PersonalitySaiko is a bubbly girl who despite her line of work, takes everyday life lightly. She is usually smiling and enjoys cheesy jokes and slap stick humor, any absurdly dumb act is enough to drive her to tears, and when somebody is dressed up stupidly she can't help but poke fun. In general she's an easy going girl with normal girl habits and tendencies. She is easily flattered and blushes at any statement that can be misconstrued as flirting. She loves sweets but also loves bitter things, though she hates chocolate with a passion and thinks chocolate covered strawberries are the worst thing in all of earth-land. Her favorite fruit by far is strawberries and if you say anything about them she'll probably hate you. She knows she's cute and sometimes tries to use that fact to her benefit sometimes. She is far from dim and is actually pretty intelligent, which isn't the impression you'd get if you just observed her walking down the street. She is easy going and seems lackadaisical, almost like she's lost in her environment. But she can change on the drop of a dime into a more serious and no nonsense person. History [tabs][tab=Part 1] ![]() Saiko grew up in a normal environment in Hargeon Town, living a mundane life away from the chaos brought by magic-wielding people from mainland Fiore. Her father, being a retired knight who lost his leg and an arm in an assignment, and her mother, a lawyer, knew very well of the the 'perils' and 'downsides' of being near any mage. They wanted to spare their child from the chaos, thus the decision to raise her in the said island. It had been that way for some time, sheltered from the reality that magic and tragedy existed as her parents tried to keep any and all information away from their daughter, until she reached an age where she was able to read and comprehend things and explore the small town where she lived. Almost every week, there were incidents reported in the newspapers which are mage or magic-related. People were talking about them, and everywhere she went she could see or hear similar events. Her interest piqued, she kept on asking her father information regarding these reports, but she never got any decent answers. Her father would tell her that these things happen because "the Knights are underfunded", "the mages are getting stronger," or "mages are stupid", and afterwards she would be lured away from the subject. Never did she hear any solution, suggestion or discussion regarding the subject from her parents, but it never quelled the thirst for answers. Secretly, she would ask friends, neighbors and townsfolk for information, and the people would gladly provide her with some... but it did not mean what she got was enough. People could only tell what they know, and the veracity of it could be questionable. At the same time, knowing that there were threats around them, Saiko's father decided to train her as a swordsman. He believed she would need it to protect herself one day, since they, her parents, would not always be by her side. Every day she practiced may it meant she would be bruised or scarred or by the end of the day she had to endure terrible body aches. Eventually she got stronger and well adept in using her choice of weapon, a katana. Alongside this 'textbook' mastery, she was able to create her own combinations and flexible movements which no one could accomplish except for her. The training also pumped up her speed, which became one of her advantages in swordfights. Her father could not be any more proud. When her parents sensed Saiko was already capable of defending herself, her parents allowed her to travel, but on the premise that she would not get very far away from Hargeon, and she would have to be home by night time. She had no qualms with it, she knew that they were just concerned of her safety, and thus abided with their wants. [/tab][tab=Part 2] ![]() It was a great day to be out in a boat: the sun was shining brightly, the skies were clear and the seas were calm. Saiko and her friends decided to visit the mainland out of whim and thinking it would be fun. They reached the shore, and thought it would be fun to drop by Tessera. However, as they traversed the territory belonging to Magnolia, Saiko got distracted with the flora and fauna around them that she was separated from the group and got lost. She tried to keep her act together, but she could not help but to panic. Finding her way back to the shore or to Tessera, she found herself seeking shelter inside a cave when a storm suddenly came. The said cave was quite creepy: aside from it being dark, there were cracks on the walls, potholes on the ground, and dilapidated mine tracks on most parts of the cave. But what was eerie was she could hear something --- or rather someone --- humming a melodious tune. Mesmerized, she followed the sound until she found herself farther down the cave, in an antechamber with faint light thanks to the deep crack on the cave's ceiling. Checking her surroundings she found a lump, and upon nearing it the humming got louder. With a pounding chest and a heightened curiosity and interest, Saiko dug up and found a mask. It was amazing how it was in a pristine condition despite being underneath a lump of earth. It had markings, and Saiko thought it was cool, hence she decided to keep it. When the rain stopped, she went out of the cave with the mask. After a few walks, she found her friends who were looking for her for hours already. They pushed through with their trip to Tessera. They were forced to stay in a hotel for the night because of some weather advisories and being it not safe to sail back to Hargeon. In the hotel room, Saiko tried wearing the mask to see if it looked good on her. And it did... along with a lot of things she never expected that changed her life forever. [/tab][/tabs] |

Magic![]()
Magic Description: When the user wear the mask they will become colder in personality and in some cases more focussed. The mask changes the users eyes to an indigo color and also darkens their hair significantly. When the mask is on a dark purple aura that ribbons off the users shoulders and trails behind her. This magic gives the user access to spells that would normally fall under the element of darkness.
