Account Name: iceking45 Profile Name: Count Leon Bartholomew III Nickname: Leo or Count Age: 67 Gender: Male Height: 68 in. Weight: 154 lb. Guild: N/A Class: D Affiliation: Chaotic Neutral Appearance A messy tuft of ebony hair sits atop Leo’s head its length just longer than his ears. One would not expect such an unkempt appearance out of the business man but yet there is. Chilling blue eyes grace the world with their gaze taking everything in and revealing nothing of his intentions. Said by some as his most striking feature, once his gaze is set upon you it feels as if you are frozen in time as he peels apart their inner workings. A cold gaze is not the only thing the man possesses skin as fair as fresh snow in the new moon of winter covers his body, no wrinkles on his face to betray his age, along with a cool touch as if he had been in a blizzard all day. Fair features on his face, soft pale lips, small ears, and a nose that some would call adorable all coalesce to create a balance to soften his angular chin and bony appendages. More sinew than muscle, the boy’s stature leaves something to be desired and yet there is an air of authority and refinement to him. They way he walks in a room instantly drawing the attention of all who are in it. His arms lack any real density to them and the relationship between his chest and hips are practically one to one. Slight muscle definition is seen all over his body, natural, and only because of his lack of fat. His legs stretch to the ground easily taking up much of his body’s frame and allow him to take long strides as his patent leather shoes make crisp clacks down whatever hallway he walks. Money was no object when it came two things for the Count. Books, preferably written before his fathers time on subject ranging from math and hard sciences to ancient magics and fairy tales of mythical creatures; all things had partial truths written into them. Secondly were suites, the kind hand made from the finest fabrics ranging from styles that boarded on the edge to conservative forms an ode to the old days akin to the Italian mafia. If someone has the pleasure of meeting the CEO of Lattice Energy, the first thing they notice about his attire is its meticulous appearance, clean, not a thread out of place. Black patent leather shoes gleam with a crispness indicative of a fresh polish. Finely hemmed slacks cuff precisely at his ankles revealing the slightest bit of his patterned dress socks, usually some combination of blue and grey. A perfect pleat along the edge of his black trousers runs the length of his legs stopping at the edge of his pockets. A white Belladonian silk button down hangs off of his shoulders complete with an oxford collar. Black wyvern leather winds through the ringlets of his midsection meeting a silver matted buckle embossed with the company logo, a diamond with four dashes at each point. Complimenting his attire and personality a cerulean slim tie hangs exactly at the navel usually clipped against the seam of his shirt. The final touches of his ensemble, a slim fitting black blazer, matted cuff links in the shape of his business logo, and lastly an Acacian Rolex with slim sleek features. Shiny black band, polished silver rim with intricately jeweled inner workings and an engraving on the back depicting an octopus. This meticulously polished look imbibes Leon with a sense of aristocracy, there was something both mesmerizing and repulsive about him, a characteristic charm masking something else, something almost sinister. Count Leon Bartholomew III Personality Leon Bartholomew the Third, many people know him for his personality more so than his looks. An aggressive businessman, the corner stone of industrial efficiency, a tactical mindset akin to a seasoned commander, and a loyalist’s passion for his family name are what really makes Leo the man he is today. The svelte business man carries himself with an air of refinement only those of nobility could cultivate. Words drip from his tongue like honey as a fox grin hides most of his intentions and plans. He is both cunning and suave all at the same time. One has to be for the world of political business, able to turn a deal from certain destruction with the sound of his voice only to later have it fail and crash at someone else expense. Compassion is something seldom used in the business world and even more so seldom felt by the Count, empathy had no place in his life for he received none during his. His lack of feeling has allowed Leon to see situations from all facets and not be limited by the act of killing someone or the act of letting someone live. The best choice was found for any situation and the most beneficial one was made. After all, the devilish man enjoyed good business no matter who it was with. While menacing and cunning come to him as easily as breathing those are words someone would use to describe the CEO from the outside. Within his company a plethora of people praise his name, often being able to continue with their lives thanks to the creation of jobs or innovation of his company in many run down cities across the land. Despite what others may say, Leon is a loyal patron to the employees of his company as long as they continue to be productive members of Lattice Energy. People worked harder either through fear or inspiration and inspiration worked better but, he would not let his competitors know his soft side. That was part of the game; make them think you are who you are not. Cunning, suave, tactical, merciless, efficient, cold, loyal, all these things encompass most of the facets that is Leon. Entangled among all of these extremely powerful characteristics is a cumbersome paranoia one would not associate with someone as successful as he. A product of his father’s assertions about competitors and his mothers coddling, Leon tends to shy away from people that have not been at least screened through one or two associates first. His anxiety has led him to create an enigma around himself as to who he actually is, most of the world only knows him by name and not by personally meeting him. Life was safer the less people who knew who you actually were. Magic Magic Name: Prayers of Power Magic Type: Support Specialist Tier of Magic: 1 Rank: 3 Magic Description: Prayers of Power is a solely supportive magic that pushes the powers of its allies to its upper limits allowing them to far exceed expectation of their own abilities and weakens their enemies. The spells and abilities that comprise this magic are used to counter attacks and assist in assaults that the bearer might not know are coming. Boons are a main feature in this magic not to be confused with buffs. Unlike buffs, boons may be stacked but only activate with a set of parameters are met. Multiple boons may be cast at once but never during combat; only one boon per turn during combat. Upon trigger, boons create a 'sickness' where the recipient may not receive a boon again of that type." Only one of the same type of boon may be cast on someone at a time; Protective, Healing, Utility. All boons follow the support system in regards to technique options. Should a boon activate and fall under the category of a buff. Ie. Stats stacking or debuffing someone who is already under the effects of a buff the normal buff rules come into play. Techniques: (5)/5 [1 earned / 1 bought] Boon: Protection - (1) Type: Support Range: 5 meters Effect: The caster makes the sign of the holy trinity while muttering a verse or prayer, starting with the head, moving to the navel, over the heart and finishing at the right breast. An intricately glowing cross appears before the user that only he can see before jumping to whomever (up to 2 people at rank 1) it was caste upon. There it sits on the forehead blinking at a slow rate indicating the placement of the boon lasting for (3 posts at rank 1). Once and attack of equal or greater value is about to hit the boon recipient the ability is triggered. Once triggered a brightly glowing cross appears between the attacker and the target and the ability or attack is blocked, meaning that a rank 1 spell or physical attack will trigger the shield in the direction of the attack, blocking the attack. Once triggered the bearer receives (Boon Sickness for 2 post). This ability has a 3 post cool down. Boon: Healing - (1) Type: Support Range: 5 meters Effect:The user gestures creating a large circle in front of him with an open palm, a glowing circle of green light trails from his hand that only he can see. A few protective words are spoken and the circle splits apart flying to the targets (up to 1 at rank 1). A faintly blinking light green arcane symbol appears on the recipient’s chest lasting (3 posts at rank 1). This ability may be triggered in one of two ways, either when the maximum damage has been taken as it heals what it can or by the bearer/caster to heal wounds below its maximum ability. Magical energies flow through them, their body glows with a neon green outline as they feel their wounds (heal over 2 posts) triggering (Boon Sickness for 2 post). This abilities cool down is 3 posts. Prayer of Wind - (3) Technique Options: (3/3) - Decrease cool down by one post from 3 to 2 - Increase duration by one post from 2 to 3 - Your buff effects up to 3 people Type: Support Range: Touch Range [5meters] Effect: The user begins to recite a verse, hands held together, a slight gust of wind emanates outward from him. Almost unnoticeable wind emanates from the recipient/s (3 at rank 3), (buffing speed with +15) Their body feeling the faintest breeze envelop them for (3 posts). This abilities cool down is 2 posts. _______________________________________ Edited by Inara Serra, Nov 23 2016, 11:25 PM.

Um... I think this is ready. I think Mango said she/he would look this over for me but I am done making any major edits and now seek professional advice. Please move this to be reviewed and help me. Thank you. PS: I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but I intend for him to join Nine Lives when he meets the requirements and is able. Edited by iceking45, Oct 19 2016, 10:24 AM.

Technique Options -Technique Options are only availible for Techniques that have numerical buffs/debuffs such as +5 Power or +22 Speed. The first two techniques you have do not qualify for Technique Options Protection -How long does the mark/sign last? I think a 2 post cooldown is okay here. Healing -The healing should take place over a duration of 2 posts Prayer of Wind -Range should be touch |

Heyo, thank you for looking at it! So about my magic and what I am trying to intent. First, I would really like the technique options for my boons so, I added some buff to them to grab that. Secondly, boons are meant as a one post maybe two depending on the boon i.e Boon of healing, so the buff should last briefly to bolster whatever is needed for that moment in time. Thirdly, the intent is for boons to last indefinitely until triggered, they receive no buff or adage until triggered. For the increased stat for the technique option I chose, I wasn't sure how much the option increased it by which is why I left it at 5, please help me here. Lastly, a buff questions. So say I have Prayer of Speed on, and while it is on Boon of Protection procs, the +5 speed would go away and the +5 power would take over (but the duration of Prayer of Speed is still active on the person say the boon triggered on turn 2.) So my question is, on turn 3 when I still have 1 post of duration left on Prayer of Speed, the +5 Power would fade and I would go back to my +5 speed OR does the buff just prematurely end and I need to re-cast it? Thank you. |

Well, the problem now is that your techniques are doing too much. For example your Protection technique now gives a shield and a buff which is a lot, especially at Rank 1 (same for your healing.) We can work it out but Technique Options are strictly for Buffs/Debuffs in its most basic form. I'll move on to your other points for now. I can understand your second intent, but it's just a general thematic on this site that a rank 1 healing spell heals a person over 2 posts. A standard Rank 1 healing technique, it should only effect one person in a 3 meter radius and heal over two posts. However, since you are a support specialist, I am willing to let you increase the range to 5 meters on a single target. Now for your third intent, it just can't happen, the boons can't last indefinitely. Sorry. For your question, the second buff would override the first buff and put the first buff on cooldown. With these points answered, I'll let you edit your techniques as you wish or let you reply so we can settle on some agreement and whatnot. Edited by AuraLex, Oct 20 2016, 11:56 PM.

Thank you very much for the feed back, I think I am beginning to understand the system that is in place more. If you will take a look again here is a break down of the changes that I made - Boon of Protection: Lasts 3 posts, 2 people, boon sickness of 1 post, cool down of 2 posts. -Boon of healing: Lasts 3 post, one person, boon sickness for 1 post, heals over 2 posts, 2 post cool down. - Boon Sickness: each boon now adds a stack of boon sickness instead of lasting for a the time of the boons cool down (since the cd would pop before the boon would trigger sometimes) in which they can recieve no boons while effected by boon sickness. Thank you for working with me in trying to create my magic and balance it. I had a questions about Boon sickness and if I needed it at all, I currently have it in there for two reasons. One being I thought the magic would be too powerful without it and two because later on I had plan to make a spell that purged x amount of boon sickness giving x effect, either a stat boost the the character or maybe an attack (a support type attack, can only attack if I purge some stuff or w.e) anyway, this was my intent with it but if I do not need it I would like to get rid of it. |

Boon: Protection -I would say the "Sickness" would be needed here and that you increase it to 2 posts while increasing the ability cooldown to 3 posts. While this may seem much, Rank 1 spells aren't really supposed to amount to anything. -If you don't want the "Sickness" you could increase the cooldown to 4 posts and the duration to 2 posts. It's really up to you if you want to keep your Boon of Sickness. Boon: Healing -Increase the cooldown to 3 posts. -If you keep the "Sickness" this technique is OK but increase it to 2 posts. -Also, can you mention that the wound is healed over a duration of 2 posts. Again, keeping the Boon of Sickness is purely up to you. |

Howdy, I understand that it will eventually be what I want I just have to get the stats and ranks for it. Sometimes it is hard to remind yourself that your less than a normal person stat wise and magic wise! ha I made the recommended changes that you suggested and went ahead and kept boon sickness as I really like the mechanic and one day would like to make a spell that consumes all boon sickness for a debuff on a target or something like that. anyway, so you don't have to re-read I added this small part to the Boon sickness line. Upon trigger, boons create a 'sickness' where the recipient may "not receive a boon again of that type." Only one of the same type of boon may be cast on someone at a time; Protective, Healing, Utility. I did this because I don't want to run into something like this happening. Two boons trigger at once, someone has 5 posts of boon sickness in where I can't use ANY boons on them at all. This way, I have the option to stagger them and still be useful. I am just trying to get away from periods where I can't cast something. But if my math is right, it still creates a cool down for the recipient of (cool down + sickness). |
