Hey everyone, it's me, your Lord and Savior, your Once and Future King, and your new Admin-for-Life Unlimit Sendo. I'm here to drop some turnbuckle-diving elbows and awesome news. There's been some relatively small updates to rulings regarding summon familiars and single summons. Additionally, there's also been a pretty big update in regards to the AP shop which reorganizes it and adds a ton of new stuff. You can find that in the AP Shop section under Item Creation. Check it out.

Well, whatever he had expected, this certainly wasn't it. Someone from another world, hmm? It sounded like she was a spirit or something. He would have assumed demon, but... well, frankly, if a demon was wandering around Fiore with the level of magic she exhibited, it probably wasn't a massive problem. Unless she has significantly more powerful spells hidden, that was. Still, if she did, she probably wouldn't have been searching randomly for assistance. A boon for him, certainly, but perhaps not for her.

As she explained the mechanics further, Learme sat back, frowning. He had moved past his initial glee, and was now contemplating the issue. It was very, very tempting to mess with the girl, but honestly? It seemed likely that she would look for other help if his own wasn't sufficient. That would be simply terrible. This was far too unique for him to simply let escape. It was one of the few things that could sober him up a bit, so to speak. Time to look at the facts. One, she had once been strong enough to run a town, probably one with many mages, from the sound of it. Two, she was more focused on illusion, due to having a bond to that particular magic, associated with the realm.

Closing his eyes, Learme's fingers tapped together just in front of his lips. "This is... fairly unusual. Most mages gather ethernano from the world around them to recharge their magic, filling set limit. The limit can be increased with time and practice, like a muscle. In your case, it's more like channeling magic from another source, rather than storing it yourself." Opening his eyes, he lifted a finger. "First thought. Look into summoning mages, like Celestial Spirit mages or others who bring out things to fight for them. They channel magic to their summon, and discovering the mechanics by which they do so might assist you in strengthening your connection." He lifted a second finger. "Next, you could attempt to see if your magic could be adjusted to function by the rules of Earthland's mages, but I cannot predict what consequences that might be." Shrugging slightly, he lifted a third finger.

"Finally, although predictable, you could simply utilize your magic as often as possible. It may widen the aperture through which your connection supplies you. If you have any other spells, it might assist me in determining further, but you appear to be using magic in a different way than anyone else I've ever encountered."

Huh, Titania had never actually thought of it that way before. She had heard of a few summoning mages here and there, but never would have thought of it correlating with the way she used hers. The more she thought about it, the more it made sense. From what she had read, summoning mages often called upon their creatures from other dimensions, which was shockingly similar to her situation. Although the third option was quite fascinating, she would never really be able to attempt it. The Arcana of which she borrowed was very potent, in that one drop had thousands of magical possibilities, enough so that an earthlandian human would probably never be able to directly call upon the river itself. It made her wonder though, what would happen if an Archive mage copied one of her spells? She thought about it momentarily, before coming to the most likely conclusion that they would just siphon a bit off from her bond. Given the small amount needed for a spell, it would most likely go unnoticed.

Before she could respond, the waitress returned with a plate of the bread promised to them when they sat down. Due to the sudden appearance of bread, Titania was distracted from the conversation and immediately broke off a piece of it and slathered it in a salty butter that was scooped into a fancy looking piece of china. The waitress smiled at them, before offering an apology at the wait it took to bring out the baked goods. She supplied an excuse that the oven had been a bit weird so they needed to use an older, slower one, for food safety.

Posted Image"I think we need...... More time to order.

With a curt nod, the waitress left the room, leaving them in silence. Said silence was quickly broken by Titania, eager to jumpstart into this potential advancement of her magic. The aroma of chives and butter filled the room, much to Titania's delight. The scent was not particularly good to any normal person, but she was odd in that it gave her great pleasure. Another moment of silence reminded Titania of the conversation they had been having, and the response she was formulating in her head.

"Oh yea........ I can summon another illusion if you'd like. I also have a spell, but it's too damaging to be used in a restaurant like this. After the illusion, I'd be happy to show you the other one. Now....... What do you want me to mimic? I don't think it could be bigger than a basketball, which is unfortunately, the size limit at my current magical strength."

Titania looked as if she was about to respond, but before she could, the door opened and the waitress came in, delivering the bread and butter. Learme nodded at the Waitress, smiling politely. Titania commented that they needed more time to order, and she left. Good, he was curious as to what she'd say. Waiting to order food was an annoyance he didn't need right now.

Limits to the illusion, and another spell as well. Interesting. Although, she said it was damaging... Hmm. "I may have an idea for the damaging spell, but we'll leave that for a minute. If I could see the illusion again, that would be helpful. Perhaps you could mimic the loaf of bread there? Comparing the illusion to the real thing while it is active would likely yield helpful information." From the sounds of it, her current magical strength was fairly minimal, which meant that his idea for the other spell would likely work. Folding his hands together, he grinned slightly.

"Although, it would be a shame to get charged for both, but oh well."

Nodding slightly, he paused. "Ah, right, actually, have you decided what you want?" Standing up, he leaned out the door, raising a finger slightly. The Waitress, who seemed to be a bit bored given the current silence of the cafe, perked up and moved over. "Yes, my business partner" he made sure to phrase it as such, to avoid any gossip. "may still be deciding, but I would like to order the glazed roast, please." She nodded, jotting it down, then turned to Titania, waiting to see if she had decided. Either way, she would head off to the kitchen and deliver the order. Sitting back down, he nodded. "Well, by all means, go right ahead." He would have to wait for her to cast it to begin his viewing, annoyingly. He wasn't able to keep it up as long as he'd like just yet.

Unexpectantly, Titania felt apprehensive. She had never actually created an illusion under the detailed supervision of another. Generally speaking, it was also done under the sleight of hand or while attention had been drawn away. Briefly, she wondered what the other man would see, but quickly dismissed the thought. It didn't matter if he could see through it right now, because they weren't enemies and she didn't need the advantage. However, it was worrying if it was that easy to see through her Lachelnian Veils.

Yawning, Titania began the mental scouring for the bond, but was disrupted by the man's ordering of food. Huh, he had ordered the glazed roast. More interestingly, however, was the designation the man had given her. Perhaps he was ashamed with being seen eating along another woman, therefore perhaps he already had a mate and was covering for himself just in case word got around. She laughed mentally, always finding the Human mating process complicated yet always fueled by strong emotions that would be considered frightening if expressed in any other part of life.

Before waiting to cast her spell, she waited for the man to return to his set. Once he had done so, she began focusing on her bond. Titania held out her hands, and channeled the Arcana into them. At this use of magic, ethereal wings sprouted from her back, bending to the curves of her chair. The ambient lighting that had been set up carefully by the electricians was disturbed by the colored glow of her appendage. While the glob of Arcana was passing through dimensions, she focused on its veil, so that when it appeared in her hand, it had the form of the half eaten loaf previously baked for them.

Titania placed it down on the table, and looked back up to the archive mage.

"I can't use these wings for flight, by the way. I hope..... this is satisfactory"

Settling back down in his seat, Learme watched carefully as the ethereal wings appeared again. It seemed that was a signal for her magic. Did she cut the connection when she wasn't using Magic, and that was why they vanished? Perhaps it was just her version of the magic circle. A moment later, her hand glowed, and the loaf appeared in her hand, identical to the one next to it on the table. Fascinating. His eyes glowed, and he brought up a window as the data was compiled. The information was quite useful, this time. It seemed, in fact, that all the pieces had been put together as to how this particular mage-craft worked.

"Oh, it is most satisfactory. I have determined that, if nothing else, your spells work by the same rules as ours. Whether they did before or not, I obviously cannot tell, but the technique is at least functioning according to something I am able to piece apart." Flickering through the windows popping up, a few swipes of his hand sent them vanishing away, and he focused on her again. "What I've gathered only strengthens my belief that you may benefit from a combination of the ideas suggested. Simple training seems likely to strengthen you, but channeling might as well." There was, admittedly, another possibility, one he didn't voice.

If this place she had come from had been destroyed, it was possible that she did not, in fact, still possess a connection to this mentioned 'River'. Her magic was odd, but not totally different from how other magic worked. If she had been here for any length of time, her magic might well have adapted to function in this world instead. However, if she was now drawing from her own internal reserves, instead of an outside source, it could explain the sudden drop in her magic. This train of thought was derailed by a knock. "And that's probably the waitress. I suppose something that takes such a long time, like a roast, must be mostly prepped somehow to prevent a long wait."

Titania was almost glad the food had arrived. It was unsettling to watch the eyes of the man scanning and disecting the magic she had cast. For some reason, it made her feel bare, exposed. In a way, it was intrusive. Regardless of her discomfort, she smiled and swallowed the distaste, nothing would come from potentially upsetting the man. Was it reasonable for Titania to have a phobia of Archive magic? Potentially, given her thoughts and fears about the effect of mimicking Lachelnian Arcana would have on her body. Even though her fears had now been mostly quelled after hearing the man actually take after his scan, just a smidgen remained, enough to cause a bit of worrying. Now that the large glazed roast had arrived, it offered a distraction from their magical exploits.

A sweet yet tangy smell was emanating from the meat as the waitress entered the room. While it certainly did not smell better than the freshly baked bread, the roast did seem appetizing. The mass of chicken was placed at the center of their table, along with two smaller plates and two sets of forks and knives. While the server seemed to have disregarded Titania's glowing wings, or just didn't react, it took her a while to notice the extra loaf of bread. Confused, the brunette stared momentarily before sighing and leaving. Her shoes clicked rhythmically against the restaurant hardwood.

"Thank you......... I have a combat spell that you might take an interest in, and I probably need a bit of help using it. I find that the new way I use magic is very different than before, so I need help adjusting. Mind if I take a bit of the roast?"

"As long as you don't mind me taking a look, I would be glad to examine it. Granted, I won't likely be able to reproduce it from the same source as you do, but rather from my own magic." He spun the knife for a moment, before gesturing down. "Go right ahead. Actually, you had mentioned a spell that was too destructive to use in here. Perhaps firing it at the walls or table would be rude, but..." He picked up the fork, lifting the roast with the knife, and piercing the back with the fork's tines. He place the knife between them, creating a bipod with which to lift it sideways.

"Here. A target that can most likely take the hit. At worst, it simply removes the need for a knife, I'd think. Still..." Lifting up the bread, he took the platter it was on, leaving the bread itself on a spare plate intended for taking a part of the roast. Holding it behind the Roast, he looked up. "There. Now, any splatter should hit the plate. I'm not certain how strong this spell is, but if you can cast it with less than full power, that might be for the best."

His eyes focused on her, waiting for the combat spell. There was a reason he had ordered such a thick meal. It was probably hefty enough to take a light hit, like a punch or something similar, so it was far less likely to get damaged by her demonstration.

In all Honesty, Titania didn't really want to eat any of the meat anyway. It wasn't a vegetarian thing, but more of already being full from the inappropriate amount of buttered bread she had consumed. This was a more interesting part of the lunch, for sure. Right now, she'd be using the blob of almost unrefined Arcana, which was straight from the river itself, While Titania was certain it wouldn't cause too much harm, she still felt that slight drop of apprehension leading up to the moment at which she would cast the spell.

Learme had cleverly constructed a tower of sorts, from which a slightly dull and scratched butter knife stood. He was also holding out the large plate, hopefully, to catch and mess that was made by her spell. Personally, Titania did not have the amount of confidence to believe it would actually cause any splatters, but it had been a long time since she had ever used it, because mostly, it was unnecessary for the things she had been doing.

Once more, Titania focused her energy on the bond, and held out her hands. Her wings shimmered as a small glob of Arcana grew between her palms. It reached a size approximate to the roast at which she halted the flow, and then focused on removing her control over it. Instead of a smooth round roast sized sphere, it was now a churning and rippling glob of shifting pastel hues. Feeling satisfied with what she had conjured up, Titania directed it towards the glazed meat. It was slower than she would have normally used it, much slower actually, most likely to give the archive mage a chance to see what it was doing.

Upon contact with the roast, a bizarre sizzling sound was heard until shreds of meat and sauce began splattering all around the room. Titania covered her eyes, which thankfully protected her eyes from a flew scraps that had hit the back of her hands. Willing the glob to dissolve, it did, along with the faux bread. Titania was now using no magic, and therefore her wings went with her previous creations. The pink haired girl had nothing left to do except stare at the roast, which was half shredded, stare at Learme, who's held up plate did not receive any splatter, and inhale the strange smell of caramelized sugar and burnt meat.

"Oh........"

As Titania fired the spell off, Learme peered at it. He didn't get much, but what he did get was enough to warn him that she hadn't listened when he said to lower the power. Ducking behind the plate, he winced at the sound of splattering, and looked around. Thankfully, it wasn't too much of a mess. It looked like the roast had just popped suddenly. "Well, I suppose I'll have to come up with an excuse for that. Wonderful. Maybe a bit less juice if you try that in the future? I did warn you." Sighing slightly, he settled back into his seat.

Leaning forward, Learme re-arranged the utensils and such, and stared at it. The sound of foot-steps could be heard outside, and a second later, the Waitress peered in. "Sorry, we just heard a noise, and- What happened?" Looking confused, she stared at the torn roast and the mess. Learme shrugged. "We heard a hissing noise and it burst. Maybe there was air trapped inside the bone or something?"He gestured about, then shrugged again. "Either way, I think we're finishing up. Could I get a check please?"

She looked skeptical of his admittedly hasty explanation, but nodded and left, likely to hunt down the bill. Turning back, he picked a piece of meat off his sweater and scratched his chin. "Well, that was informative, anyway. Just strengthened my belief in my previous ideas, though. Was there anything else you wanted to know, or were curious about?"

When the waitress returned to their table, Titania fully expected her to be mad. What she wasn't expecting, was the lie created by Learme. It was pretty crafty if she was being honest, and ingenious too. If she was in his position, she probably wouldn't have been able to create the same excuse. She was thankfully for his deceitful ability, her jewels were running low at the moment and she had no need to pay for cleaning or other costly reparations.

Gracefully, Titania excused herself from the table and wiped off the crumbs from her skirt. Even if she was new to the whole concept of eating and sustaining oneself, by this time, she should have known better than to create a huge mess. However, standing before the splatter of meat, a few crumbs were hardly anything to be anxious over.

"Actually............... No I don't. I'm very thankful for your time, but I now need to get going. If you ever need to meet with me in the future, please contact me at the guild of Sabertooth, a smaller one I cam currently looking to join. I'll probably get in, so it's likely that you'll find me there. I don't have any jewels on me to pay for this, sorry......."

Titania turned around and exited through the doors. Her shoes clacked against the hard floor and echoed through the main dining area. More people were starting to arrive, obviously for the main meal time. Now the smell of cooking food was greater, due to the greater demand for food. People stared at the pink haired girl, but generally didn't bother her.

Before leaving, the waitress stopped her, asking if she was going to pay. Instead, she motioned to the booth and at the green eyed main.

"À Dieu"
