Fairy Tail Guild RP Current News

Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Lavender Forest was an odd place, to be sure. There was a somewhat unreal quality about the air there, as if you had stepped over the line from awakening to dreams at some undefined point, and were now merely wandering about until some happenstance managed to bring you back to where you entered.

Learme loved the place, naturally. It was fascinating, seeing the oddities. He wasn't going in too far, not alone. Anything could be in there, and he was painfully aware that he was not likely to survive an attack by anything with any particular strength. He needed to figure out a few combat spells sometime soon.

Sighing slightly, the young being cracked his neck, then kept walking through the trees, the sunlight barely perceptible in the dense canopy. It was strangely peaceful, in a way. Strange there weren't more people here, it was a lovely place.

The dense canopy let shafts of light peer through. The rays created a beautiful display across the foliage. Birds sung their songs in a distorted chorus of chirps. The wind played with the leaves adding to the melody. This world was beautiful and surreal in many ways. One could easily lose themselves in the meandering trails cut by the wildlife.

A woman wound her way through the trees, keeping to the shadows as best as possible. Her skin was covered nearly completely and a hooded cloak masked her head. As she walked a tune could be heard on her lips, hummed in unison with the music of the forest. Despite her reluctance for the sun's kiss, she admired this place. There was calm here and it was infectious.

As she wandered she spotted someone in the distance. Instantly her breath slowed and she got quiet. Her steps became light and her cloak pulled in to prevent rustling. A tree was put between her and him for cover. She peered out, hoping she hadn't been noticed already. He seemed normal until she looked at his head. Two horns protruded from each side of his head.

"Shit, demon? Maybe an animal of some kind?" She remembered the snake lady she had seen before promptly getting the fuck out of there. As she kept herself as invisible as possible she calmed and watched closely. "Either way, just move along."

Pausing, Learme peered about. He had heard the sound of something, he thought. Stopping in his tracks, he turned around. Well, either that was someone, or something, or he was imagining it. Thinking about it logically, if it was a person, they were hiding. If it was an animal, it was hiding. If it was nothing, this wouldn't really be noticeable. So, in short, nothing to lose!

"I know you're there. Come out, I don't mean any harm." He stopped, and turned towards where he had heard the noise, staring purposefully. Raising his hands slightly, he held them up casually. "Are you a native of this forest?" The effect would have made him seem quite perceptive.

Unfortunately, he did not quite give this impression to anyone watching, most likely. It was well-done, but he was also facing the wrong direction, a good 80 degrees away from Minou. Regardless, the young man had no idea this was the case. "I came here for some research, but got distracted by the trees. I hope I didn't scare you. Is it the teeth? I've been told I have very pointy teeth. I'm not sure why that's bad. Doesn't that just mean I can eat better? Like a fox or something. Oh! Are you a giant mouse? Is that the cause of this?" The cheerful artificial human stopped mid-tangent. "Oh dear, I'm doing it again. My apologies."

Minou caught a breath in her throat and slipped back behind the tree completely. She made not a sound. However, as he spoke she couldn't help but peek back around and have to force back a laugh.

Looking now his movements were clearly not hostile. He acted as if a fool, but seemingly an honest one. Took her back to her first leaving the island. It did not make her completely drop her guard though. A hand rested on her gun as she spoke, but kept the tree between them.

"If you really mean that then its probably best you keep moving and we'll just walk by each other."

At the voice, Learme paused, then slowly rotated around, facing towards her. So, that had been... the wrong direction. Dammit. He kept up the easy appearance, though. He had made progress! Admittedly, it did help that people took him for a bit silly. He didn't mind, happy people were more forthcoming. Dignity wasn't really a concern when you were put in a light testing gown and left in a cold room for the first 2 years of your life, now was it?

"Oh, there you are! Keep walking? Why? Can't we talk like civilised... hmm." He looked down at himself. "Well, civilised person and me?" He tapped the horns. "I hope you aren't taken aback by these, by the way. I'm not a demon, although I've been confused for one before. I'm almost human." His smile never stopped, although it didn't seem to have much malice. Shrugging again, Learme looked back and forth. "Is there some reason I should mean you harm? I'd prefer not to."

"Considering your situation I doubt you'd have a reason." She took a second to consider the current setting. Two people, one an unknown near demon and the other a blood sucking parasite as she'd been used to being called. If he had the power to kill her now he'd probably have already done it. However, chances are he's just as lost in a world of men and monsters as she was. She poked her hand out from around the tree to give position. "If you just wanna talk then sure, but if I see a weapon you'll not see mine. Fair?"

"Not really a reason, no." He plopped down onto the ground, hands on his knees and legs folded, and looked towards the voice. A moment later, a face emerged. Well, sort of. She appeared to be heavily wrapped up. How fascinating. Was she in disguise? If so, why? Well, perhaps she'd tell him. Shrugging slightly, he went to lean back on his hands, then paused. "Well, I do have a weapon, sort of gauntlets with sharp blades, but they're all wrapped up. Can't exactly get them out quick."

He tapped the sides of the large jumper he was wearing, and a slight clink could be heard. "I can show you if you want, but from the sound of it, you'd probably get me first if I tried anything. No, I'm just a curious sort." Nodding slightly, his grin widened for a moment. "Learme Melchance, fascinating to meet you, yes. Are you from around here, or just visiting like I am?"

Gesturing at the trees, the mid-afternoon light giving the area a slightly lazy appearance, he sniffed for a moment. "Little disappointed it doesn't smell like lavender." Leaning forward, the young being rested his chin on his hands, leather gloves acting as a cushion, and waited for this traveler to come out.

She dropped her hand and stepped out, taking in the man fully now. Seeing him eased her concerns, slightly. She kept the cloak pulled around until she came to a shady spot yards away beneath a tree and sat down, allowing the cloak to fall from her head and looking up. "Bethany Arinosi, Vampira le Nosferatu. Visiting and so far enjoying my stay. Granted the locals are a mixed lot." She sat her pack beside her and looked him over once more. "So, what do you want to discuss?"

As she sat down, Learme was considering her. However, when she stated what she was, you could almost see his eyes pop open. "Vampire?" He leaned forward, shaking slightly. Hair overshadowing his pupils for a moment, he sounded shaky. "That... that is..."

When he looked up, his eyes were sparkling. "ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING. I've never met a vampire! That must be the reason for the cloak! I thought perhaps a shadow body mage, or someone covering amor." Leaning forward, he looked her up and down. "I take it you do drink blood, yes? How terribly interesting. I suppose it's like me in a way, I seek out knowledge to sustain myself." Lifting a hand, he held the other up. "Not an attack, don't worry."

With a swipe, a rectangular window appeared, green with darker green text. Learme looked back at her. "I'm an Archive Magic user. Terribly handy stuff." Tapping it again, he beat a static melody against his chin with his fingers, then finally decided on one of the thoughts whirling about his head. "So, why are you here, if you don't mind me asking. Question for a question, perhaps?" It seemed fair enough, a good way to get what he wanted. As long as she didn't ask anything too odd, it would be fine.

The woman got her legs under her as if ready to run as he leaned in. The iris of her eyes began to flush dark. Her hand reached for her gun and she expected something to happen. . . but it didn't. As he fawned over her she was beside herself. It took her a second to calm down again. In that second her apprehension turned into one of relief. "Holy shit, the guy is just like me. Well, a while back anyway."

Seeing his delight put her at further ease and she allowed herself to relax a little, settling in. "I keep forgetting there are stories about us around. Not exactly the same but close enough anyway." She shook her head a bit and her face softened. "I left home simply to see the world more or less. Was a scout back home and came across something no one knew much about so I figured the world is a big place. Might as well see if anyone in it knows more." She reached into her pack and pulled out a small bottle, taking a sip. "My turn. What's Archive Magic?"
