Any kind's good." He flatly stated, wondering why it would matter. "Um...okay, sure. I'll just get you some...meat." She then turned to the shorter of the two, clearly prepared to beg for some normalcy. "And what may I get you, miss?" |

Fina cocked her head to the side, squinting slightly as Dmitry explained he had a thing with "stuff like this," presumably spirits. Though, as he began to count on his fingers after mentioning a sixth sense, Fina's expression seemed less than amused, twisting into very slight scowl even compared to her regular demeanor, eyes squinting in a suspicious fashion. Was he really accounting the number of senses the human body had on his fingers? Not to mention she knew of at least fifteen different human senses due to her extensive reading, the idea of there being five senses a low grade introduction to the most well known ones. Yet and still, Fina understood the simile of it, as it was a widely used expression. Fina raised an eyebrow as Dmitry spoke straightly, not pausing out of the awkward moment, somewhat fascinated with the situation as Ueru floated close by to the table. Yet, though he mentioned spirits, Fina looked all around, seeing nothing but air and the restaurants patrons. "Really!? COME'ER! UERU-SAMA'S HUNGRY!" As soon as Dmitry mentioned spirits circling around him, Ueru began to lunge forward repeatedly, taking bites at the air around him, attempting to consume the spirits Dmitry mentioned. Their explanation of spirits seemed quite accurate for Ueru, considering he effectively a living bane to the natural order, but as Fina slowly shifted her head left to right, eyes firm and observant, she couldn't see a single ghost, other than Ueru biting at the air like an idiot. "Ueru, stop that. We're in public, and there's nothing there." Ueru kept on biting the air in an erratic fashion, ignoring her command, forcing Fina to slowly rub her temples in frustration. //Poor Ueru, they went mad from the hunger...// "Anyway, it's hard to explain bu-" As Fina attempted to answer Dmitry's question, she was interrupted by a waitress, asking Dmitry their order as Ueru chomped away, followed by her own. "What? I already told you, didn't I? Two Ume Onigiri's with wasabi and jasmine tea, what's so hard to understand? Oh, and if you spit in my food, you'll have to answer to Ueru." As Fina looked over to her ghostly summon, they had surprisingly stopped eating for some odd reason, their facial expression quivering, causing Fina's expression to twist in an odd fashion, unable to understand what was happening. "BWHAAAAAAAH!" Then, while invisible to the human eye, Ueru began to violently vomit out the nature spirits he consumed with such force they would be propelled out of his mouth for quite a distance. All the while, Fina looked with raising an eyebrow as Ueru made a heavy vomiting motion, yet, nothing left his mouth, realizing immediately something was wrong. Depending on Dmitry's connection to the spirits, the spirits consumed would understand just abit more after their short trip into Ueru's stomach. An endless void, one filled with the spirits of the dead, without hope or a chance at rebirth. This was the fate of those consumed by Ueru. Even if unable to translate this directly, the spirits Dmitry spoke of would at the least, probably have a sense of unrest. Yet and still, the spirits Dmitry knew of were quite different than the ones Ueru was used to, and they left his stomach unharmed, only leaving a violent whiplash in their wake upon Ueru. "Good lord...Just...get me my food..." As Ueru wretched with discomfort, constantly gagging as he vomited more, Fina took a small breath, like an sigh in reverse, gripping the bridge of her nose in discomfort, already feeling a headache coming on as she dismissed the waitress. Still, it was interesting though quite stressful. Ueru was supposed to consume all ghosts of the dead, "spirits" as a generic term, but while Fina originally thought nothing were there, Ueru seemed to come down with a massive case of food poisoning. Twitching and heaving for afew moments, Ueru fell atop the table on his side, eyes circling in a confused state, unconscious. With a calm, emotionless expression, Fina reached forward slowly, her hand passing right through Ueru's body. They were knocked straight out of the physical realm from whatever they ate, which brought more surprise to Fina, and validated Dmitry's claims of having a sense for spirits, though a different kind than she was used to. Now? She was intrigued. "Alright, what the hell? You're calling Ueru weird, but I've "never" seen them do that before. What kind of spirits are "you" talking about?" Her palm placing itself over her face calmly, Fina took a deep breath, realizing she was asking information about them, but hadn't addressed the question before hand. Quite uncouth. "Well, I'll answer your question first. Ueru's a ghost, one that eats other ghosts. He's really old, but my parents suck at book keeping so I really don't know how old either. It's...hard to explain." Taking a deep, long breath, Fina attempted to find a succinct way to explain why such a monster was accompanying her. "He doesn't look like it, but I heard he was incredibly dangerous at his prime, and couldn't be exorcised. My family found a way to seal him into a forced sleep, but the seal loses strength over time. When that happens, someone gets stuck with this ass until they can fix it. Great, right?" Fina huffed as she said this, a sharp tone of sarcasm in her voice as she referenced Ueru. Her ancestor ages ago could fight Ueru in his prime and win, her family used a complex set of magic symbols to seal away ghosts, and not "one" of them made a lasting record to "where Ueru" was sealed in the first place? One could only imagine how ticked Fina was when told she would need to do some research and only given afew scant details. Edited by SilverRush, Feb 1 2017, 09:23 AM.

As the girl explained the creature known as 'Ueru', the gray hair's eyes narrowed in on the strange ghost. "Lemme guess, you live off of consciousness, right?" He asked, addressing the ghost eater for the first time. "I'm guessing you're usin' though energy to sustain you. Not a lot of things out there that can do that and I sure as hell ain't come across'em." Dmitry kept his lazy demeanor despite the bizarre topic of conversation, taking a sip of his water before answering the question that was asked of him earlier. "Still, it would explain why you had that reaction with nature spirits. They don't come from any living soul like a ghost; they've been spirits from the start. They didn't die and they were never 'alive', as folks like to call it." As he said this, the medium held up a hand in a position as though he were holding something up for another to view. Within his palm, a dim silver glow began to emerge, his pupils taking on a similar and his irises becoming pitch black. "Human souls and the apparitions born from them behave in the manner of singular organisms, much like an animal. They exist within their own time and act on raw feeling more than anything." His speech changed drastically as he echoed the words of his teacher, the glow dividing into three spectral orbs moving in a circle over the top of Dmitry's palm. "True spirits exist in a state that precedes consciousness or even unconsciousness. There is no rhyme or reason to their behavior, yet they do exactly what they must. They are order without control, the essence of nature." Then, suddenly, he blinks. His eyes return to normal and the glowing orbs vanish, Dmitry turning to the left to find their waitress with their food. "Um, Here's your order." She said as politely as possible to the bizarre duo. Thankfully, magic itself wasn't uncommon in magnolia, being home to the Fairy Tail guild, and the site did little to unsettle her. She moved over to the table and set down a a hamburger with french fries in front of Dmitry, the answer to his request for 'meat'. The mage simply stared at it for a moment as Fina was given her meal, his sage-like moment long gone. |
