The crack of dawn showed its face as the sun rays shone down on the god's face. Blinking twice, he let out a big yawn as he turned a corner. During his disappearance and training with the Forest Hermit, Sun had missed out on quite a few things. The election of the new Fiorean King, the second modern way against Bosco (within 4 years, no less) as well as the stunningly decrease in guild mage activity. The war had taken its toll on Fiore, even if most would not like to admit it. The same could be said about Raven Tail; despite its vast riches, the guild had fallen into a rut it could not get itself out of. The Guild Master seemed unavailable, a lot of members had left. While most were out for Bosco, something told Sun that some of them took this opportunity to flee. In any case, Sunny, feeling a tiny bit responsible for it, decided to see if he could revitalize the guild. The first thing to do was to make sure that everyone was happy and that the connections the guild was still satisfying AND satisfied. For these reasons, Sun decided to answer a special request by a knight in Poinsettia that was being paid by Raven Tail under the table for information. Through the usual channels, Sunny received word from that knight, Sir Vincent Evans. He arrived at the rendez-vous point, a small apartment on the ground floor. Place was crawling with knights and detectives, seemingly looking for any clues for an as-of-yet not disclosed situation. "You're late." Vincent sighed annoyingly as Sun turned the corner. "Coco," he whispered as Sun approached, "I know you pay me and all, but you need to help me out too!" Sun dismissed him with his hand. "I don't go by that name anymore. Use my real one, Sun." Vincent sighed in annoyance and showed him inside. When knights and detectives started staring at the intruder and asking questions, Vincent simply said that he was a special consultant on the case. "What's the situation?" "Kidnapping. These two are Mr. Jonah and Mrs. Elena Reyes. Mr. Reyes was working on his new invention in his workshop, music blasting, while their son, Robbie, was watching on the lachryma vision over here. An hour passes and while Mr. Reyes goes to check in on him, he notices his disappearance. He looks high and low for his son and contacts his wife to know if she had anyone pick him up." Vincent pointed to a window and Sun deduced the rest. "So the kidnapper just took the kid from this window-" "And whisked him away. No bars on the windows and no locks. Already questioned them on it; they meant to put some, but never got the money or chance to do it." "To snatch a child so easily from his parents like that... that's rough." "Messed up. That's why I called you. You have good senses, a keen eye and despite your antics that I seldom find charming, you're strong too. Want to help me on this?" "No problem. Kids should not have to go through these things." "Oh, but this time, to make sure that no fiasco happens like the last case, I called in another mage. This is one is from Blue Pegasus; thought it might be good to have a local guild member on this. It's all hands on deck." Sunny looked at him with a 'what the hell' look. After being dethroned as Miss Fiore, Reggie occupied herself with activities in the guild and weekend dates with Toshiro. It was pretty much the same minus the cameras and tha fans. It was actually a breath of fresh air for Reggie. The only thing she missed were the dresses and shoes sponsored for her. But with all those sponsored clothes right before she got dethroned, her closet could barely hold it all. She was helping out the some members regarding a mysterious mission about a message which none of the rune books could translate when the butler informed her that a knight was requesting for her assistance. Reggie readily agreed. At least the knights in this city still trust her. The blonde wizard went towards her room to change. Several hours later, she came to the said place where Sir Evans had told her to go. She wore a black and white striped shirt with elbow-length sleeves along with a pink flared mini skirt. The get-up was completed with white high heels. Reggie wore her hair down as she flipped a few strands towards her hair. The place was packed with knights. It seemed that something happened in here. "Sir Evans?" She asked one of the knights who was actually checking her out. He fixed his stare at her face and then pointed upwards. "Thanks." She told him awkwardly and she proceed to climb the stairs. Upstairs, the place was still packed with knights. Reggie looked around and saw someone who's not actually a knight. He was talkin to a knight who told him that he called for an assistance from the local guild. The knight was Sir Evans. She approached him as she cleared her throat. "Hello! You must be Sir Evans. I'm Reggie from Blue Pegasus. You called for me." She said as she turned to the cloaked person in front of her. Not wanting to be rude, she smiled at him and turned back to Sir Evans. |

Soon enough, the guest of honor arrived at the crime scene. And ph boy she was a looker. "Don't even think about it," Evans said as he was leaving Sun's side to greet the lady, "Her boyfriend is the strongest mage in Fairy Tail, Toshiro Togashi, and she's very strong herself. Keep in your pants, monkey boy." Sun looked at him suspiciously. "You... You've been way too cozy with me lately, hm? HM?" Exasperated, Evans went to meet with the newcomer and respond to her. "Regina Mckenzie, I am honored that you responded to my call." He showed her the way and explained to her the situation about the kidnapped little boy as well as the current details of the investigation. "And that's all we know so far. Nothing else has popped up." He looked at Sun who urged Evans to come his way. Excusing himself to Reggie for a second, he walked over. "What?" "I knew I recognized her... She's Miss Fiore! Or at least, she was Miss Fiore, but still! Holy shit, she's so hot-" "Sunny!" "...sorry." Taking a deep breath, he motioned Regina to come join them. "Regina, this is Sun Wukong, my partner. He's a consultant when it comes to difficult cases or those that are time-sensitive. And Sun, you already know Regina Mckenzie." "Yes! I must say, you should have won Miss Fiore again, Mckenzie." Evans gave him a look and Sun coughed. "Anyways, right now there isn't much information that can give us a clue at to what is going on, so I guess our best bet for now would be to hit the streets and keep our ears on the ground; get as much info by bystanders and anyone who might have seen something between 9 and 10 am. That and-" Suddenly, a small magic circle appeared on the table, pulsating a magenta color. The knights and officers went towards it, wondering what was happening. Evans was confused, but Sunny knew what kind of magic it was just by the runes and disposition of the markings. This was a voice recording type of spell, a pretty good one that would make it impossible for even the best mage to discover its range or location. We're either dealing with professionals or someone who's been taught a great deal. Evans looked at Reggie. "Does this look familiar to you" Soon, a voice would come out of the circle. "We have your little boy Robbie, and you can have him back... In exchange, we ask thirty million jewels." Sunny whistled in the background, while the parents wimpered in fear. "We will contact you back with more instructions." |

Reggie came to Sir Evans while he was still talking to the cloaked guy. The cloaked guy was looking at her. Maybe she got something on her face. Did she smudge her lips while going here? Or was one of her cheeks pinkier than the other one? Maybe she smell. She combed her hair towards her front as she sniffed her fingers. It was the usual scent of the jasmine shampoo she always used. Maybe she forgot to spray a bit of perfume. But before she could even sniff her wrist, Sir Evan came her way. The knight formally greeted her and thanked her for answering to his call. "Don't mention it." She said as she wondered if she had brushed her teeth before leaving. But it doesn't seemed so as Sir Evans went on to tell her about what really happened. He was in the midst of his tell-tale when she realized maybe he was trying to endure her imaginary bad breath. But she shrugged it off as she needed to focus on this. As soon as he was done telling her the event, he was called by the cloaked guy to come towards him. Reggie then did a quick check on her breath if it smells bad while Sir Evans walked towards the cloaked guy. Well, she did not smell bad. She heard Sir Evans callin him Sunny. He must've said something funny that didn't amuse the knight. Just in time when she turned to them, Sir Evans was gesturing her to come. Reggie walked gracefully towards them as her hair flew backward a bit, giving her an etherial look. Sir Evans introduced her to a guy who was a consultant on such cases. His name's Sun Wukong. The knight then reminded Sunny that he might already know her, which he readily confirmed as he told her she should win Miss Fiore again. "Oh please Mr. Wukong. Just call me Reggie. Everyone does." She said as she laughed gently. She then noticed that Sunny went business like as she saw the knight gave him a look. There must be a joke between them. Maybe they had a joke about her. But she found it cute about him rooting for her to win again. Reggie listened to Sunny when a magic circle suddenly appeared above a table. It was magenta. It was kinda familiar. But where did she see it? Hearing Sir Evans, she turned to him. "Actually, it kinda looks familiar to me. I just can't remember where I saw it." She told the knight. |

Reggie seemed familiar with the magic circle, but didn't know exactly what it was. It was written on her face too; she knew it, she had seen it, but her brain couldn't make the connection between her memories and the information itself. Sun smiled. So I'm not working with an idiot... good. He went to the table where the glow dimmed completely. The markings were still etched on the wood of the table, sizzling hot from the energy output. Sun examined it once more, to be sure of his suspicions. He turned to the knights, Sir Evans and Reggie. "I had a suspicion of what this was, but now I'm sure. See the markings in the inner rim of the circle. That's for transmission of information, in this case, 'voice'. The second rim of code seems to indicate that they are indeed somewhere in the city, but the problem is that the star in the middle, combined with the symbols at each extremity (木, 火, 土, 金, 水), makes it impossible to determine where or who they are. However, I have to tell you one thing... they're definitely people who know their way around magic." Evans started thinking out loud. "So... The Reyes have been married for ten years. Elena works for the local bank while Jonah is a living art painter." Sunny interrupted. "What's a living art painter?" Before Jonah could say anything, Mr. Reyes started painting something on his canvas and simply said "come alive". Immediately, the drawing he had created leaped out of the canvas, swirling around them and creating the landscape he had painted before going back. Sunny's eyes widened. "That... is extra cool!" "Moving on," Evans said, "Robbie is their only child and he was adopted. Mr. Reyes says that what they did this morning was no different than usual, which means whoever kidnapped Robbie wasn't lucky-" "They knew the morning routine." "Exactly. Ok, guys listen up. Ramirez, Tantei, you guys go through the Reyes' list of contacts and see if anything seems unusual. Henson, stay with the Reyes and see if they're able to uncover the amount in time. Ms Mckenzie, Sun, you two will come with me and figure out where the transmission spell was broadcasted from. These kind of spells tend to be within reach." OOC

The magic circle which conveyed the message looked familiar to Reggie. Where she had seen it, she couldn't remember. She knew it was best to let her mind remember it later during their mission as she turned to Sun who was explaining about the properties of the magic circle. She thought the patterns and the characters within it were just something the magicians had fancied to make their magic looked nice and cool. But it turned out that they had their functions and uses as well. This was the branch of magic she had never studied under her former mistress, Leila. How could be someone be such a hottie and a nerd at the same time? I guess this is one handsome smart guy." Reggie thought as she stared at him, getting a close look at his face. She then blushed as she realized what she was thinking and tried to shrug it off. As Sir Evans told them that the mom works at a bank and the dad was living art painter, Reggie wondered along with Sun about being a living art painter. Mr. Reyes performed gus magic in front of them as he drew a landscape on the canvas which he somehow turned moving and initially materialized outside the canvas before it went back within the paper. Sun exclaimed that it was so cool. "Oh my goodness. You are Mr. Reyes. Poinsettia's most known artist. You painted Mistress Mai's portrait for the guild!" She said as she finally recognized him. "I was hoping to do yours as well Ms Mckenzie. With those body of yours the canvas would be interesting." He said as Reggie couldn't help but turned redder and wrapped her hands on her body. "Well, you are famously known for those Weekly Sorcerer's spread." He told her which somehow calmed her down a bit. Sir Evans proceed to tell them that Robbie was kidnapped that morning and they did nothing unusual. Sun concluded that whoever did it knew the morning routine. "Oh I hope Robbie is okay. But we can't let them knew that he's adopted. They might though we won't have interest in saving him and they might do something horrible to him." She warned them. The knight then divide them into groups. Reggie was grouped with him and Sunny, who would figure out the one who broadcast the magic circle as he was sure they can't be that far. "Oh, I can get to work with someone as smart as Sun." She said as she chained her hand on his arm and patted it with her other hand as she smiled at him. "Let's get to work then, shall we?" |

Sunny listened to Reggie's conversation with Mr. Reyes; seemed like people in Poinsettia had a more artistic approach on life, something he didn't share, but nonetheless respected very much. After all, Sun was a lover of things he never encountered or that caught his attention and he had done everything in his power not to freak out in excitement when Mr. Reyes did his magic trick. He also listened to Reggie as she gave them a very real and fair warning. She's right, he thought, If the kidnappers find out he's adopted, they might assume something wrong and just kill the kid or never give him back... There was something he knew he was forgetting, something important to this, but he couldn't figure out what his mind already knew. His train of thought stopped cold immediately when Reggie put her arm around his and patted it. "What... what are you doing?" Sun gulped; he was slightly embarrassed and another feeling he had not felt ever crept up. His tail started wagging left to right and he took a deep breath as she complimented his intelligence and declared that they would solve the case. He started blushing as well, which Evans noticed and gave Sunny a look of mischief. Sun gasped and broke away from Reggie. "I did nothing!" Evans stifled a laugh. [b]"You claim to have been around... how long? And this flustered you? Wahahaha!"[/b] He continued laughing as he left Sunny speechless and a clenched fist. He turned around and faced Reggie. "You-you-you... You wench! You have a boyfriend! You can't touch me in such a de facto matter!"  He probably made a big thing out of something so small, but one most know that Sunny had never gotten... intimate with a woman. He was, after all, a being that was as much considered a "god" as he was considered a "monster" back in his homeworld. His long black monkey tail had also not helped him score any dates (not that he looked for any) and after the demon invasion, suspicion that he might be part of that ilk had risen tremendously. For someone like Reggie, who was touchy kind of person, Sun couldn't possibly handle her. After regaining his composure, he looked at both Evans and Reggie, making his best effort to ignore what had happened. "So... uhm... Anyone has any suggestions on where we should start looking for the signal?" Evans shrugged and looked at Reggie. "Ms. Mckenzie, you know Poinsettia more than the both us. Do you know any place where they could possibly be?" |

Reggie was being friendly to Sunny when she noticed a tail behind him wagged. "Oh you have a cute tail!" She exclaimed as she noticed Sunny blushing, with Sir Evans giving him a look of mischief. He suddenly said nothing and the blonde wizard had no idea what he was talking about. Sir Evans on the other hand seemed to know what's going on as he laughed at him and teased him about being old and still getting flustered about this. The blonde wizard then realized what she had done as Sunny turned to her and called her wench as she has a boyfriend. "Oh my! I'm so sorry. I was just being friendly. I thought you like to be friends with me since you told me that I should win Miss Fiore again. I must've misunderstood things. I'm so sorry." The blonde wizard said as she bowed down to Sunny. "But that's a cute tail." She told him. The blonde wizard tried to ignore what he just called her as he might be under pressure at such moment. Maybe he's not used to being close with someone. But as she tried to remember the rest of what he said, he mentioned she has a boyfriend. How did he know that? Well, Reggie loves her boyfriend very much. He's always there for her. Just one call away. The blonde wizard had other guy friends. Alastor for example. They are very close to each other. But they're just friends. It seemed that Sunny must've misunderstood her. Though, there's still something she didn't know behind those reaction. Sunny turned to them and asked them where they should start looking, as if nothing happened. Reggie preferred it this way so they can work together for this case. Sir Evans turned to her as she is lives in the city and might be more familiar with it, and asked her where they could possibly be hiding. "Do you have the map of the city?" She asked them as one knight handed her one. "Thank you!" She said as she went to the table and unrolled the map. Sunny and Sir Evans should be standing on her side by now as she examined the map. "The city is quite big and has a lot of places to hide. But we will narrow down the hiding places that the kidnappers would prefer over the others." She said as she pointed at the map. "The clock tower could be one of it. No one goes there except when the clock is broken which never did happen, ever. The maintenance is only once a week. But it's too common in books for the tower to be the hiding place." She said as she pointed to another location. "Second would be the forest." She said as she pointed towards the lavender colors at the upper side of the map. "There's just a lot of things within the forest. And the kidnappers could be one of those things." She said. |

While Sun was trying to get over the embarrassing moment that had just transpired, Reggie started planning their next move. Opening a map, pointing places where kidnappers could hide, making sound judgements about both locations. Sun listened to her intently, trying to discern what the kidnappers would do. However, something was vexing both Sun and Evans: the fact that whoever kidnapped Robbie knew Mr. Reyes' morning routine. A baby sitter? A friend? Family? It seems small, but it's important? Evans had they same thought, but he was a knight; he had to pursue the evidence and the clues that were more immediate than that. Right now, they were determining their best course of action. "To be honest, I wouldn't go to the forest," he said, "Too vast, too complicated to find yourself and set up shop." Sun nodded. "The tower seems more likely... but what if they thought the same thing? What if they thought that we would hold that same belief and based their actions on that?" "They would think that far?" "Gotta explore all our options, man." "What do you suggest?" "We seperate-" "We can't do that. We don't know how many they are, what they can do." "Oh come on, Evans. I can handle myself, Reggie is a strong wizard and to be honest, you're a very good knight." Evans thought long and hard... then sighed. "Fine, what are you suggesting?" "You two go to the tower, I'll go to the forest and figure out where they are. After all," he started wagging his long black monkey tail while giving them a mischievous smile, "Home field advantage." Evans nodded and reached for his pocket. He took out three pinkish white transluscent orb and gave one to Sun as well as Reggie; on top of each was a magic circle with a center that could be pressed down. "These are orbs designed to link to one another so we can communicate. You find anything, you let me know; we'll do the same." Sun nodded and started leaving. Evans left with Reggie, both going to the clock tower to figure out whether or not the kidnappers were there. The knight glanced at Reggie from the corner of his eye. "You know, Ms. Mckenzie," he started, "Sunny didn't mean to call you a 'wench'. He just got flustered; from what I know of him, he doesn't get to meet a lot of women that are... touchy feely like you. Most he meets are strictly business." |

After telling her theory about the place where they could be hiding, Sir Evans and Sunny discussed their hypothesis and plan of action. Sir Evans thought the forest too vast to explore and that the tower seemed to be a likely option. Sunny meanwhile thought the forest would be a good hiding place being vast. The knight thought it would be an effort to search the forest. So Sunny decided that they split up. Sir Evans did not agree at first. But the monkey guy convinced him that they're very much capable on their own. He even praised Reggie for being strong and Sir Evans a good knight. The blonde wizard couldn't help but blushed at such comment. She thought the wizarding community saw her as a beautiful wizard who became famous through Miss Fiore. And now that she was dethroned, she couldn't help but feel appreciated as a guy such as Sunny considered her to be strong. Reggie turned to Sir Evans who reconsidered Sunny's suggestion. The monkey guy proposed that she and Sir Evans will go to the tower while he will scour the forest as it is a field advantage for him. The knight finally agreed and they set off to work. As Reggie and Sir Evans reached the tower, the knight suddenly told her that Sunny didn't mean it to call her wench. He explained that Sunny had not been with much girls. And when he meet one, it was only for business. Reggie turned to him. "Oh! I guess he didn't have a girlfriend before." She giggled. "Actually, I understand him back there. Maybe I was just too touchy. I was trying to build rapport with him but I think I scared the hell out of him." Reggie said sweetly. "To be honest, I am that way to another guy aside from Toshiro. But we're just best friends. He's comfortable with me and I feel the same way towards him. We're like siblings." She told Sir Evans as they started climbing the stairs towards the top. "I was hoping to be the same towards Sunny. I thought he like that since he seemed to be a fan of me in Miss Fiore. But, I was wrong." She added as they went on. They were almost half-way there when Reggie noticed something moving towards them. She jumped towards Sir Evans to make them avoid the boobie trap that was set in the tower. They managed to evade it and Reggie turned to what almost hit them. It was a couple of knives being thrown towards their direction. No. Not throwned. It was aimed towards a spot the moment someone triggered it in the exact same spot. The blonde wizard looked at the stairs they were climbing that time. The step in the middle had a cracked. That must be the trigger. "That boobie trap could just be an intro. This place could be filled with a bunch of it." She told Sir Evans. |
